THIS is why you keep “attracting" toxic partners 😬

In this video, I discuss how to stop attracting toxic partners. I explain that everyone deserves love, but some of us engage with toxic people because we are wounded and susceptible to their predatory behavior. The key is to work on providing ourselves with unconditional self-love and acceptance, so that we no longer seek validation from unhealthy relationships.

There are people who would love to call my wife and I toxic, trauma bonded, codependent, what have you. But her and I communicate on a level not seen by the rest. We say things no-one else understands. So, I wish you all the most toxicity and happiness there is in the world. It is what it is.

@@nancycooper Not mentioned in this video, and sorry, this is my first visit to one of your videos, so I did not want to assume, but it sound as if you have personal experience with this, and have been working on yourself, and now are sharing some of that with others?

You and they will continue to not find happiness because you label other people as toxic. Until you realize you can not judge another person, you will suffer.

This sounds like a religiously motivated response, but that does not invalidate your point. And it was in-line with how I perceived generically labeling people as toxic, and then beating that strawman. A man does not make a woman happy. A woman, like a man, makes herself happy. A man merely protects her so she can continue to experience her happiness, while enhancing it. Women and men are not equal. They are different. And we should celebrate our differences, learn from each other, and grow together.

Holding people accountable for their unhealthy behaviors and how they negatively impact us is not judgment. It’s called boundaries.

@@nancycooper No its called judging another person as toxic. If you are going to do so at least admit it. Be accountable for labeling another human as less worthy. You should tell them this right to their face. If you can't you know its wrong to do so. Manipulators going to manipulate. It is not cool any more to label others as you age. An adult evaluating another adult is silly because LOOK AT YOU! Suppose you say a dude is toxic but he just doesn't like a girl with manly hands and a high hair line. Is that toxic or a boundary?

The only women I can get to go on a date is toxic. So my guess is there are no women who aren’t toxic

I’m so sorry! It can definitely feel this way in the dating world. There are DEFINITELY amazing women and men out there who are self-aware, have high emotional intelligence, and capable of healthy relationships. I wish I knew the answer on how to find them! Best I can do is offer advice on how to tell the difference between those are not yet ready and those who are.

Hi. Lots of generalization here that I could likely take to mean something other than you intend. So before I respond with a diatribe, I would like to ask you about some things. Could you be missing, or perhaps not addressing in this video, something with a little more explanatory value that could lead to better advice and outcomes for victims? From your video, and I watched it a few times, I am compelled to ask if you considered that a secure person who is not remotely toxic, can be made the victim and experience unconscionable amounts of emotional, verbal, and physical abuse from a partner who has an insecure attachment style, brought about by unaddressed trauma, or bad habits that develop as a means of survival during one or more bad relationships? Thanks.

The downside to doing short form content is there is so much context that gets left out. This video is more about “toxic” partners that are predators. The ones that seek out others to use them for something. This could be money, status, validation, “supply” (a term pertaining to what narcissistic people seek), attention, etc. It’s the people who go into a dating dynamic without the true intentions of wanting to be in a healthy, genuine, co-creative relationship. Of course we can find ourselves in unhealthy relationships and deal with toxic behaviors due to our partner having an unhealthy attachment style and unhealed trauma. That’s not what this video is about though. Did this clarify things for you?

@@nancycooper It does. Thank you. I have spared you a diatribe. 😅 I still have a few points I might object to (e.g. Lionesses hunt prey. Lions protect their family.), but the key point is that you clarified you are referring to the clinically diagnosed toxic behaviors and types, versus people whom we have perceived and assumed their intent.
