I called a few dealers and I asked if they would accept a pre buy inspection but most of them refused. Why is that? It confused me a lot why they refused.
Calvin how do i get in touch with you i have a s3 but i need it looking at somthing not right would appreciate you getting in touch to discuss it many thanks in advance
Most reasonable buyers accept that there will always be issues with used cars but if dealt with by the seller in a timely manner with communication then they are happy. ( Exactly what you do Calvin which is why you are successful and a great guy).
I've got the same S3 saloon but manual and standard. I've changed the thermostat coupling and water pump as they are common to go on these. The hatches came with 18's and the Saloon with 19's and on the pfl saloons there are usually 2 different styles of 19's, the wingarms which I have on mine and the ones that look like the 18's on the hatches (I think they are a lighter wheel)
Another good upload Calv, it was good to look into the less pleasant side of being a used car dealer, fair play to all those in industry. Btw, stock wheels would look clean on the S3 👌
I had a S3 exactly the same color/year with 50k on clock and had major problems with it losing coolant and the rear caliper was knackerd so 2 common problems mate
Think the stock saloon s3 wheels suit the car for sure for me Calvin! Its always annoying when you buy or sell a car and then there are problems. All you can do is deal with it best you can. I've been on both ends. No doubt your service was top drawer. It happens. You just keep moving forwards.
Calvin, what's the cheapest automatic car you have on sale with low road tax petrol only I am now 71, I have just sold my jaguar which i drove for over 13 years now all my kids left home all need is little car... From a top seller ,
My used S3 was amazing but after 2 years I had possible water pump issue on its way. Common faults are air con condenser damage from not replacing dryer cartridge, Haldex issues, water pumps, timing chain stretching, mag ride suspension issues and also know of a 2016 S3 which had a rear diff seize while being driven. Audi quoted £7000 to fix. Audi dealers don't like taking cars over 3 years old as one put it "year 5 is problem time". Golf R has similar issues as the cars are pretty much the same. Used / trade in prices drop off a cliff after 5 years as well.
Brilliant content. Little update in bincas dealings. And calvs RU-vid. That s3 is a pretty serious car stage 2 tune 👌 how much was the battery rig for the tezwhiz? Really contemplating buying it.
Great Attitude cars go wrong there mechanical ⚙️ great that you refunded more dealers should take note! Great content good luck in your new premises pal
I’m thinking of taking my 2012 Audi RS3 to VRS to have them do a Haldex service as if he’s good enough for Calvin then that’s good enough for me … I may have to join a queue though I’d imagine 👍
I paid 5k for a Jaguar from a dealer within 2 days the car broke down and the dealer wouldn’t help at all told me to take it to a garage it’s not their problem !
I had a very similar problem. Bought a car from a Motor Trader 2 hours away. After two weeks the car made a rattling sound. I went to a garage and they said the water pump needs replacing. However, the garage said they can't replace the water pump as a special tool is needed. I asked another garage, they said the same thing. I called the dealership and they quoted me £700. I called the motor trader I bought car from, they said to bring the car back to them. Thought to myself if there's another problem I will have to do the 2 hour journey. So I asked for refund and the motor trader accepted.
I bet that rattle is that the rear engine cover, I had that same noise on my old bmw, only heard it when it was stationery or on reverse stragley enough but yeah... defiantly on my car it was the rear engine cover, as you slotted the main engine cover into the rubber grips in the rear one use to put the rear cover away as there was a bolt missing that held it down so just use to vibrate all the time then
Like your style Calvin,, had a car go wrong on me and dealer seemed he didn’t want know,,, the insurance I got with the car , was meant cover every thing but actually was worth a carrot , and if it did pay out it was half the bill ! Still more like you needed👍🏻
I’ve bought a BMW e46 from this place in September, had the car for a month and the engine had major oil leaks in the engine, to solve the issue it would of cost more to repair or replace the engine than what I’ve bought the car for, had to sell the car for scrap value. Very unfortunate as this dealership operate with auction terms which meant there was no way I could do anything about this issue. It was one of my dreams cars too!
The unit that the 135i was in at the start would be a good unit to possibly get a graffiti wall on and good lighting to get some great quality pictures when advertising cars online🤟
Ca;ipers sticking happens,it's done it happened when I had new discs and pads gioy in the car and the caliper ,because it had retracted back where it gadn't been for a while sticj etc.
I bought a 335i and the day I drove it away EML light. Dealer refused to take back the car or pay for repairs. So far have spent over 6k on it, and will need an additional 5k to rebuild engine. Trying to bring this dealer to Court, but I would also like everyone to be aware of them and dodgy business as this has happened to many others. If anyone can help me out let me know!
Please someone help ! Hi what do you do if a mechanic has done a job but there's still the same problem and I was told they put new coolant in my car but when I checked it was old dirty coolant feel the stress hate dealing with mechanics man like this
If its the same as a mk7 golf r suspension I have a full set of mag ride suspension I took of mine when I fitted my coilovers. More than welcome to them 👍
Calvin...i am another car dealer i am more honest than the pope, and i have never given so many people there money back as i have lately! God knows why but people are so fussy and want a perfect as new car for as little money as possible. My moto...if they are making your life hard just refund them because you will always sell the car to someone else and the headaches gone.
Exactly why is decided not to go into vehicle sales, was going to pick a van up last week, the industry is just too risky. Good luck to anyone that wants to do it, the numbers just don’t add up for me personally.
Awesome video calv, personally put the s3 back on original wheels. Both beautiful cars. The bmw wins it for me tho 👍 keep up the awesome work mate. P.s make sure u don’t make yourself bankrupt giving away so many great cars haha
Is it 12 months the law in UK says a dealer has to refund car if customer returns it with a fault? It seems crazy and a lot of people don't know their rights but law provides an opportunity to return cars if you buy from a dealer no matter what goes wrong in that time wither they sell you warranty or not makes it difficult for dealers but that's the law
If you take the A5 north from Stony to Towcester be careful, I’ve never seen so many pot holes on a stretch of road, some of your low profile tyre cars might not like it
@@stevenc5227 they have been working on it for weeks but rather than do anything about the rocky caverns you have to play Mario kart to avoid, they’ve been resurfacing other parts with high grip material, and repainting the lines. They’re also working on the towcester bypass which will start with a roundabout where the whittlebury turn was and I’ll be so glad when that’s finished but I really wish they’d pay some attention to the pot holes
For any car we we sell we strip down the brakes all round! The rear caliper should of been picked up in my opinion. I no that's not the reason for return but that is basic what should of been picked up.
