This is why I keep old PC Hardware! X470 Coming out of Retirement!! 

I'm holding off on spending money and giving my CH VII Hero Wifi a refresh. I've been using it as a VM server including RX 6750XT passthrough. The VRM are beasts on them, but the PCIe is 3.0 with the annoying 2nd M.2 diverting the gfx x16 to x8. My GFX card is PCIX 4.0 x16 and I've been running it in 3.0 x8 did to running both M.2 slots. Other inefficiencies on my slot usage are trivial. NVME is cheaper than when i got it, so I'm dropping a 4TB into the single M.2 then ruining x16 3.0 PCI... The x8 AMD 3.0 together looks to have benchmarks showing many games with 5-15% hits. 3.0 x16 seems fine for that card. X470 vs modern boards with PCI 4.0 is a real debate for each use case. Bifurcation of PCI or multiple m.2 might matter to some people as better gfx may not limp by as well in some lane scenarios on 3.0. I'm going to get something newer later and overclock the old 3900x in a non-Gaming setup on this mobo when the time comes.

Hi Bro, same as you I found a non used Crosshair 7 here at my home. Didnt use it because it didnt recognised my cpu was not compatible without a bios updare,I was in a hurry and bought a x570 board. That was a big mistake X570 was horrible, especially the small high revving chipset fan was a horror. I sold my whole pc and got rid of the horrible x570, now I recognise how beautiful and performant the Crosshair 7 is, with a 5800x3d and a strong GPU its a monster system.I can update the bios with a usb stick without any gpu installed, just have to connect some power to the mobo. I will also buy some good ram, overclock it and set a low latency , like cl14. There is no need for the AM5 platform, a system like this will be fine till AM6 comes out. The new motherboards are crazy overpriced, for a few percent more performance this is crazy.

I have the asus crosshair x570 and love it........BT is good on it aswell. Hope it works out for you brother
