That's right! That is why I refer to the "doctor establishment" as "cutters, burners, and pill pushers incorporated". Same with me, but my problem was low sodium and symptoms were different. I’d guess it started when I was about 12, got resolved at 52 by drinking only electrolyte drinks, specifically Re-Lyte. Spent most of my life thinking I was incredibly lazy.

I blamed the keto diet for 16 months of cystitis and had eight doses of antibiotics which brought me no relief. I even paid a urologist to diagnose what was wrong with no result. Eventually I realised it was the metformin prescribed for my T2D that was the culprit. Keto with IF had brought my blood sugars down very quickly but no doctor even considered this.

A few years ago my nephew would only drink / hydrate with a sugary drink here in the UK called Vimto. He had to be treated by the dentist and had 7 amalgam fillings all in one go. It was a bad experience for him. He was told to stop drinking Vimto. In fact, unbeknownst to us he hardly drank anything at all. We noticed his eyes looked dark and sunken and thought it might be a iron deficiency. Anyway, things got worse . He starting having fits and was eventually diagnosed with epilepsy. He went to see numerous specialists who put him on anti fitting medication. Despite this he still has epileptic episodes. I did a little research and found that years of lack of hydration can lead to low electrolytes. Low electrolytes is linked to Epilepsy. I encouraged him to drink more and once a day dissolve an electrolyte tablet in a glass of water. So far so good. To date no epileptic episodes.

I worked with this guy who drank gallons of Mtn Dew every day. I once calculated he'd drank my entire day's caloric intake in just Mtn Dew. Naturally he was like 300 lbs, swollen belly, felt like hell all the time. He said he didn't like water, it "didn't satisfy is thirst." He liked the tingle and flavor of soda. I recommended sparkling water, where we discovered he really just liked the sugar. It was really sad watching someone his age eat and drink himself into a state of metabolic disorder. Thank you for explaining how the lack of electrolytes can wreak havoc in our bodies. I was having crazy muscle spasms while sleeping. My jaw would chatter and my body would jump whenever I would try to fall asleep. My legs started to twitch and jump and I was panicking at night before trying to sleep because I knew what was in store for me. Out of desperation I went to a neurologist who ordered an MRI and never once mentioned anything about electrolytes. I started researching on RU-vid and read about magnesium deficiency symptoms which really resonated with me so I added magnesium Malate and the cramps and spasms subsided. I was still experiencing my teeth chattering whenever I woke up so I started my RU-vid research again which led me to electrolytes. Thank God! It’s been smooth sailing since then!😊

I remember grade school. Be sure she understands that the electrolytes are simply completing the circuit, like a simple wire. This isn't like with the potatoes where the electrolytes are generating the electricity to power a digital clock. That was my first impression, and I'm an adult. When he said it completes the circuit, that's when it dawned on me. Water itself doesn't actually conduct electricity, and he just proved this. It's the minerals inside the water that conduct electricity. That way she understands what's happening there accurately. I know electrolytes can and do hold an electric charge, but it wouldn't be nearly enough to turn on an incandescent bulb, maybe a single LED very low, maybe a digital clock like the potatoes, but that's not what's happening in this video, and it's important that she understands that because otherwise she might have an inaccurate understanding, and it might make other things confusing that she learns later.

Potassium changed my life. I used to get debilitating dizzy/vertigo periodically for decades and would fix it by drinking tons of Electrolyte water and reducing my salt intake to rebalance things. This worked until one night it didn't. My heart rate was way too slow, I was too weak to get out of bed, I thought I may actually be dying and almost went to the ER. My husband realized my Electrolyte water contained little to no potassium. So he told me to resume normal sodium levels and gave me coconut water to drink for the next few days which has lots of potassium. And it fixed me right up!! She's a famous chemist and the article puts forward her theory about why the body creates cancer in the first place. Like, what is it trying to do? I read the article a few years ago and have been taking MSM supplements ever since, because if her theory is correct, then cancer is entirely preventable. If the root reason can be addressed, that can only help, right? Even for someone who already has it, I would think.

I recently had an episode where shortly after falling asleep my entire body started shuddering. The shuddering lasted for about an hour, during which time I had bitten all the inside of my mouth. My husband called an ambulance and while we were waiting for the ambulance he gave me a drink of magnesium with potassium which I believe eventually stopped the shuddering. When I got to the hospital the doctor insisted that I had had a panic attack. My blood tests showed low potassium but the doctor said that Its better to be low in potassium than high in potassium and warned me against taking potassium supplements without being monitored by a GP. I have zero confidence in the medical profession as a whole, however I am so grateful for Dr Berg's videos as I have learnt so much about helping my body to stay healthy.

More doctors need to know about that, especially the ones that are prescribing blood pressure medications. Despite fake medical beliefs, there is no guarantee that a given person has too much sodium in their body. The only way to know for sure is to test for it. People sweat more and less than others and some people retain more or less of it due to their kidneys and then there's the amount of fluids and their actual intake. Without actually having lab work done to determine whether or not there's even an excess, there should be no blood pressure medication prescribed that affects either potassium or sodium. People can be a lot closer to dangerous levels than one might expect.

Later I went inside and drank a cold glass of wine - not water with electrolytes as I should have. My husband took me out to dinner later that night and I noticed I was feeling strange. He took me to ER where my heart rate was 188 per min. I was in A-FIB! They said my potassium was very low ... among some other things. I could have died! I remember one video where you discussed the issue with sodium and another mineral, and you said it may be because we're adding too much salt, and it's hindering the absorption and to lower your salt intake some, so that the other mineral can be absorbed better, and the problem should go away. I’ve had debilitating muscle cramps (legs, hamstring and lower back) for the last three yrs. I got an MRI to check for herniated disk was cleared and after seeing three specialists all they came up with were steroid injections (which didn’t work either) and muscle relaxants. Then few months ago I started taking a magnesium supplement and adding sports electrolyte powder to my water and noticed the cramps would lessen and I could walk and bend down normally. But then after a few days they would come back. When I noticed this pattern I looked up different types of cramping and it’s causation. I stumbled upon articles that talked about HEAT CRAMPS. So I started applying ice around my neck, taking cold showers and sitting in air conditioning more which lowered my body temperature significantly. After a week of that cramps have been gone for good. All those doctors visits, mri and pills was for nothing. None of them suggested that my cramps might be heat cramps. Incredible. I suffered for three yrs. Sometimes it’s something this simple. I couldn’t believe it and still can’t till this day.

Really alarming how sick our society is. So many still legitimately think they need sugary drinks like gatorade for electrolytes and run to grab them when hungover. All we really need is a pinch of salt and lemon in some water. Also have to mention that the marketing of Gatorade to children under the guise of a "sports drink" is simply evil, masking the fact that it's nothing but addictive candy water, and the companies know it.

I agree that gatorade isn't healthy, but glucose helps get minerals into the cell.

To restore electrolytes i just need to eat a pinch of salt? i have been getting cramps while i am trying to sleep.
@bubblebrainbow
@bubblebrainbow Год назад
@@gerardocamachoacosta6413 You just need a pinch or two of himalayan or sea salt in lemon water. Lemon juice and salt have potassium, calcium and magnesium. When dissolved in water the salt (NaCl) breaks down into its component ions: sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl-). These charged particles can conduct electricity, thus are considered an electrolyte. Once consumed the electric charge can be readily utilized by your body.

I also believe they are taking salt out of the food, labeling it as bad. Watch the animals, if an animal will stand and lick a salt block for a good 10 minutes I think we should pay attention. Especially if you are outside in all kinds of weather.

Got called into little brother's school cause he was having chest pains around the region of the heart - doctors found nothing. 2 weeks later, I went to pick him up again and this time he was dizzy with a headache. Doctors found nothing again. He still gets these headaches so I'll try to get him some electrolyte solutions. He does drink a lot of water. Thanks Dr Berg, from 🇿🇦

ALL of these things (well, except blood clots) happened to me about 1.5 years ago. I had to quit work and it took me 6 months to get back to normal. I focused on electrolytes, vitamins and minerals every day.

I had the same exact loud pulse rate, leg cramps and vertigo and fatigue when I tried to fast on water alone. Now I've stocked up on Dr. Berg's electrolyte powder.

Dr. Berg I am so happy I happened upon your channel. I have been having horrible painful Muscle Spasms in my legs my doctor has me on a prescription medicine that I take nightly. I hate when it’s time for bed for fear of the vice squeezing my legs. Thank you so much. Electrolytes is the answer. My doctor will be questioned and told. God always leads us. I do believe ✝️ Bless you sir.

I started having frequent arrythmias (PVCs and PAC's). It was found during an EKG from a routine physical and subsequent treadmill Stress Test. Although the doctor assured me they weren't serious, he couldn't explain why I was experiencing them. I purchase a home EKG device (6 lead) and used it about 5 times a day to try to determine triggers. I found that I was probably low in electrolytes. I started drinking sports drinks daily and the frequency of PVCs and PACs reduced. After 2-3 weeks they've all but disappeared (one instance in the last 10 days). So if you are experiencing arrythmias, try to boost your electrolytes. Caveat: sports drinks actually don't have a lot of electrolytes so you have to boost them. Add a pinch of potassium (from salt substitute) and a pinch of baking soda.
