Loved the video, ordered them myself only to come to the conclusion the speed 3 hood doesnt have the same mountingholes. Could have seen it comming because of the hoodscoop but just quietly hoped it would works without drilling holes. Sad times.
I have a Gen2 Speed3 (MPS in the UK/Aus/EU), purchased a set of very similar ones to these in the video (AliX) just a different brand name. They did fit, albeit slightly angled as there's what I'm assuming is a popper hole for the hood lining (my car has never had hood lining). The one issue I faced was that the Battery Box got in the way of the one on the right, and prevented the bonnet from closing. I removed that and the one on the left works alone just fine. Plus when it goes from the strain, I can use the other as a replacement. 😅 I'll probably try and find one of the smaller ones for the other side, universal jobbie and make it work just to support the left one. Damn shame Corksport stopped doing the bonnet struts.
Yes the hood is fairly stiff to close and when you pull the leaver to pop it there is also a fair amount of tension, like it pops right away, as if it spring loaded.
