The Duchess of Edinborough has become a favourite, among royal watchers everywhere; although we knew so little about her, she has certainly worked hard along with her husband the duke! Sophie and Edward also had haters and detractors in the early days. There was a time when they were brutally attacked and victimised just as h and m are now. It was not as brutal as the hating and vitriolic that is allowed now however by people who never met them Nevertheless as Edward said during an interview when asked about Harry and Meghan I can absolutely relate, we were dreadfully hurt by media in the early days. Everything we tried to do was brought into question , were were not allowed to make the mistakes that other young married are afforded. …….. My opinion is that the fact that Meghan was American and biracial made a huge difference to the amount of hate levelled at the couple. Forced to flee because of English press who are brutal they are then subjected to a level of hate which to my mind might bring the perpetrators a hefty quota of really bad karma. Sophie was attacked by press because she came in to charities and tried to modernise, she had the experience, but was forced to sit back and shut up.sound familiar. At the time it caused a stink. I’m sure the bare facts are recorded in Wikipedia. Then too the establishment threw them under the bus. Edward was ridiculed because he was trying to modernise the image but they put a stop to it .b Harry tried but the6 stopped him too. I think Sophie is getting better all the time. She is very beautiful and they have a wonderful family. Prince Edward and Sophie seem like really nice people and I would enjoy being friends or family with them and Prince William and Princess Catherine are the kind of people that I would enjoy being related to and I would love to be their friends or family too. We all have family members who do things to hurt our feelings or are unkind to us or we are just too different in our thinking and behavior that no matter how hard we have tried to get close to them and be one family they just reject us for some unknown reason. My husband and I were married for 43 years but the last 2 years he fought Pancreatic cancer with Liver metastasis and some family members were downright cruel to us and some ignored what we were going through and some couldn’t have been nicer and more supportive. Different people feel differently about what they think is right or wrong behavior. But going through cancer with a wife or husband or a child is the hardest thing you will ever have to do. We all should try to be better and kinder people. Life can be very difficult and some people have to suffer terrible tragedies, pain and suffering. Even Royal families have their sadness and loss and they should be allowed to mourn as they feel the need without criticism.
Commendable. Kudos to her for her work in blindness prevention and various other worthwhile charities. She is a tad racist...hope she works on that. Lovely children...that says something in her favor too.
