I tried to lab Johnny for rollback with the mentality of "He cant be THAT hard right" and then gave up within an hour. He is that hard so I instead scurried back to my Ky Kiske safe space. To all the godlike Johnny players, I hate you and well played because holy shit y'all are on a different level.

idk, strive has better animations, not designs (at least most of them is worst than xrd) or color, just animations, that's one of the few things strive has over xrd

The new moves that you're asking about are called marteli and forpeli, she got them in Rev 2. They recall the swords (if deployed) and swing with them. Marteli is the S sword one, it's -5 on block and used for frametraps

Some other thing that make Johnny #1, Zweyrc, that zweihander he knocks people down with the first hit in the air. Used on the ground he flies forwards and the second hit is a projectile with (effectively) unlimited vertical range. YRCs are cheaper than other Roman cancels and can be done off of projectile hits so johnny flies into your face and is plus or gets a combo (2:10) for a quarter bar. Additionally his dash (with toe invincibility) can be cancelled into throws or attacks before the animation is over like makoto in street fighter, allowing him to dash yrc or dash fd into throw, but he can fd and block after to make it less committal and bait responses. Very strong

What i noticed that makes Johnny really strong even when used by noob like me is how wide his attack range are but at the same time you can sort-of button mash it as well, i don't remember other character that both have range and viable for button mashing at the same time.

this thesis would be interesting if every championship produced Johnny players in official finals but unfortunately they are few or one and they are usually veterans with the character. He is not a new accessible character with basic combos to execute with excessive damage. there's fried chicken for dinner today

I was smiling throughout this whole vid and then my smile dropped when I heard Nago is the Johnny of Strive - I will not accept such slander!!! I would play Strive more often if Johnny became DLC, he wont be the same but this game just reassures you that Johnny is very much appreciated in GG and definitely deserves a spot in the DLC line-up. Sooner or later he will come or at least I hope he does.

So i just got the game on steam and all i had was a switch pro controller that i've only been using for MHGU and i just wanna ask is this shit supposed to go all over the place? I'm trying to do combos and my guy will either jump across the screen or just flat out not do what I'm trying to do? Idk if it's drift and i can't find a way to fix dead zone without even knowing if that the problem to begin with. Should i just get a stick or an xbox/ps controller instead?
