I was going to write pretty much the exact same thing. If he PRETENDED to care Like This all the time, he could be number one. I just more or less, ALWAYS, get the feeling that he just doesn't (care)
moronic comment. a focused kyrgios couldn't even beat khachanov at the us open. every pro player is talented. mentality is like 70% of tennis when it comes down to the very top level. you clearly are a casual
He’s the reason I picked up a racket, the dropshots, the underarm serves, his slice shots and effortless power. We will never see a player like him again, he’s only 28, if he locked in I really believe he can still win a slam!!
Yeah but… that’s kinda mean. Imagine if you’re just vibing and someone says “if you really locked in, you’d get promoted.” Some people want to do that. Some people don’t. I don’t see why Nick should want or have to try any harder. He’s balling, enjoying life. I say let him be.
@@AnnoyingMobileGames I didn’t mean to be mean! I’m sure he’s living a far better life than myself and you, and many others but as I stated he is only 28 and if he locks in once he’s recovered from his injury I believe he has the quality to win a slam
@@Migzy-fg5zp oh I didn’t mean to attack you or anything. I understand where you coming from. It’d be nice if he won a slam just to shut people up lol.
@@IGNSanity and it's kinda fun. When everyone will still remember them but forget him. He's going to be 75 and tell people "yeah I beat Djokovic, Federer and Nadal" first try". People won t believe him.
I mean, he has a huge serve, forehand, and he’s pretty athletic. It makes sense that he beats good players the first time in because it takes a while to just get used to his game. I honestly think he lived up to a lot of his potential. He’s kinda like a Kevin Anderson or a Del Potro… not nearly as talented as the big 3.
without a doubt the most naturally gifted player the world has ever seen .. Most definitely the most exciting and entertaining. You have to remember that federer ,nadal and novak have different mindsets, their commitment to being the best is i believe the main focus in their lives . Nick i believe has more natural talent than the three of them but strategy and good coaching leads to greater success, and nick is his own man and i for one as a tennis fan for over 50 years get more enjoyment from watching this young mans skills and tennis is all the greater with him involved . i love his zest for life and attitude a great guy
He is not a great guy at all. It has been proven that he has sociopathic tendencies. His numerous outbursts, especially the nasty ones, indicate that appropriately. Does he have talent? Without a doubt. Does he have the mental fortitude and desire to be the best through discipline, absolutely not! Like a performance-oriented and expensive race car, they tend to crash when a loose cannon of a driver is at the helm.
He goes on about not caring and not trying, and everyone says "imagine if he tried, greatest talent ever". Imo it's just a crutch. Prime Big 3 toss his salad
The match against Rublev was even more destructive than these highlights suggest. Find it and watch it. Nick DISMANTLED Andrey, and it was his backhand that did so much damage. I really think this match was peak Kyrgios.
Mentality comes with confidence and preparedness. He is almost never prepared and his confidence comes with his serve which is on about 70% of the time. You don’t just magically get a strong mentality.
@@Jimboslice1776 i agree and disagree. i agree that mentality comes with confidence and preparedness however I believe that it is also an innate ability. No matter how confident or prepared you are, if 90% of the crowd is against you will falter if not for an already strong mentality. If you were to boo a player like NK they would implode immediately while Joker and Meddy would use that to fuel them and prevail over their opponent. You can't learn this.
@@user-nd6kj8yp8u Yea, but confidence only makes a difference if you are close in skill level and conditioning. It doesn’t matter if the 50th ranked player in the world has 10x the mental strength of Djokovic… he’s gonna get smacked. Same with Kyrgios. He just gave up matches where he was already losing, so it creates this illusion of “Oh wow, when he’s trying he’s winning, but he doesn’t try, he loses.”
He will go down as one of the biggest “what-ifs” in tennis history. He’s arguably the most naturally gifted player that’s every played, and I’m not being dramatic. If he just learned how to stay focused, not get too emotional, and make tennis his everyday job, he would be winning multiple slams
He sort of focused, was motivated and healthy. Plus he adjusted the control left hand of his backhand and he made the finals of Wimbledon.. wish him the best when he gets back! He just always care most days when he plays.
In terms of talent I put Nick Kyrgios behind Roger Federer. I’ve seen both live in practices and match play and it’s literally almost the same of shot creation and shot connection.
Yall are delusional af. Everything about their games is completely different. I can’t even think of a single shot that looks, moves, or spins similarly. Nick’s game is like 80% serve and forehand and the remaining 20% is athleticism if he’s feeling it that day. All that being said, Kyrgios is one of my favorite players to watch.
Nick is clearly just doing side quest with his tennis career. Just doing it for fun. If he played for legacy he would've been number 1 undisputed. Most entertaining player to watch
Sometimes I think Kyrgios plays the trick shots just to bring his oppositions mental down to his level, then beats them on skill. Imagine getting broken on the first serving game of the set, and then he just starts hitting it through the legs. I think I'd start smashing my head into the court.
Unfortunate we most likely won’t see him anymore. Mental game was always poor and the injuries don’t help. I remember when he withdrew from AO2024, he had said how much he hates playing tennis because of the constant pain he is in and he truly doesn’t love tennis anymore. Sad, because this guys talent was otherworldly.
To the doubters, he's made enough money to retire at an early age. He made an incredible impact to the game and surely inspired millions of young players. Why not sit back and enjoy the spoils. He's got a great commentary style and a big future there if he chooses. More power to him.
I mean, the message he’s sending to kids is literally the worst message ever: “Go out and be a douchebag, give it your best shot every 5th tournament, call the officials names, break rackets often, retire early after accomplishing very little, brag often, tell respectable players that your friends have sex with their girlfriends, and party before tournaments.” Wouldn’t it be way better if he like… tried or fought through some adversity.
Well, nobody's stopping him from being focused and giving his 100% every match.. Winning & losing is different thing but you have give your 100% all the time.. I would personally take any other top 100 player's career over him..
Makes me wonder what all that fuss has been about? He changed the game or what? He broke some of the records? There are many other guys in Australia only who did much more damage even with much less talent than him😂😂😂
He does it as a showman whilst being controversial, mysterious, laid back, and overall entirely different from the rest of the ATP. He plays by his own rules, and even doesn’t care about the rules sometimes. He is truly unique.
All i see here is "if this and if that" that's what Kyrgios legacy will be.. the "if-player" and won nothing. there are loads of players like this in other sports.. if you don't win anything and you don't even want to try fix all your issues you got off and on the court, your nothing in most peoples books. He got good hands and some funny shots, but that's it.
Oh, he has a bit the classical Alpha male, ironic but laid-back vibe, that both men and women respect, so I guess there's some of that apart of his tennis...
