Bang is such a gigachad. Had his face slashed up by Jin in a duel years ago, but is still willing to work with him like an adult because there's no point bearing that grudge.
I always liked how Alter Memory gave us a better insight of how building, structure, the people, and pretty much the world of Blazblue looked and worked. Yeah, the anime was.... mediocre, and it was mostly as a retelling AND to see more animated stuff of this world (little quality though), but I appreciate how I could see the stuff withing Blazblue more closely.
*insert Alter Memory never happened joke like how Tsukihime fans do* It had a lot of mistakes. But with their treatment of Bang and Lambda.. They hit the nail there. ... Please don't hurt me.
Talking about the nonexisting Tsukihime adaptation the ost is divine . Also I agree, Bang and Lambda were well characterised, while the ones I was most disappointed with were Arakune and Litchi .
It would only prove my point... Jin Creeparagi can't do ANYTHING without his sword. He also is an inferior character with a GIANT EGO that exceeds his INFERIOR abilities. Yeah I WOULD say it to his face IN his face cause Jin IS a pussy.
@Groisu It only works in his world plus there are characters FAR more interesting AND deserving of the spotlight then Jinny bear. Plus he still lets his sword control so he can't use his power to the fullest extent anyway. Also if Jin's so good why did he get his ass handed to him by Susano'o? You know a GOD? Looks like you overestimate Jinny poo just like he overestimates himself.
The sheer amount of character development Bang got made him so much more than the silly overzealous ninja he was in CT. Really sad he didn't make it into BBCTAG
I love how this anime shows more of the characters personalities. I'm grateful to the anime to show me this side of Bang, because in the game I didn't really like him.
in my opinion, i feel like the anime did exactly the opposite of that. there were so many characters and plot points they tried to squeeze into 12 episodes that it was impossible to develop the characters the way they needed to be. watchers of the anime wouldn't know that, in addition to being one of if not the most honorable BlazBlue character, bang is also a lovable dumbass. Both bits were part of his charm. watchers of the anime wouldn't know that in addition to being a cold, calculating, and seemingly heartless warrior, Hakumen has a soft spot for Tsubaki because of his history. I feel like the anime's only really enjoyable if you already know the characters and just want to see bits of the game portrayed in some admittedly chilling scenes. What comes to mind is Tsubaki killing Jin, Tsubaki vs Noel, Makoto persuading Noel not to chase Tsubaki, and Jin vs Tsubaki the second time.
No, Jin. You're just jealous of Bang's MANLINESS and the fact Bang Shishigami outshines you in EVERY WAY POSSIBLE! I'd bet he'd use AND pull off the Suzano'o unit FAR better than YOU ever could but I digress.
You're right, you're a creepy jackass sleezball, e how's that? But I will acknowledge your character growth, no matter how small it is, but hey a little growth is better than nothing' eh creepy bot?
Superior in what, in being a creepy sleezeball loser? Your Swordsmenship is the only thing that saves you from being irrelevant, that and the future where you fight that idiot girlfriend of yours where you show AWESOME character development. You'll never outshine BANG SHISHIGAMI though but at least you're better than a certain LOLI creep lurking about...
Clinton James yes but if you smile you can look ahead to a future where you can be a shining example for the people who will witness you. Will you let the past consume you or smile and March forth?
Bang is a terribly written character. He's at his most interesting in CT when he was written as a parody of Japanese action protagonists, complete with really obnoxious and creepy character traits, but not only did Mori bail on this concept utterly and play Bang boringly straight from CS on, but Bang also never actually lost the traits that used to be highlights of his awfulness but are now just really problematic aspects of a character whom the audience is asked to respect. He's basically a monogamous version of Kagura. Imagine being Kagura, but worse. Goddamn... Mori directed a great game series, but he's still a hack of a storyteller.
You make some interesting points, but I respectfully disagree with you on Bang's Traits. To me Bang starts off as a character that is a silly yet positive character that develops over time to be an AWESOME contender and important to the story because without him, Ragna wouldn't have been able to defeat the Tagamikazuchi giant all the while maintaining his silly yet positive quirks that made him the loveable lug he is. I do agree that Bang was poorly written and Mori needs help in the story telling department, but as far as Bang is concerned, I love that manly ninja, no homo. But you raise some valid points about Bang being poorly written.
