He's her grandpa. The outsider thing isn't a thing for her. Him being not Jack doesn't define him and there are plenty of people who wouldn't even think to ostracize him for it like the older Pearsons do (as understandable as their ostracism is).

Just saw this episode and annie scene teared me up.. it shows how much miguel was part of that family🥺❤

You should continue watching it’s amazing and he still always there in the throwbacks

The writing has been getting worse. Don't get me wrong, the writers still are very effective af in emotionally resonant scenes and the writing overall isn't bad, just markedly worse than the first season. The second season shows it too, in hindsight. But season three and following really show it and not only in hindsight. The big three can be ridiculously thin skinned (especially Kate, dear Lord) and that is shown as reasonable. And the other characters are going there more and more, too. I'm in season 4 at the moment, and Beth is sometimes touchy but it is not egregious. But Toby is egregious, purely in contrast to how happy and hardy he was in the beginning. The Toby at that Hollywood party (where Kevin had to beg to be let out of his contract) is just dead. He is always miserable and he has to walk on eggshells around his touchy wife. And in the last episode I saw, even Miguel has started to show his touchy side (although, like with Beth, he is still reasonable. He was scared af for his wife, being touchy stands to reason). But, like I said, it's not bad, just weaker than in the beginning.

@@katbrown2895I'm always surprised when I write one thing and people read another. Weaker but not bad becomes bad, characters being touchy without reason (as opposed to the examples with reason) becomes not liking emotion. Let's not continue this. I do keep falling into trying to reason, but I know that it doesn't lead anywhere with people who substitute their view for reality.
