"The Stage" is one of the best albums in recent times. Synyster Gates's guitar work is fucking incredible and the album really makes you think. Something a lot of music can't do today. Also since you did this song which is 15 minutes... I think you're ready to listen to "Dog's" by Pink Floyd, or any song on Tool's "Fear Inoculum" Music like this takes you on a fuckin' journey, man.

Avenged is so fucking special, intense, amazing, honest and brutally amazing I just don't know what to say. Keep rockin' I hope they release some new stuff soon. Johnny Christ (bassist) said something about "new material"... I'm excited.

This is by far my favorite song by Avenged Sevenfold. Not only for being their most progressive songs to date, but also for the Neil deGrasse Tyson speech at the end. I really enjoyed the part where he tried to put the universe into scale, as well as (and probably more importantly) his comments about the human ego. I agree with what Neil is getting at with this. A lot of societal problems stem from someone thinking that they are better than another. Whether it's because of wealth, race, religion, nationality, gender, and so on. However, I have come to realize that all the things I just mentioned are all human constructs. They are all things that help give something that is vital to being human. An identity, or sense a of belonging. I think as more people realize this and start to understand and accept those around them who identify themselves differently instead of using them to pass judgement or for discrimination, then the more we can start to tap into our true potential as a species and get ever closer to Neil's idea of the Cosmic Perspective.

I’m so happy that Alex finally listened to THE greatest song in the history of mankind. The ending speech is the most important speech I’ve ever heard and it speaks deeply about how we as a species can’t work together due to so many things all connected to Ego. After I heard this song I stopped looking at the world and myself as just a simple human being but started to look at everything as how we as a species could do/create so many wonderful things in he universe only if we let go of our Ego. Having Alex listen to this song while the protests are happening is shocking due to the fact the speech is literally talking about what is happening right now and that due to Ego we are letting our species kill/harm one another due to the fact of faith/skin color/etc. Yet if we stop looking at each other as different and more as a Human Species We can create a new and better world.

Alex, I can't tell you how glad I am you finally listened to this song. I love how from 12:50 - 13:30 you listen to it with your eyes (almost) closed and respond with "wow, it puts you in a trance" because that is EXACTLY what it does, that is my absolute favourite instrumental part of the song. Whenever I listen to this song it gives me a similar feeling as when I listen to The Greatest Show On Earth by Nightwish, they both make me feel so small and anxious yet so appreciative of life even if it's not that great at times.

Ugh I freaking love this band! This album was a strong departure from what they had been doing but every album they put out is! They do such an amazing job of constantly evolving their sound and Matt's voice is unbelievably powerful. He hits you on another level! Don't believe me? Listen to any song he's featured on! There's just something about what he adds to music! And the insane guitar and drum talent in that band is legendary! A7x foREVer! Seriously dude, you gotta just listen to everything they've made! You should listen to “Save me” by avenged sevenfold

I love the song and can play the intro on guitar, but I hope they keep making long epics like this and Save Me in the future that display their technical ability. I understand the meaning behind this song and why it has to be structured the way it is, but after hearing it so many times it's kind of hard to listen to. Despite it being so long it becomes predictable whereas I can listen to a Dream Theater or Opeth song several times and not remember what's going to happen next. Waking The Fallen and City of Evil are the closest they've come to hitting that level of prog. Their sound has changed so much that I'd like to hear what it would be like if they went back to those elaborate song structures now. They've gotten most of their newer stuff down to Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Solo, Bridge, Chorus, which is cool and all and still allows for creativity, but I would love if they went on more epics like Exist that are mostly instrumental, but I'd like to hear vocals a little earlier and be reoccurring throughout the song. I know Exist is a special case, but it is an incredible showcase of their talent, and I'd just like to hear more of that applied creatively.

Absolutely epic song, and only submits the fact of how talented and unique A7X really is. Strange as it may sound this song reminds me of Pink Floyd as far as the way it’s structured, the meaning, odd sound effects, and of-course the vast length. As others have stated this song is about the creation of the universe, Earth, humans, the demise of humans, and the fact that after we are long gone the universe will continue on as if we never existed. If you feel and listen for it, you can even sense the tragedy and sadness mixed in with everything else in regards to the part of the song about humans and our nature and even the ending dialogue. The fact that humans have so much potential and we are smart enough to expand outwards into space but humans are to blind, conflicted, and fragmented as whole so we cannot collectively focus on the big picture. Whether it natural or manmade we eventually die out and the tragedy is how the miracle of our world and life is but we truly take it all for granted. A very remarkable song and experience indeed!
