Dying Light 1 was one of the first games I played without HUD, on Nightmare difficulty. The first time I tried it, I was terrified. I slowly became accustomed to it and turned out one of the best experiences I've ever had. Strongly recommend it to anyone willing to do a rerun 👌
Growing up, I used to roll my eyes when my dad would say stuff like "they don't make em like they used to." But after 20 years of gaming, I agree...they don't make games like they used to anymore.
DL2 wasn't bad, but, to your point... DL1 was so immersive with the soundtrack and day/night juxtaposition and the parkour mechanics and multiplayer gameplay... it's still a perfect game IMO. DL2 felt like a husk of DL1... and it wasn't bad in and of itself. Just no FPS zombie game comes close to DL1, and that's why it is a top-3 most replayed game of all-time for me.
to me, the most outstanding thing about DL was Crane's voice acting. His actor did a wonderful work. With all those emotions, Crane felt like a *real* human, in the contrast to the majority of modern games. 10:57 that's what I'm talking about
Yeah the setting, the fact the world hasn't ended. The setting in Turkey. It's all very original while dealing with a genre where nothing new existed. DL2 is another post-apocalyptic game. It's like a shitty fallout.
@@peacegamer22I don’t blame him, most games are too scared of the media crying about it and the game getting “cancelled” so it’s not that common to see
The screams of someone burning alive are so distinctive and terrifying. They'd need an extremely talented child VA to recreate that sound for something. It would have been a cool thing to add, though.
@@peacegamer22 ironic coming from someone with a failed youtube channe who also made mobile legends vids. If anyone here's like that, it's definitely you m8
9:08 Your items are seized from you in this part of the game. So we can assume Rais gave you the antizen that you pocketed, rather than crane forgetting he had antizen on him.
Yep, and then playing multiplayer was fucking fun as fuck. 😂 I got this game on a lark and I hate zombie games, couldn't ever resonate with one. This one though, changed my life and opinion. I loved this game 😢
Am i the only one who wants to see the outside version of Harran? It gives me vibes from Dying light 2 when the lights get turned on or its kinda like Cyberpunk i just love it.
@@Valenty-r7p The graphics of the first game are already realistic and actually still look amazing with RTX and max graphics, at least better compared to the Farcry ahh Disneyland graphics in the second one.
Nah, the combat is a complete upgrade, for damn sure. Stamina system is questionable but the expanded movement options are also a net upgrade. Physics, atmosphere, and story/characters were all worse tho.
Nobody can match the atmosphere like the first dying light, never played a game like it before or since then, there was just something about it i cant explain but it was so fresh then and now
32:35 is a reference to Harry Potter, since there's a Broom on the wall, a wizards hat on the bed and he lived in his foster parents house under the stairs.
dying light is like one of those classic and rare games that leave an impression on you, like for example IGN and the old hitman games and other nostalgic games like these
It's the details that make a masterpiece. I just hope that art isn't ever lost... the small things most people don't notice; things that might take hours even weeks of effort... but all together they add up into easily one of the most immersive gaming experiences to date.
Bro, it's already lost, and the detail in the game is only good by today's standards because there's no detail in games at all anymore. Mercenaries for the ps2 had more detail than this AND fully destructable environments. Something no developers even attempt these days. The fact people think this game was great only underscores how much farther we've fallen.
God I have such a deep love for this game. I was at a point in my life where I was obsessed with apocalyptic zombie games and discovered dying light. It was insane how hooked I got to this game. Bought the following and every dlc pack that came out. The atmosphere and eery feeling at night cannot be topped bro. I wish I had my Xbox again to replay it.
23:51 shouldn't be this funny 😭. But also I was wondering if anyone else noticed how the zombies watch the sunlight disappear, I noticed it myself yesterday on like my 167th hour into the game while finishing up some side quest in old town(I guess you can say it's almost like they're watching the dying light... I'll leave.)
Damn I didn't realize that the bandits you kill turn into zombies (or they might've gotten infected by other means but that's less cool lmao) and adds to the mass of the horde as you progress further into game. Im so sorry dying light, I didn't deserve you
1:50 in game lore reason is that at first its just normal people that get infected (that's why it weak), after we play long enough you will know they are other runners like you but died. And other faction too. And the virus is always mutating
@@AdolphHItler-rs1wi alright so I went back and restarted, I've made it to haran, the second area. Have tons of blueprints and crafting supplies. Couple of tips I can give you, regularly see the quartermaster as much as possible for free supplies. Press and hold the search button when doing missions if you can't find an objective, the same goes for crafting supplies, cause that shit is everywhere. Add effects to your weapons for extra damage, also read all the leveling perk points and what they do, some of them are much more effective than others depending on play style. Ammo is rare In the beginning so craft a good melee weapon to deal with volatiles and keep back ups, couple honorable mentions are the volatile baton and the haran weapon set, forget what it's called but you can use a wrench to craft it.
@@joshizfly I just restarted playing it too and I am having a lot of fun while still getting my ass handed to me occasionally, I am getting better slowly and waiting to unlock the grappling hook and I am at the point in the story where you need to get a sample from a certain type of zombie
I’m watching this at 3 am and have to work in a couple hours but I’m straight up playing dying light all week man nothing but it. One of my all time fav games ever made
2:10 i really really enjoy this detail. near the beginning, the zombies are all people who've been dead since the start and some the virals from the initial outbreak are still fresh enough to keep running, everyones mostly wearing normal clothes. at the end of the game, most of the walkers are rais's men, soldiers, bandits or survivors who made it a little longer than the initial outbreak. all of the people killed in the beginning would've slowed down by then so most of the virals you'll see are dressed in runners gear, implying that they died some time post-outbreak
12:00 the game has good 3rd person animations because you can play it as Co-op and see other players characters. So of course the animations has to hold well in 3rd person.
Exactly, feels like the creator didn't even play game themselves, as one of the first things it asks you (multiple times) is whether you want to enable multiplayer or not. Funny thing about the Antizin, the one vial you pocketed was taken by Rais (like all your items), before pitting you wiith an infected Jade against all those enemies, which is why Crane did NOT forget he had a second. The vial Jade gave you was the one you pocketed in the beginning. How did the person behind the video not get it
This game has a special place in my heart, when it came out I’d get home from work as a 16 year old and smoke and play, the nostalgia the feeling of just seeing the game is something I can’t explain ❤️
This game was amazing, firstly is full of details, and secondly is scary as heck, but the biggest highlight is the parkour, now with Tencen involve I don't know what is going to happen the franchise long term....
Aiden was cool but Kyle Crane is a MC you’ll never forget I just bought the enhanced edition of the first game it’s on sale until tonight 12am for 8.99 on Xbox!!
I love videos like this I’ve played this game countless times since the pre-order and I failed to notice almost everything here It gives me a new respect for a game which, to be fair to it, has aged incredibly well and can stand toe-to-toe with the majority of 1st person games that came out after it
I just remember the graphics even on ps4 when it came out were game changing. The atmosphere and feeling like you really are just a helpless dude with an axe was so immersive.
Tolga and Fatin Survive by the way. You get a call from them later. But quickly lose signal. They make it out. It was a great moment for me. I wanted them to succeed in such a crazy endeavor.
1:48 After a certain portion of the game, most if not all Zombies are swapped by their third and fourth variants which are stronger in hp and damage, and also are more aggressive. Third variants have a chance to spawn "elemental" and carrying weapons, they are mostly wearing thicker or less ragged clothes like jackets or fancier outfits, they lunge at you at a greater distance and sometimes even do multiple lunges at once. Fourth variants are Hazmat zombies and industrial zombies, they all wear some kind of very thick industrial or hazardous-proof rubber clothes, they have a much higher chance of spawning as an elemental and are very often carrying melee weapons. Also there is a slim chance of spawning female Fourth variants, but they wear thick jackets similar to the Third variants, making them almost indistinguishable in all but their health. EDIT: Forgot to mention the Fourth variant also includes soldier zombies.
How to make a topseller: 1) have a perfect game, day night cycle, dialogs, evolving zombies, weapon wear, easter eggs... ... 2) flying glitch Ubisoft: Write that down!
Dying Light had impressive graphics. The first time I exited The Tower, my jaw dropped. I had an old graphics card (I think it was a GTX 460), and it started to lag outside the Tower, so I had to lower my settings. But I'll never forget that moment. DL1 featured combat based on physics, which was incredibly fun and offered much more freedom than the AC series. Yes, the crafting system was basic, and the story was straightforward-trying to save the world from the bad guy. But I loved the entire lore, like the concept of the Tower, the Runners, and the Volatiles. However, the best aspect was the game's atmosphere. I loved free-roaming through the city, scavenging just for the sake of it. I would go out at night, imagining I needed to find valuable materials (and go for the drops) like in some missions, and then escape from the Volatiles. The city was beautifully designed, with a lot of details and diversity on the map. Many of the side quests were funny or creepy but, most importantly, very interesting. I'll never forget the moment I entered Gazi's house and saw him sitting with his "mom." It was funny, creepy, and sad all at once. There were also many small gameplay details that you can see on this channel. The entire soundtrack was perfect, fitting the game's atmosphere perfectly. Sadly, DL2, released seven years later, did many things worse. The combat and parkour felt off and much less realistic-I just didn't like it. I completed the full story, did a few side quests, and then uninstalled it. I'll probably never want to replay it like I did with DL1, which I replayed 4-5 times.
The alien easter egg completely atomizing the fourth wall with the one dev losing his shit laughing like mad over the mic really solidifies how much of a labor of love this game was.
yeah definitely i did enjoy dying light 2 but i would rather have a remaster for dying 1 and dying light the following instead of having a dying light 3
The attention to detail! The love poured into every aspect, truly the best zombies game of all time for me. It reminds me of far cry 2 when you should shoot parts of a branch off, the attention to detail in that game made it amazing.
When I hear the song boy run. In the radio to this day, I get this feeling I need to get to a safehouse...in real life...thats wild. Dl music, Is somehow so iconic. That the first few notes , I am right back in the feeling.
I have twice found a glitch where no zombies outside of bridge zombies and a few random patches spawned. No idea how I managed it, but it was honestly pretty cool to run around Harán without worrying about zombies for a while.
This game is absolutely awesome I do have some grievances with continuity errors like the one you mentioned with the pocketed vial of Antizen Crane picks up in one of those early missions Also how when he first contacts the GRE crane makes no mention of how he was jumped and then infected almost as soon as landing And that all the Antizen you had brought with you were smashed by the beating you got And that the GRE doesn’t seem tk give a shit that their operative in Harran is infected and without any Antizen I find it weird. But other than that sort of DEEP nitpick it’s a one in a million game
I always took it that Crane lost the Antizin that he took at the beginning, after all before this scene, Crane got captured by Rais and was looted. Therefore losing the vial. So I thought it was Rais antagonizing Crane into finally using it on either of them.
I think te this "one" antizine what Rais give at museum was exacly this same antizine what Crane put in pocket becouse 1. Rais is psychophat so i dont think the he will give his own atizine and 2. He was take everything from us at these misson. Btw we dont see what Crane do with antizine, maybe he left this on ground and dont take this to pocket 🤷
14:25 Always found it weird how there wasn't a military blockade or something at the end of that section. I mean, it would make sense, it's not like the medical camp didn't have a risk of people turning there, thus needing a backstop of some kind.
The first game i played on my PC in 2022 when i bought it without a GPU 😂 Damn i miss my first moments hearing the music and sounds from the city near the tower... the dropkicks i have done against those nasty virals... using spike traps for killing... maan good old days
