This Is The Guitar I've Been Waiting For! 

Maxwell, m' friend, I'm gonna go ahead and weigh in on the neck back finish thing. When I started playing guitar, there was only one finish to be had, regardless of maker or type of guitar. You got gloss, period. That means, of course, that I got good and used to gloss finishes on neck and learned to work with them under all conditions. When I get ready to shift my hand up or down the neck, I loosen that hand enough to escape the friction of the gloss surface; I've been doing it so long that it's second nature and I don't notice it at all. Yes, I do like a satin neck finish when I can get one, but I have never had the option of preferring one over the other until recently. It's the same for upper fret access enhancements; they didn't exist when I stared, so it was decades before I ever saw, much less owned, a guitar that had any such thing. Hand me a guitar with a classic "big block" neck attachment and I will go right up the neck and stretch my fretting fingers to where they need to go, largely ignoring the obstruction. I can tell the difference between that classic block and, say, the All-Access Neck Joint used by Ibanez or a set-through/neck-through attachment, so I guess that I don't bother stretching for the higher notes on the guitars I have that have one of those neck joints -- and I now have all three of those major types! I straight LOVE those axes with the improved upper fret access (and who wouldn't?), but those old school blocks don't faze me one bit. I do favor guitars with modern appointments, but I still know how to deal with the vintage designs. That means I'm more able to like guitars as they are, although I also reserve the right to reject any guitar for any, no, or WHATEVER reason. You know, I pays my money, I gets my choices!😎

Neck thru guitars are my ABSOLUTE Favorite! And it looks AWESOME TOO! I just purchased 2 guitars off of AliExpress both neck thru construction 1 is custom-made to my specs ( and boy did I pump them out ) and the other is a Kiko 27 fret guitar. My custom guitar costs $421.56 and my Kiko costs $242.75 so for a lousy 664.31 I'm getting 2 guitars! ( The amount includes tax and shipping costs ) AND! My custom guitar has MY NAME ON IT! Beat that!

Looks and sounds so cool

I have one MIM Strat with a poplar body and another with alder body. The alder is heavier, and seems to sustain better. Both have distinct tones so it's nice to switch off now and then. If I had my choice I would have to go with the alder body. The guitars being demoed have that thick alder tone I love! Thanks for bringing these guitars to my attention. What great substitutes for the old designs. I think these cheaper but better equip guitars coming out recently will have lasting repercussions to the industry.

Congratulations the 200k! 🥳🎉 That black burst looks amazing, but I prefer a satin finish over gloss. Recently resurrected an early 90's guitar with slightly thicker varnish on the neck and I could feel the difference immediately..The neck construction sounds great though. My RG550 Genesis uses a 5-piece maple/walnut on the wizard neck, which is sensible considering how thin it is. Apparently the original 80s models could develop cracks around the headstock so multiple woods, especially something as hard as walnut makes for better structural integrity.

If I remember correctly? MusicMan guitars, found through testing, that there's a point of diminishing returns with multipiece neck through construction. I believe 5 pieces was the magic number. Anything more than that drastically hurt resonance throughout the guitar. Having two thin strips of dense hard wood sandwiched between 3 peices of, say mahogany, makes the neck not only stronger and more stable, but can give the guitar a slightly snappier feel. I only have 1 guitar that's neck through. It's 3pc. maple with a thin U carve and volute. Unfortunately, when guitars are practically dipped in paint and thick poly clear over that, any perceived tonal benefits are minimized. I don't mind painted necks that are done well, but prefer the feel of almost bare wood with nothing but TrueOil on them, like many MusicMan guitars. Roasted maple is my favorite.

Nice I still wish they had a 24 fret HSS. I don't know why so many affordable brands don't do it. The only affordable brand I've seen do it well is Harley Benton. If AIO made a 24 fret HSS S series I'd probably buy it

Yeah nice, I have a hard time with a middle pickup with the way I've honed my picking and hand positioning...but that's easily taken out I guess... nice guitar tho, thx for showing it

I’d like to see your other video. No two pieces of wood are alike so structurally they are different and might impact the overall way the strings are mounted and vibrate but it isn’t a tone thing. Tone is a function of sound and a solid body electric guitar doesn’t process sound it creates a voltage caused by a disturbance in the magnetic field.

I think that the hardware and how the strings mount to the instrument have a lot of impact on your sound tonally. A guitar that has strings that mount through the wood itself and use a tunomatic bridge tend to resonate and sustain better than a guitar that has a tremelo or tele style bridge. Of course this will surely be a debated subject. As far as the woods are concerned the difference in grain density will have an impact on how vibrations from the strings are dispersed and different frequencies will certainly be accentuated or softened. However, these characteristics are a sum of all the components such as wood types, hardware materials, pickup type, string gauges, and the quality of the potentiometers, resistors, transistors, and capacitors used to shape frequencies within the circuit.

Regarding my question regarding the availability of a HSS configuration of this same guitar: I went on AIO's website and yes, they do have this exact same guitar in HSS! The probability that I will get one just went up by 100% .

Max I would LOVE to see this Black Guitar and make one a Purple Sparkle (Crushed/Powdered Mother Of Pearl) with say either Black Pickups and or Yellow Pickups.

I have become an avid watcher of your videos and all the guitars you demo. Got to say I definitely love it and keep up the good work but on this specific guitar and several others from AIO Guitars in general. I've watched a few other videos on AIO Guitars and you seem to be the only one having these great set ups ~ such as one had very rough frets and fret edges , along with overspray on a gold Les Paul style guitar and you could even see the gold overspray on the fretboard itself.. because I for one I love some of the guitars that they put out but I'm having mixed reviews. But even this guitar that you're playing in this video, what type of tremolo does this have is it a actual Floyd Rose ? But of course in general or getting back to you get great guitars from AIO , whereas some of the other RU-vidrs putting out videos aren't getting the same quality as you are receiving so I have to say I'm kind of lost here on purchasing an actual AIO / Wolf guitar.

Do they have the HSS configuration available? It's getting harder to find as everyone has gone to HSH. The HSS allows for that beautiful Strat-y neck pickup tone for clean chords and that absolutely glorious, creamy single coil neck pickup sound when soloing with distortion. This guitar reminds me in tone and looks of my Schecters, which is a huge compliment to AIO.

Damn! This is what Fender should've done to those HM Strats reissues!

That guitar is impressive. If they could make that left-handed, I would seriously consider going into debt for one. Them make quite a few models leftie, so I give them major props for that.

Pretty good bang for the buck in that AIO. I'm not a fan of the black, so I'd have to factor in the cost of stripping the body and repainting it, and since it's a neck through, that's not as easy. Tone woods are more audible in acoustic guitars than solid body electrics. Anyway, get a haircut. 😁

Reminds me of the1986 Ibanez Roadstar II

Looks pretty nice but I wish there was more color options. Paul Reed Smith makes a pretty nice looking guitar with a Floyd Rose but it's the same type of black dyed finish which isn't bad but I'd rather have it died in a color .

Killer looking guitar and love the neck through, just needs Jumbo SS frets and a Floyd Rose 1000 or better.

Also, both look a lot like an IYV guitar that I have, but it has coil splitting, and isn't neck thru. I forget, was it you that said that AIO gets their guitars from IYV? Then they tailor them up, and do the great set up?

Is it understandable that one might consider a neck thru with tremolo NOT a neck thru? The tremolo routing cuts through the neck material, stopping the "thru" construction. If this guitar was a hardtail, yes fully neck thru.

I'm a big fan of super strats and I dig the black flame finish and the matching headstock. The "ebony" fretboard is great, too as it basically gives you a totally "blacked out" guitar. Would love to see the same model but with a couple different config options: Just a single humbucker with a single tone knob Single humbucker with a single coil in the neck Reverse headstock

Hey Guitar Max, I own 3 AIO guitars but none of mine came equipped with the pickups I see on this new model. Are they hotter than the older pickups used on the older AIO models?! On all three of my AIO guitars I replaced the pickups with dual rail humbuckers. The only negative I could find on them.

Only problem for me is I hate a middle pickup between 2 humbuckers. Anytime I've ever tried one I always hit it with my pick.

Middle pickup is a no go…hate those things, my pick always hits them.
