This Is Why I Don't Play AC7 Multiplayer (Resolved, read pinned comment) 

Hi everyone, it’s been just over a year since I uploaded this video. Yesterday, I received an apology from one of the players featured in the video and I apologized in return. I’m glad to say that this matter has been cleared peacefully and maturely. Along with this, I also asked the player if I should delete the video and they responded with, “No, you don’t have to delete the video. The video has a good message and reminded me just how small and niche this community actually is, and the importance of maintaining a good environment in multiplayer”. Since the new year, I have managed to move on from this petty issue and realized my own faults when it occurred. Unlike what the title suggests, I continue to play multiplayer for both leisure and content creation because it doesn’t make sense to stop playing just because this occurred. It was incredibly childish of me to say that and I apologize for that. Moments like this shouldn’t define our perception of online games nor should they be the way online games are played. I’m really happy that the players and I could resolve this matter and I hope this serves as a learning experience for everyone as it was for me and the players.

Too relatable, people who target are god awful and deserved every EML shot they got. What I find worse is that they tried inviting you to a voice party likely to harrass you, don't act like children guys.

Would like to see massive PVE battles from old Ace Combat Online games. I think having different role aircraft working together would be better than battle royale.

The Su-30 missing because of his buddy's IEWS was gold lmao. Targeting one person can backfire really easily if the one you're targeting is even the least bit competent, because nobody else is getting any points.

My best guess is that they knew one another and you were the odd man out. They were just bullies & nothing more than that. You beat them by winning and you did that solo. Well done. I bet they tried to message you afterwards

Unfortunately I’ve also been teamed on in games but instead of all the ppl having MiG-21s at first, everyone had F-14Ds. Next round they switched to F-22, an F/A-18F, and F/A-18E, and SR-72 Hypersonic Darkstar. They once again all teamed on me. After another round of getting pummeled, I decided I wasn’t going to take that level of disrespect and grabbed a Dassault Rafale M with long range missiles and proceeded to snipe em from each and every corner of the map.

_Yeah._ To be fair: I don't play the multiplayer because it's _good_ -I have a soft spot for really janky cult like PVP games-, but that feeling you get when you come out on top of an impossible scenario like this against other people is otherwise something you could only get from games like Dark Souls or, asymmetric fighting games. It's fun. Really stressful, but fun. And I get why most of the community ignores it lol

When I was new to the game I joined a multiplayer match with an F-14. All the other players were in F-22s and they were targeting me. As you can imagine, with my lack of skill and them using a better aircraft, I was demolished. I simply cannot stand people like this. But I’m glad you were able to teach these guys a lesson. I've always liked Ace Combat Infinity's more co-op spin on the multiplayer content. Instead of just straight up fighting against your opponents, you're simply trying the grind the most points out of all of them, and the missions in the process tend to be the most exciting, especially when that "Sortie Order" pop up comes, it gets me really excited.

Thankfully, I’ve never had anything this bad happen. Although one time one guy always targeted me through 5 matches. As soon as I spawned in, they would target me. On the plus side, I got lots of medals for missile evasion because he was pretty bad. Also, I’m at TGM watch #46.

I used to play AC7 multiplayer back then but because of how skilled many players have become. I still find multiplayer quite fun sometimes but I mostly play project wingman or the 10 last missions in the story mode thingy

One thing I noticed about AC7 multiplayer and because of how limited it is, I'm sick of having to just literally fly in circles (looping top to bottom) just to avoid missiles. Like, that's not how you dog fight at all. Every match everyone and myself just does the same loopy loop.

What they've done here was give you a very target rich environment. You had 3X as many targeting chances than they did. Which gave you the opportunity to change targets to play a little art of war style battle. You didn't see it as you were surrounded you saw it as a golden opportunity to advance in all directions.

Can confirm, I've actually had full zero-score matches while getting focused by 4 people in a supposed "free for all." By zero score matches, i mean, NO ONE scored a point. As in. Not a single shot landed on anyone. I was constantly defending and they were just weaving into me. Not so much as a single gun hit. And I'm pretty confident Tor Fenris was one of them.

Now you feel the pain I’ve felt.

The issue for me when I played AC7's multiplayer is when I had a game said "No specials". I was expecting a fair fight for all comers, and yet I see other players' "standard missiles" lasting longer than usual, almost as if they're the QAAMs. Either this was a hidden thing I wasn't informed about, an upgrade that I don't have, or a cheat of some kind.

We need PvP game modes that require the use of various types of roles, so it isn't just always a META match. A game mode that only allow certain types of fighters. Like bomber and escorts, 2 round matches (one offense round and one defense round), each team has to try to get the highest score by bombing as many targets as possible during their offense round etc. Maybe we could be totally separate maps and highest score wins, after the timer. I can think of a lot of modes to make it fun!

Gaming is meant to be fun. And holy jesus christ if that wasn’t some beautiful dogfighting by you, I don’t know what is.

I find using the EML is quite difficult, only the experienced can land hits with that powerful gun. I noticed playing around with the EML at one point, in a tight dogfight you can use the machine gun reticle to time your EML shots too. 🙂 Nothing quite like hitting a plane with a railgun. Its like hitting them with an armour piercing lighting bolt ⚡ 😁

I know all too well what that is like. I've been harassed, bullied, and very much targeted in the multiplayer modes. Especially from QAAM and EML spammers. I hate it. I rarely play multiplayer now because of it. It is people like those guys that make the game very unfun. Especially for new people. I'm not a new player by any means, but when you are using other aircraft to expand your skill and combat roster only for some ass in an F-22A, ADF-11F, or an X-02S to come in and just wipe like that isn't fun. It doesn't take skill to win matches in those OP aircraft. It takes skill to win matches in literally anything else. Get good with a diversity of aircraft. There are over 60 in the game I believe. People need to learn how to have fun in multiplayer instead of ruining everyone else's fun. Sorry for the rant, but I have suffered WAY too much for me to just not leave a massive comment.

Man... I feel you. Not too long ago, I came back to the multiplayer on Xbox side, and last time I got bullied by the top player in a high rank lobby with SPWs disabled, probably because I was "the weakest". The guy wasn't even caring on winning during that specific match. He got 3rd, but I got last, because he was targeting me all the time, denying me to attack anybody. Where's the fun on that? Bruh...

AC7 MP is hell. I’ve tried it a couple times. Almost everyone is in either a DLC God vehicle like the ADF-11 or supermanuverable ones like the X-O2S and Su-30SM. Then they always use QAAM, EML, TLS, or PLSL

I have love for aircraft as a whole and even used to wrench on 18s so i get how you came up on my feed but i can say you have a great skill on flying. You definitely got my sub. Hopefully this isn't a too common thing. i never was able to get many of the AC games due to work and finances. Godspeed and clear skies, brother.

I got into AC7 again recently. And I wasn’t really sure if I should get ps+ for the multiplayer. This video made me decide to just play the campaign and do the platinum. Hopefully MP will get better on the next installment.

An easy way to frustrate people is to use the massive air burst missiles to deal 2% damage to one player, and then just dodge everything the rest are throwing at you. I have a super defensive build with exactly that in mind. Nothing will annoy them more than you winning off a stupid gimmick and them being able to counter it by literally playing the game properly for three seconds.

There's a reason why I took an oath to myself on how to treat each lobby fair, depending on who's in it.

Well done, people like these deserve to get EML. I, too, only use my EML build as a last resort when the enemys' behavior is too toxic, or when a lot of them use EML too

Man this reminds me of a time where some people where doing a TDM and i thought "Ok this seems like it's going to be a fair balanced game" then next thing the 3 people on my team left leaving me with 1v4 and i was in a Mig-31B (Dogfighting build) so they all came after me even though the other 2 players were low levels but i ended up killing them and the 2 rookies left after a few kills on them but the other 2 which were high rank players one of them were using ADF-11F (w/UAV's) and the other guy was in the F-15S/MTD (w/HPAA's) and surprising enough i was actually killing them even though yes they were skilled but they couldn't handle my Mig-31B and they ended up quitting right before the timer hit zero and funny thing was they we're 14,000 points on there team and me having 125,000 points (Which TDM has a maximum of 200K points). Now how bad do you have to be to lose to a Mig-31B in a dogfight while in the ADF-11F and F-15S/MTD?. EDIT: the 3 people on my team left before the game even started and yes i did feel bad for the low level players i meant no disrespect to them.

This hits personally seeing this, as it has happened to me and is the reason I mainly don't play AC7's mp anymore. I might on on occasion just to run a funny theme build like the Red Comet build. But people are so overly emotional and love teaming and the funniest part is these are grown men(mostly) acting like kids.

I got a three day ban on live because I out flew some players who were using 22's and SU's with my trusty F-4. Got reported for cheating. My buddy was in the lobby with me and laughed. His words exactly, "They were just salty cause they were hot garbage." Haven't been too keen to play around with it since. Too many try hards getting mad due to someone actually knowing how to play an Ace Combat game. And before anyone starts anything, I am OK at the game. Been playing them since Air Combat on the PS1 so I know more than a few tricks but still wouldn't say I am a master at any.

THIS. NEARLY EVERY MATCH. It’s completely bad for these types of players to ruin the fun for others. AC7’s multiplayer is already bad with the rules thrown out of the window and yet these players are pushing it. It’s only why I ever touch the Multiplayer if it’s with with friends only. Good on ya for coming out on top in that unfair situation.

Certainly been in this kind of situation before. My reactions whenever it happens tend to vary wildly from each case, but I can make 2 reliable observations across all of them. *SP.W Enabled targetings are almost always a dreadfully miserable experience,* as there are so many BS ways you can die to unbalanced weapons (F-22 QAAMSPAAM, X-02 casually deleting someone on the other side of the map in a fraction of the second, ADF-11 UAV swarms) while SP.W Disabled targetings are much more enjoyable and can be a good challenge, as it's much more purely down to the skill of the players, but there are still clear 'meta aircraft' to use in SP.W Disabled matches (Su-57, Rafale M, Su-35S, and Su-30SM), and deviating from the meta can cause a world of headaches. I know this firstand as I'm an F-14A main in a world of Raptors, Flankers, Felons, and Belkan supercraft. AC7's SP.W and just overall Aircraft balance is completely off the kahoots, as: A: There are aircraft that simply put are not competitive in any capacity regardless of whatever part combination you put on them compared to the group average, while there are also aircraft that are objectively among the most braindead and / or overpowered. Among the most useless are the F-16C, MiG-31B (following the inclusion of the Darkstar), and A-10C, while among the most blatantly Overpowered include the F-18E TGM, X-02S, and ADF-11, and the most Braindead include the F-22, Darkstar, and again the ADF-11. B: DLC aircraft seem to sometimes get overshadowed by future DLC aircraft (Powercreep), example being when the TG:M DLC came out, as the TG:M F-18E was superior to the previously-added F-18F Block III in almost every way when it came to airframe performance, and has better SP.Ws to choose from for Multiplayer. (The F-18F Block III [And the F-2A Super Kai] felt as if it was meant to be used exclusively in Campaign, while the F-18E TG:M felt tailor made for MP.) C: The X-02S was designed to be the most OP aircraft in the entire game *intentionally*, because one of the directors had liked how the Strike Wyvern looked so much, so it can be reasonably assumed that the Wyvern's stats were forcibly buffed during development because of developer bias. This is fine in the context of older Ace Combat games like 4, 5, and 0, where online multiplier didn't exist at the time and you had to look for the parts to make the prototypes in the missions, but in AC6, where Online battles were introduced, they specifically addressed this problem by making it optional to ban the CFA-44 in lobbies. True, you have to beat the game to unlock the X-02 for purchase, but that's about it. The ability to ban certain aircraft is obviously absent in AC7 Multiplayer, and I guarantee the state of MP would be much better if this had been done. (Much less EML X-02, UAV ADF-11, and QAAM F-22 spam). As a side note, being able to ban certain special weapons likely would have also helped, but that may be going a bit far.

This is the perfect showcase of how not to play battle royale, or team deathmatch. I personally really enjoy multiplayer and had a good games. One of them is on my channel showing the good, more often seen side of multiplayer. Of course I had games like this, but it meant easy first place. That's why i mainly use two aircrafts. X02S because of the stats and Darkstar, because unless you have HVAA you can't take it down no matter what. That also increases the fact I use Next gen pressure componets lvl.2 and variable cycle lvl.2, that makes it a litteral speed demon. But I would tell you to give it a few more tries, because you'll encounter more games played the right way (everyone vs everyone) then the one you recorded (one vs everyone else)

Basically Multiplayer sometimes I would usually use Adfx-01 and MPBM because I can just ram them while releasing the MPBM.

I did it back then in PS4. When I got all the multiplayer achievements, I stopped playing AC7 multiplayer already at that time.

Sooo...? Lets seee if I understand what happened. The match was supposu0ed to be 4 players 1v1v1v1 But instead 1+1+1 were in a party working together and the match was therefor essentially 3v1? does that sound correct?

I never had this happen to me before (I’m a PC player, however so idk if this plays into it) so honestly KUDOS to you for handling it so well. I normally would feel some semblance of guilt if I flew a Raven, F-22 or the Wyvern but if I were to bump into a lobby full of scumbags like these then all bets would be off lol ..also these people were so bad it’s not even funny lmao

As soon as I saw the Wyvern with EML, I know you activated the Gamer Lean on your seat. Even after all of the outrageous DLC planes we've gotten over the years, the Wyvern + EML combo remains as the one combo where pretty much everyone who sees it goes "Ok, that guy's done playing around. He wants to win". Still the best PvP build in the game by far.

i’ve had this happen a couple of times to me while winning but also losing some. it’s the reason why i keep separate lower rank builds depending on the ranks/builds/skills of other people in the lobby so i don’t accidentally ruin the fun of everyone. i got my own personal rule where if i win two matches in a row then i’ll leave to a different lobby. it’s just not fun seeing the same guy win over and over again. great eml gameplay tho 👍

Yea this happens to me too tbh I think the targeted player should use eml and I've seen u before dark tailsman ^^ but the reason is because it balances out like not as payback but to genuinely balance the game as it's something extremely powerful vs a bunch of things that aren't as powerful

The short time I played online, I usually used the Darkstar. Kept flying circles around the map. Nobodys missles could touch me. I was shot down a few times, only because I slowed down.

You fight like me! Ha! I had 3x QAAM builds, and cut two of them, because I realized that you dont need QAAMs to win. Same thing with PLSL and UAVs. Started practicing with the EML and now have two builds for "proving a point" to a difficult crowd haha Using weapons that require patience and skill make the win truely sweeter

This happens to me all the time. I lost my account it had every plane (except the store bought ones) so I bought the adf 11 because I hate grinding for a long time and I heard it was good. Now I immediately get kicked after I win a match im not even that good :(

relatable, since i always use the X-02S and theres F22 Rapters with 8AAMS its unfair since my loadout on my aircraft is a Railgun which i dont use to be fair

I cannot relate. I have not experienced this yet. Maybe it's cause I don't play multiplayer as much anymore after the population dropped and sitting in lobby sucks. I do use mig 21 mpg build a lot. I also like playing as an F4 to make things challenging for me.

When I first entered the match, I wasn’t feeling frustrated when I was taking L’s. Mostly cause my goal there was to get the emblems of the Ace Combat Zero aces.

This is why I've never liked competitive modes in AC games. AC6 was very similar, F-22 with QAAM's was what 99% of players used and ganged up on people with. I'd prefer Project Aces to put Co-op modes in the next game.

The good old snake pit gameplay, it always turns into doing circles and loops for 10 minutes, would be more interesting if no one could go above 1000-2000 feet.

This is why I just stick to the Rafale and Gripen, nobody bothers me.

i remember back when used to play ac7 MP that i would always get people to use their reverse sweep wing aircraft simply because i would keep up with their f-22 in my f14d lol, so annoying but so funny too
