Mind Pump just got me through my relocation from South Dakota to North Carolina. 22 hours straight driving with Mind Pump blaring! Had me so motivated that when I arrived in NC I went straight to a gym, got a membership, did a trigger session, then drove the UHaul to my new house to to unpack. To keep up the motivation I have Sal yelling "What's up everybody!" set as my morning alarm.

My fiancee has been having some strange neurological health issues, and is really nervous about what her test results might be showing. She's got lots of investigations to endure before they even figure out what's going on, but I am helping her get started on strength training. I'm convinced she can squat her way to an invincible brain, which is the epitome of bromedicine, I guess. But it's keeping us both optimistic and we love the progress we are both making

I love it when people say they don't wanna lift weight because they don't wanna look like a bodybuilder. Because that's how it works, few sets of squats suddenly you're Ronnie Coleman squatting 800 pounds of solid ass weight. That's not how any of this works, stop being silly.

I’m 48 and going through menopause I strength train 4 days a week two full body, one legs and one upper I also get at least 7000 steps a day. I’m doing a body recomp in a deficit with high protein. I’d love to do anabolic once my money get right. I appreciate the knowledge you all have and I want to thank you for continuing to help me on the journey. I think I need to do a lean bulk because I haven’t lost weight in a while. I’m scared to increase my calories but I’m going to take you advice

I am still in the obese category but have lost 100 pounds since my heaviest weight at the birth of my last child three years ago. My daily routine is following a separation of healthy fats and healthy carbs directed by Trim Healthy Momma program - it is a lifestyle change that works for me. I also walk 5 miles a day. However, listening to this episode while working on shoulder mobility with help of Prime Pro ignited that spark again and reassured me that how important is resistance training for balanced and healthy life. Will be back in few weeks with full intensity hopefully . Thanku for dropping these knowledge bombs in entertaining way guys. Much appreciated 👍
@davidsenay2811
@davidsenay2811 2 года назад
I don't watch these podcast but if you have shoulder pain first determine if it is rotator cuff or simple inflammation. If it's simple inflammation like most... Take a pain killer and rest it 2days and ice it and than start massage and heat treatments to recruit blood to that muscle to heal it also work the front and rear delt with 12-15reps to help bring blood to it on the same day so it will break down the muscle giving it more space to recover and not be irritated by other structures in the joint. Also do dead hangs for about 10 minutes through out each day, it's proven to give the shoulder the most space so very good for recovering shoulder problems .
@teek9188

Lift weights two to three days a week. Don’t overdo activities outside the gym, that is particularly cardio, not to say cardio is bad, just do it light, like walk for like 20-30 mins. But don’t overdo it. Fitness is all about balance.

Hi guys this a breath of fresh air. I have yoyo dieted for 29 years. I have an awesome coach. You guys share similar beliefs. I have finally accepted the fact that I will continue to strength train 2 to 3 days a week versus 5. And what I am happy to do to get my quote un quote dream body. Ive had my dream body a couple of times. Its not worth all the sacrifice to stay there. I am realizing my dream body may be at a higher bodyweight because I don't have to lock myself in my house and punish myself everyday with such ridgity in the form of dieting and exercising. I still have structure but not so much I can't enjoy my life. I am not at my goal yet but am quite happy to be doing what I am doing. Totally awesome channel!!!!

What a fantastic subject! I broke my arm a year and a half ago ... spiral fracture on the top, radical wish wishbone fracture at the distal side of the humerus. Did no weight lifting whatsoever for the last 40 years .... when I was younger I could bench 200 squat 320 that type of thing. My shoulders became weakened and skinny. After 18 months of resistance bands only for the shoulders every second day ... everything just popped out like when I was what is 25 years old... and it keeps going, the back, the pecs. But to push back a little bit, as Andrew Huberman pointed out, muscles do not have memory. You're thinking of the brain connection with the nervous system. In any case the end result is accurate. Simply amazing muscle recovery for so little effort. Thanks much 🙏 ☺. I always listen on audio but wanted to comment and thank all of you. Alessandro

I’ve always done a lot of cardio and ran 4-5 days a week.In October I started resistance training vs cardio and within a month was consistently losing body fat without much diet change, (if any )I still have a hard time with the mind set that I should be doing more cardio. I’m 50 and was noticing I was losing a lot of muscle tone as in “fat, skinny” is the reason I started resistance . I’ve been listening to you guys a lot for the past few months and you are such an encouragement. I found the 30 day workout you posted in January and started that last week. I have had to do some modifications since I don’t have a cable for lat pull downs or strait arm pull downs . Any ideas on that if your listening ? But thank you so much for your program ! If I only had a penny everytime I’ve heard Sal mention in some fashion, “name another form of exercise….” Or “name a form of exercise that can do that..” I’d be rich. In all seriousness, this podcast is the best. Thank you guys 🙏

Very informative content in this episode. I recently signed up in a gym with my teenage daughter and son. It's their very first time joining one and this is my first time in 6 years. I'm teaching them how to navigate around the gym while working out and we follow a predominantly resistance based workout using free weights and machines, with 10 minutes of cardio before (warm up) and after (cool down) the main workout. I got plenty of insights this episode that will be useful as I teach them the fundamentals of fitness and exercise. Thanks and more power to your channel!

When doing cardio you should not stop eating calories. That's the problem with how people do cardio. If you actually consume calories you will actually improve performance. You have to make the body realise its to use food as a form of energy and not to save the energy from food.

Adam’s Jordan’s are lookin mighty fly. As far as the topic of the episode... I’ve been pushing the resistance training over cardio for weight loss for 6 months now. My co workers haven’t believed me... until now. The results I’ve achieved have been only thru weight training. Now that my co workers are seeing my results, they are finally buying into strength training

I recently started working out again, more for my mental than physical. I realised resistance bands were a good entry point for me again. It's enjoyable, focused but still challenging enough. I saw that the Maps program involves resistance bands as well, would love to try it and have a more focused system to work along with 💪

Good to do a variety. Strength training, cardio, mobility, etc. And the various modalities within. Weightlifting, calisthenics, LISS, HIIT, dance, yoga, etc. There are benefits to be found in all of these and if you only stick to a narrow track, you're going to miss out on so many potential benefits and possibly even cause harm from imbalances and overuse injuries.
