Having used kratom, and quit kratom. I've not been able to sleep for about 5-6 days. Was horrible. There was no hallucination, nor schizophrenia, however, this annoying little person would not stop arguing with me until I finally slept.
It’s like some sick joke,we can control our calories, and exercise but when it comes to the most crucial aspect like sleep we have no control over it. We can prepare to sleep and do everything right and still come up horribly short . 😂😂😂
First-time commenter, long-time follower. Adjusting my workouts because of weak links from brain injury and long Covid. Hard road back, and I enjoy your conversations. I always learn something even after lifting weights for 45 years. Love Sal's book, too!
@user-zy9hl5ewk9k Winner! Please email: ann@mindpumpmedia.com with a screenshot of your youtube username, winning episode number, and the email address you would like the program under and we will get you hooked up!
I am looking to buy my first MAPS program. 50 year old woman - been lifting 4 months at home based on information I’ve learned in the show and online. Dead lifting 60 lbs, benching 60, squatting with dumbbells 30 lbs. I don’t want to get hurt but ready to progress… so Starter or Anabolic? Thanks!
The way yall answered about the churches had me dying laughing & definitely showed yall are from California 🤣 Sal said “10,000”, & I was like, shoot. There’s 10,000 churches in my hometown in Texas.

Post menopause don’t get much sleep. Women have it hard concerning that shit. JS I still get stronger and gain muscle bc even though I only get 6.5-7 my REM and DEEP sleep are good.
Sodium and salt are the most important for cravings. I only get 4-5 hours sleep a night. Since adding in 5G pink himilayan and 2g 0.5 low sodium I have no cravings whatsoever. Also improves your digestion and it helps on how your physique looks.
Fellas I love in town of 2,000 people there are 3 brick and motar churches catholic methodist and primitive methodist. Next over less 2 miles has 4 its 3,000 people oh yeah zero Starbucks 😂
I've lived in Ohio and Pennsylvania my whole life. And I believe that number for the churches they're fucking everywhere. And legit churches, not just a house.
Say you have a person who occasionally takes a nap. Does that sleep study include sleeping at night AND taking a nap? Or is it just for sleeping at night? Let's say you're lacking 30 mins rem/deep at night, what if you make up for it during a nap?
Are there any scientific studies that compare wearable biometric devices (Apple watch, Fitbit, Oura Ring, etc..) for which one give the most accurate sleep tracking?
Wow, I can’t believe it. I’m basically a regular listener now. So much value in the content y’all put out. How do you know you’re getting deep sleep though? How do you measure your own sleep quality? Are smart watches accurate?
Been watching you guys for a few months as I began my weight loss and strength building journey. Currently down 40lbs and a lot stronger and feel great!
I’m always surprised that you don’t have over a million subscribers! I think it explains why most of the country is overweight. You guys can cure obesity- love your content!!
"the safest way to deal with guns is arming more people" Show me a case where that actually worked! Only the US has these levels of guns and gun-related deaths, school shootings, etc. If more guns equated more safety, the US should already be the safest country in the world, but it isnt! Every other country with far fewer guns has far fewer gun-related deaths, crime etc.
As a woman with joint issues I knew this to be true. I found out my joints issues as well as my weight issues were due to lipedema. A connective tissue disorder that affects joints and causes fat to be surrounded by connective tissue and is very difficult to manage if you don’t know what you have. If your legs are thick, You bruise easily Your fat hurts Cats can’t walk on you You are gaining despite exercise You gain despite exercise If you. Have drastic weight fluctuations in a day. If you travel and swell up If you feel glue like symptoms If your fat has a lumpy feel to it If your joints hurt especially during storms If you have heavy fat in your arms If your fat feels heavy If you have a smaller upper body or waist If you have limbs that are bigger than your torso If your hands and feet are normal but your body is fat All these are symptoms of lipadema. You may only have one and you may be slim still but in early stages and have unexplained pain Look it up god bless you!
I have the most terrible time with sleep. I purchased the Organifi Gold on your show’s recommendation. I’m hoping it helps. I really appreciate the content you guys put out. It’s been very helpful to me and my commitment to my health. Thank you 🙏
How often do you recommend changing up training programs? When talking about "your only as strong as your weakest link" it makes me wonder how often and how dramatically I should be changing my workouts to ensure I'm not neglecting support muscles.
I have a garmin tracker and 😂 I celebrate every time I get 30 to 40 minutes of deep sleep. I even show people on my app. I can’t even imagine having 2 hours of deep sleep. 🤯 I’d probably post it on every media app and go out for some kinda deep sleep champion dinner 🥩. 😆
I'm surprised to hear there's so few churches in the US in Huntington Beach, I can think of a handful of streets thst have 3 churches on the same street within a half mile distance. I. Personally have 4 within walking distance of my house. I imagine there's more in places in the Midwest or the deep south.
If the fate of the world counted on me to get 8 hours of sleep. You all be dead. 6 hours is normal. I dont drink, I dont smoke and I cannot have caffeine. I always wake up before my alarm. Even if the alarm is at 4 am. Lol
my limiter is weird, its in my wrist..been that way as long as i can remember working out even at 15 yr old. i get to a point of weight where the pressure in my wrist builds so much its too painful to lift..curls and bench presses. Now i'm doing pro and sup exercises for my wrist hope this helps..love your show
You guys have totally changed my mindset about diet and exercise. I'm currently eating a lot more and losing weight. I also find that with eating more and weight lifting, when I go off the diet I'm less likely to gain a bunch of weight all at once. Recovering from that eat less move more nonsense
Guys - when you take in insufficient amounts of protein is the metabolism catabolising muscle to force the quickest release of glycogen from muscle storage to fuel metabolic processes because excess energy stored in adipose can’t be reverse engineered to glycogen?
It’s also in our nature to destroy ourselves. We can’t fool ourselves thinking we’re always going be safe with electricity. With greater goods there’s room for the greater bad to flourish.
I was wondering if using artificial means to regulate your temperature with your AI bed would start inhibiting your ability to regulate temp. Like being in an air-conditioned environment all the time the body no longer can regulate or adapt to outside extreme temperatures.
I may not have range issues yet, but my right shoulder and ankle don't have the same range as my left side. I'm not sure what to do, but I'm willing to find wye to help it
Once again, talking about reality and things we all experience. Love your ability to make us feel we are not alone or the only one who experiences weak links. Addicted to my daily mindpump!
27F- I reduced my visceral fat from level 17 to 13 from weightlifting and walking. Still have a long away to go. This podcast has helped me as someone who’s new to lifting. 🎉💪🏼
I sometimes I get little sleep but my watch tells me it was a good sleep and visa versa. Fitness is extremely complicated, functionality, strength, vo2, grip strength, flexibility. I’ve been trying for 20 years and it’s still 🫤 I like that you use scientific studies, things change so quickly, so your keeping me up to date with the ever changing fitness industry 😊
Appreciate ALL your years of experience - as a middle aged woman growing up in aerobics classes (sadly) - i am trying to learn what MAPS program is best for me- i lift weights at home and now mountain bike and walk for cardio (to help my cholesterol levels) Thank you for including women and all ages in your informative episodes
I definitely need to work on improving my sleep quality, because you guys are right about the detrimental effects lack of sleep can have. Mind Pump is THE most educational fitness podcast! 🧠
You guys need to look into that story, that woman did not lift that car up off of her child, she actually had three guys from the neighborhood come down and help her and she basically just moved the front wheel well a little bit which essentially just took some weight off of the struts. She did not lift that car. Even the newspaper article made sure to state that she had help from three young men from the neighborhood
“It is a shame for a person to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which their body is capable.” -Socrates This quote has always resonated with me, I’m 46 and the strongest I’ve ever been. I’m still have high body fat content but working at it. I love the shows, I pick a little or a lot from various Mind Pump episode and it’s really helped me understand mind and muscle connection. I especially prioritize hitting my protein goals. Thank you guys, great show for fitness.
