Something that stands out in your VGC vids is when you encounter a unique team or "surprise" tech on ladder, it's never met with confusion, frustration, or exasperation on your end, like I've noticed from some other creators. You always seem to be genuinely intrigued/fascinated/excited by the different things you run into, which conveys a genuine love for the game even this long after your VGC debut. idk, just something I personally appreciate :)
@@GrayVMhanthe worst is when they clearly have a tera that isn't good but in a specific situation wich basically never happens and so you loose the game
Aaron I just got to Masterball for the first time thank you so much for teaching and inspiring me I used one of the teams you showcased to make it. You were one of the main reasons I got into competitive pokemon so thank you
I know it's matchup dependent but as a Gouging Fire player, Rock Ogerpon is EXTREMELY difficult to play against. Especially next to scarf Urshifu it's super difficult to deal with I'm surprised most people just use rock ogerpon as a hard TR support option when Rock Ivy Cudgel is soooo strong! Great timing on the video Aaron I love watching these when I sit down to eat!
QOTD: Minus the obvious gimmick Muk + Smeargle strats it’s probably Chien-Pao. Extremely quick, annoying to KO without Ursh-R because it always runs sash, and the whole “Everything in the field now takes 25% more damage” enabling strategies of spamming Espeed and sucker punch.
He got a face tattoo of a magikarp and it takes a little time to heal. You got to put lotion on fresh tats, it takes a few days for the color to really shine.
QOTD: Lando I, while it’s not THAT difficult of a pokemon to get rid of, poison ground is such a good offensive typing and it deals so much damage even neutrally, that any sort of speed control and my entire team has to play to not get steamrolled by this monster.
QOTD: Archaludon in rain, this joint can snowball real quick when you don’t KO it fast enough. Not only does it gain defense boosts each time you hit it and can destroy you with body press but it also gains sp. atk boosts thanks to electro shot, which fires in just one turn under rain. Either way, it’s a pain in the butt when you’re not prepared😅
Love this team. Been trying to make a nice team with trickroom and tailwind options. I'm awful at the game, but teambuilding is fun anyway - love the video!
Love your vids! It's so cool to see how you go about decision making turn by turn. Also QOTD: Ting Lu. Massive bulk, puts a lot of pokemon in range of being KO'd by ruination, sometimes runs fissure, which it can usually land if it stays on the field long enough. The biggest issue is trying to figure out if I should ignore it or target it. Doesn't help that my team is heavily special
I like the idea of investing +8 evs in speed at ogerpon to pass iron bundle full speed booster energy on tailwind (even though iron bundle is not common nowadays)
QOTD: Definitely Farigiraf. It is so difficult, particularly on the closed teamsheet ladder to deny Farigiraf what it wants to do and respect every potential set in Team Preview.
Ok… this is just my second month playing online pokemon, my best clas last month was r7. I tried this team starting at r3 and had a run of like 10 cons wins to get to r10!!!! This was magical! Iron hands was the f mvp. Thanks for this video, it was really easy to understand the logic and make the decisions every play
QOTD: TORNADUS just demands so much to answer it, I never have the right read on the item and it's really easy for one mistake to cost the game against it
I feel like Tornadus would be SO much easier in open teamsheet but never knowing if it is sash, covert cloak, rocky helmet, mental herb... sheesh it is a pain
QOTD: Urshifu is getting really tiring lately with how many different items are being used on it right now. Especially with both forms being good at the moment, adding an extra layer to the guessing game at team preview.
I still can't believe they wont tell us the form in team preview. They show us the Ogerpon form, and in 3/4 that means we know its item too. Meanwhile Urshi can hit through protect and run any item it wants and still we gotta guess its typing which vastly alters its counters
Caught one right out the gate! Great timing to close out my evening. Comment to be edited upon finish! >:D! EDIT: I felt like I really got a good grasp of the strengths and weaknesses... watching Blursaluna get boomed twice in a row will inform how I use this. If you find it, I hope you take a peek at that Vileplume team. That guy was tapped into the matrix. Although I'll be happy to see the return of the facecam, I hope you don't feel any pressure to do so. QOTD: Getting real tired of Torn held item mindgames. But that's nothing new...
QOTD: i hate going against archauladon. with stamina, unless i have something brought solely to counter it, it often wipes my team. seriously believes it needs a nerf.
QOTD: Raging Bolt. The other day all it took was one calm mind and a bad lead on my part to make me a Raging Gamer lol. I just clicked the run button to save my sanity.
QOTD: Heck, I'm struggling with all the big bruisers in this format. Incineroar, Ursaluna, Bloodmoon, Raging Bolt, they've given the teams I've tried out a little bit of grief due to bulk and big counterattacks (even Incin gets you now and again with a well-timed Flare Blitz). They're very manageable, but it's been a bit of a learning process.
QOTD: I have to go with the obvious....Urshifu (both) - if it either its ability or its signature moves it would be still a top pokemon but it has both. Personally of its left out of every game going forward or perma banned id be happier in life
I have this weird feeling that the game 8 person had deliberately switched from Water to Dragon tera on their Amoonguss because of Water Tera getting read by Ogerpons and was probably feeling so please with themselves when it worked just as intended!!
Love the video Aaron keep up the good uploads As for QOTD I hate flutter mane simple as that it's to the point where I plan to bring gengar back from it's very lackluster limelight and it is a good poison type to use even against bulky specs flutter gengar can still ohko with min/max alone
QOTD: my least favourite Pokemon to run into in the format right now is kingambit. I love to play psyspam and kingambit blocks e force, is slow enough to survive under trick room, and has the offence to take sweep most of my teams
QOTD: metagross is my mortal enemy. it has so many tools and different sets that it's hard to read in best of 1. which i guess is what makes it a perfect anti-meta pokemon
My least favorite pokemon, (or I guess core) to face against is the moody minimize muk teams. I know they are gimmicky team, but it is the team that makes me want to throw my controller. It could also mean that I am just bad at the game lol
Yea watching Nick Donnelly's version of this team against Wolfe in Charlotte was wild. Finally brought out the true potential of Bloodmoon it felt like Edit: i can't believe people are answering the QOTD with anything other than Dondozo
QOTD: I’m gonna have to say speed booster Gouging Fire, so bulky and with speed booster and burning bulwark it can be so disruptive with moves like breaking swipe and the constant fear of being burned
I don't like that this tailroom team has no specially bulky attackers with something like assault vest because you really want that in best of 3 games to pivot around and get the right speed control up at the right time. The team also doesn't look that good against psyspam honestly.
Vileplume is one of those Pokémon thag ppl sleep on. It has pretty good bulk and a solid Sp. Atk stat, it just has low Speed like most bulky Pokémon have
I was wondering if you broke your camera or what. Considering starting a rumor that you were in an accident doing some obscure motor sport and had to wait for the injuries to heal
My least favorite mon to go against in our current format is definitely Archaludon. My team doesn't have a direct arch counter post Tera so arch + amoongus just iritates me so much.
@CybertronVGC I’m trying to make a sand veil/bright powder garchomp team. I have TTar for sand stream but I’m not sure what other Pokémon to add. What do you think would be a good set to add to. This team? Also any VGC team building tips would be appreciated.
My least favorite Pokémon to play against is torkoal. You just auto lose to it without a dedicated counter, but having that slot dedicated just for torkoal just feels bad. Not enough people play it to justify using up a whole slot, but at the same time you need a hard answer for it otherwise it will steamroll your team
I. hate. Hisuian. Lilligant. It's such an inconsistent mon to go up against and very disruptive/annoying at the same time and it's not a fun mon for me to go up against
