I remember being a freshman in High School our girls team was one of the top teams in the State. They challenged our freshman team to a scrimmage and we literally toyed with them. It was like playing against children.
No lies told. I am a middle aged man with knee surgery. I once put together a team of total misfits and we beat women’s college soccer team in a small sided tournament. I was quite proud to be honest since we lost every other game lol
Same thing happened at my school, except when the 5’ 11’ post kept trying to back me down in the post I got a huge wood and was trying not to let her ass bang against it so I wouldn’t get fronted out in practice. Lmao….. traumatizing hahaha oh and we literally destroyed them. Their coach stopped it after 20 minutes.
Same story. Our girl's varsity was #1 in the state when the Freshman boys played them in an exhibition game. At halftime it was 66 - 3. They generated their miniscule points from free throws and were only able to get off a handful of shots from the field. We probably could have laid 100 by half, but our coach dictated we stopped driving to the rim, stopped pressing, and stipulated that we could not steal the ball from the girls as they dribbled. Looking back, it was an embarrassing event to be part of. It should have never happened. Girls were crying, parents were yelling, and the coaches were getting verbal with each other. We ended up not playing the 2nd half. Probably for the best. I'm all for men and women to have equal opportunities to participate in any sport. However, at the collegiate and professional levels, it's a business. A big business. The market dictates what your skill set is worth. When very few people are interested in watching you play, the money isn't there. You don't get paid.
That's the crazy part. This league has been given all the juice - subsidized by the NBA, promo'd by the NBA, NBA commentators, and still can't get traction.
The WNBA is an inspiration to my grandma. She was paralyzed for 13 years but one day while a WNBA game was on the TV she was able to get up and go turn it off.

...I saw a full game once. At the end of the game, it 24 to 32. I actually made a sandwich, got a drink, some chips and the score hadn't change in 30 minutes. I love the WMBA!!
Story time: I have never played professional basketball - not in high school, college, or after. I've always loved basketball, shooting around, pickup games at lunch, but that's it. My social circle used to have professional basketball players in it, and I had an opportunity to 1v1 a WNBA player about 15 years ago. I was expecting to get beaten down...but long before the internet got into it, I noticed that she was just slower than I was. She had tight form, but everything was just...slower. Dribbling, shooting, moving - slow enough that I was able to dominate her. I've never watched WNBA, but I've heard stories that people have offered money for WNBA teams to play boy's high school teams - I can believe it. If an amateur basketball nerd can take down a WNBA player, actual basketball players have no comparison.
Basketball absolutely unfit for women to play competitively. The very first test of basketball is height. And women-athletes throughout sports tend to be SHORT and SLIM, with BOY-like figures. They literally play at the 7th grade level. The only people who will watch are friends, family, and people who got free tickets and couldn't find anything else to do. It has all of the competitive energy of overboiled spaghetti, and is just as visually engaging.

I’ve never bothered to watch a game bc it’s embarrassing to see them perform at such a low level, but I did see a clip of a parade they put on for the “champions” a few years ago. The street was lined with about 20 people to watch. There are many other women’s professional sports that are top flight in performance. This fiasco just turns potential viewers away from them.

The next day the window was repaired over night but somehow the 2 tickets multipled to 8 wnba tickets.

In the NBA, the announcers say, "way off the mark," "airball," I've even heard, "terrible," "horrible," etc. and open and harsh criticism. In the WNBA, everything is a "misfire," no matter how horrible it is. If the game is just as good, why do announcers treat athletes like children who can not be criticized? If WNBA athletes were treated with the same level of agency, accountability, and equality as the NBA players, the announcers would be fired under claims of misogyny. Accountability = misogyny in contemporary feminism.
