I enjoy Skate 3 as much as the next guy, but man if Skate 1 doesn't just feel great to play. I thought I'd hate the camera angle being so low, but it being so close to the board itself helped me learn and get better at the tricks. Plus, the way the game feels and presents itself is just amazing.
I loved skate 1 because the aesthetic truly made me feel like and want to be a skater, and I loved how you could travel to the different parts of the map instead of just teleporting like skate 3
I love skate 1 I have it on the shelf but I'm way into Skate 3. Wish they would do a remake of Skate 1 and add create a park and able to get off your board. Promise you it will be a whole new atmosphere. Skate 1 even if you can't get off th board was so sick, still is, WHY DID IT LOOK BETTER THO GRAPHICS WISE lol😂
Love the red wood on the deck. I hope 4 has CRAZY amounts of board customization. Sticker placement, all 4 wheels inward/outward, wood color, even deck shape? A retro cruiser would be cool as fuck. Longboards too, but probably just keep the controls the same for longboards
The only thing 2 and 3 have on 1 is more tricks and being able to walk, the rodney mullen style tricks flatland tricks were definitely a sick addition for skate 2, can't remember what they added for 3, but just remember people always just doing goofy shit in that game, which is fine, but for a skateboarding im more into clean simple smooth lines with small trick not massive inward heelflip 540s going 40mph and shit ya know
Yes the industry really loved coloring in the world back them but no, Skate 2 had a more alive and interesting landscape with much weirder and cooler vistas. I remember going from Skate 2 to 1 and being very confused like, this was where they started? Quality game though it's just wow that environment was just not all that inspired despite being pretty nice to look at for the year it came out in.
@@Jaasss damn dude I restarted 1 last year and got so hyped at him in the intro, and his name/shoe ad in the Adidas store walls. His styles so good in game
I remember skating my tail off for a handful of years, i got to middle school and this game hit. I had grown up playing all the TH Pro Skaters and Undergrounds etc Project 8 is what pushed me away from those games till Skate 1 dropped. Back then unless you were in the know about the videogame scene games didnt get much hype to the average kid till it hit the shelves especially smaller cities and towns. It was a game changer. I can almost go back to that time, me and my buddies stacking our boards against the wall coming inside drenched in summer sweat chilling out in the AC for a bit to play Skate with the boys with Harder Than You Think blasting from that heavy ass fat ass TV. Life is different now for sure. Thanks for the video it was cool seeing spots i havent seen in years.
@@Jaasss Thanks dude. It's kinda crazy how now putting everything together the planning it must've taken and the genius behind the storyline going in order. Skate 1, find fame in skating, skate 2, new San van, more to explore, plus the MC just gets out of prison. skate 3, gets hit by a bus, dies, and is now dreaming or dead. But nevertheless still a mystery until proven otherwise.
I have never hated NPCs more in my life then when I tried this game for the first time 💀💀 so glad they added a punch button in skate 3 was much needed DAYUM 😭
Graphics were decent for the time, but unless this is heavily edited it shows why they WEREN'T the best. Massively over saturated in some areas, under saturated in others, and has a weird color shifting as you move to different zones. That's ignoring the awful camera angle and character that keeps going invisible because why move the camera back 2 inches when you could go inside of your skater?
So I beat the game then seen this video and being impressed with your gameplay. I then replayed skate a few days after beating it and somehow ended up getting better. I actually feel like this video isn’t as impressive anymore. Those are some basic tricks. And I hate the character you are playing as. 🖕his art
If skate 2 got graphics update and an extra ad on it would be the best skate game of all time well actually Tony hawk was lit back the. Too but best skate was 2
Been playing just session because i did everything in both skate 1 and 3(gotta track down a copy of 2 tho for the xbox 360 so i have all of them done and collected) in preparation of skate 4 so me looking at this went from “Oh bullshiiiiit it didnt look like that” to me checking on my xbox and going “yea im dumb it does”

nope skate 2 had more realism to it it had realistic spots, capping on rails and ledges,pools with water you can drain out, you can get off your board and skate 2 had really nice sounds like you can hear the skateboards bolts making noises
@@Jaasss reda lol but i mean the game camera itself - the art style helps too the menus look amazing skate 3’s isn’t as dynamic as 1 or 2’s - plus the base angle can actually break if you respawn next to a wall or something ive found lol
