I visited back in March and let me tell you this hotel is way more spectacular in person. The rooms were amazing, the employees were extremely polite and the people were so much fun to be around. This place is top notch and you will not be disappointed.
Just got back from a week long stay at the Hilton and my wife and I had a blast. We loved the friendly, efficient service at this resort. Our room was an ocean front, swim-up suite. It was actually right next door to the swim-up bar. Kinda noisy, but it was convenient just stepping out on to the patio, dropping into the pool and wading up to the bar to get a drink. We got to meet our fellow neighbors and had fun chatting and drinking shots. This video was instrumental in cementing our decision to stay here. Thank you James!
The layout of your room and the lobby honestly made my jaw drop. Both were gorgeous and unique: especially in how neither looked rectangular and with the room the bed was positioned at a sort of diagonal angle: which on paper sounds quite awkward but they truly nailed the feng shui with the synergy between that, the hot tub and the couch. 🙂 And that lobby.................wow. To me it kind of felt as much like a commune as it did a typical hotel commons. I could easily envision something like a yoga retreat, drum circle or a spiral dance happening there. 🙂
You had me at “Hilton” and “Adults Only”. Beautiful property, food looked great, and top notch location. Too bad about the beach. And Karaoke? Yikes 😬 ! Thanks for a great mini-vacation James. Needed it this week
We stayed there when it was The Royal at Playa Del Carmen. Then again after Covid when it was the Hilton. You can’t go wrong staying there and so close to 5th Avenue. The pepperoni pizza at the snack bar near the pool is fantastic! The girlfriend loved the coffee shop and their treats. Also all of the staff are so friendly, helpful, and nice! Everything about that result is elegant. It’s and excellent choice!
I visited this hotel last September and absolutely loved my stay. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were amazing. I had such a wonderful time. I can't wait to return.
@@jonathandavidlopez The sand was soft and the staff did a great job clearing the sargassum. Now, it's a little rocky once stepping into the water. I saw several people hurt their toes because they didn't see the rocks.
Awesome and very useful review. Very to the point and not too long. I wish there were more reviews like this...probably the best review I've watched in a very long time!
I was there at the end of February with my wife and some friends of ours. This was my first trip to all inclusive and to a resort in Mexico so I have nothing to compare it to but we really enjoyed ourselves. The vibe was great and the main pool was a blast. We did splurge for the cabanas tho. I thought the food was really good and I did not have a bad meal. We were there for 7 days and we did not get bored. We did do 3 days where we did some excursions. I would have no problem going back to the Hilton again. Thanks for the videos.
Really appreciated this video. You touched on some areas I would find very annoying had I note known ad choose to stay here (crowded beach + kayak). Thank you!
Many people have told me it is essentially the same. Hilton and Wyndham retained over 90% of the staff, which is INSANE. Never ever have I heard of that after an acquisition. So, generally (and loosely): same staff, same culture, same experience.
Where would you go anywhere in the cancun area (up and down the coast) if you wanted something quieter not the party, nice beach, nice pools, good food, good service, good price, just to relax and disconnect for 3-4 days. THanks
I’m staying here right now and the beach is pretty quiet. For an all adult resort, it is quiet, relaxing and your opinion is yours, not my experience thus far, thx For your video.
A commercial where I rate the property a 3/6 and harshly criticize the beach, entertainment and nightlife options? I think what you attempted to say is that this video style was entirely different because I narrated the whole thing. I switch my video styles sometimes. This isn't the first nor last time I'll do that
There’s actually a third pool called the quiet pool much much smaller than the main pool behind building four right in front of their best restaurant Kalamata. We spent two days at this pool and it was fantastic.
Hello, me and my boyfriend are planning a trip to Mexico for the first time. I'm thinking of Ocean Riviera Paradise, Barcelo Maya Colonial, Hilton Cancun or Hilton Playa Del Carmen. We're not crazy party people, but more of a foodie and love water activities. Could you please recommend any of these?
I know all inclusive doesn't always mean all inclusive. What are some things i should expect to pay for? When i go on cruises we normally throw the bartender 40 bucks the first day and are treated like gold for the whole trip. Is it the same for resorts?
Nothing. It is truly all inclusive. There are options you can pay for like very expensive wine of romantic dinner on the beach a tomahawk steak, etc. but the normal stuff is all completely free of charge. Of course, bring some singles to tip the very accommodating staff.
All standard food and drink are included. Of course you can upgrade to expensive wine, tomahawk steaks, romantic dinner on the beach but not necessary. We just spent five days there. It was absolutely fantastic.
Your good at knowing what good and bad about beach resorts can you go to Egypt sharm el skikh and Hughada and try there beach resorts and make a video??
All inclusive Hotel prices fluctuate based on numerous factors, the two most important being seasonally and occupants per room. Use the links below to find an accurate rate for you tentative dates.
How are the overall vibes in MX there as far safety and morale?? I want to go with my gf but I’m hesitant regarding everything I’ve heard in the news. Love all your videos man!
Have you ever stayed right next door at the Wyndam Alltra? We are there for five days in August. Total cost including airfare was about 2/3 of the price of the Hilton. We chose this location because of its proximity to fifth Avenue.I am happy to see that the beaches are public as one of issues with Wyndham is the small beach, but knowing that I can use the beach in front of the Hilton is a positive.
Ask 100 people what they are doing for fun on a Friday night or what their ideal evening entertainment is on a weekend. How many are going to say karaoke. Absolutely zero. If you love, karaoke, cool - I'm sure the city you live in, the city nearby, and your major metro area has several late night karaoke venues that are popping off on the regular.
That pool looks massively overcrowded with very little shade apart from what I'm sure are overpriced cabanas. No thanks. Teaming with lobster red sunburnt humanity is not my idea of a relaxing vacation.
Review of the Resort: A "Memorable" Disappointment Well, well, where do I begin with my stay at this resort? Let's call it an "experience" - one I'm eager to forget. From the moment you step foot into what claims to be a luxurious haven, you're swiftly transported to what feels more like a cattle farm. Ah yes, the ever-charming wristband - your badge of dishonor. So, if you fancy being an easily identifiable mark for every vendor, potential miscreant, and overly enthusiastic local in Playa del Carmen, this place has you covered! Inside the resort? No escape. It's like being in a relentless sales pitch, but here, the ever-enthusiastic resort staff are the hawkers. Want to relax? Think again. They're always on standby to try and upsell you something. Upgrades, excursions, spa treatments, premium dinners - they're always on the hunt, and you're the prey. Ah, the serenity! But where things truly take a dangerous turn? The so-called "security". For an establishment boasting its exclusivity, the behavior of some guests seemed more fitting for a backstreet bar brawl than a high-end retreat. The open bar? It's more like a ticking time bomb, drawing in unruly twenty and thirty-somethings. With their increasingly aggressive antics and sheer disregard for others' safety, you'd think the resort was auditioning for a reality show on brawls. The "security" team? Oh, they were there, but their indifference and inaction were alarmingly evident. It felt less like a retreat and more like a hazardous obstacle course, where every day brought a new set of challenges to one's personal safety. "Smoke-free", they claimed. Yet the reality was an all-pervasive haze of secondhand smoke, and despite countless complaints, the smoky saga continued unhindered. And don't get me started on the so-called all-inclusive deal. Overpriced restaurants and room service that felt more like a drag than a luxury. At 700-800 euros per night, the returns were pitifully inadequate. Mediocre drinks, a "piña colada" more reminiscent of murky puddle water, and dated rooms that screamed of neglect. My first night? A cacophonous symphony thanks to the ancient air conditioner, forcing an urgent room switch. For a resort that parades itself as 5-star, a hesitant three would be a stretch. The raving reviews and promotional videos? One can't help but question their authenticity and how many palms were greased for those glowing endorsements. In short, if you're seeking luxury and relaxation, this resort is a masterclass in how not to deliver either. Steer clear.
