On todays video we go on the in's and out's on why you should underbase. We find it very effective to apply this to our garments while printing. and you get to see the difference why you need a underbase. If you like this type of video let us know and we can go into more detail. always thanks for watching.

Would I need a white underbase if I was printing green ink colour on a red or medium blue t-shirt? I would prefer a black t-shirt but as I'll be using a crude DIY setup for screen printing at home, there's no way that I could get perfect registration for a white underbase.

Did you guys use two screens? Or did you use one screen and clean in between?
@hiswaypressorprint4193
@hiswaypressorprint4193 5 месяцев назад
We used two, One for under base with a choke back and a second screen with the top teal color

Silly, What Transfer Tape did you use? I'm seeing Mixed Reviews across Brands. Also, Did you Fully Cure your Underbase Layer? I assume so, or it would come off with the tape, correct?
@hiswaypressorprint4193
@hiswaypressorprint4193 10 месяцев назад
Hello xFLACCID Yes cure it till it was tacky and the transfer tape we get it from Grimco

Great video, thank you. On your white underbase do you make it smaller than top design (blue). I think they call it "Choke", .05 - 1.5, making the underbase smaller so it would be easier to cover with top design? Any chance you did that?
@hiswaypressorprint4193
@hiswaypressorprint4193 2 года назад
Yes on the underbase we did apply a choke. I believe we did a 1.0 on the choke. Have you had a chance to use a choke on your designs?
@rmunoz5439
@rmunoz5439 2 года назад
@@hiswaypressorprint4193 I have used a choke of .5 and that was hard to align. I am not sure of how high I can go on the choke to make it easier. If I choke the image to much, the top image would go over and be noticeable on edges ?. Is it trial and learn. Using 1.0 - 2.0?

Screens look great besides the pin holes, are you doing two coats per side? Dull edge or sharp? just curios. thanks
@hiswaypressorprint4193
@hiswaypressorprint4193 2 года назад
Yes, We were doing one coat on each side. Now we moved to 2 Front and 1 On back. seems to be working great. I believe the sharper edge is usually what we work with. Thanks for the support also What do you coat usually?

Why not just use opaque ink???
@hiswaypressorprint4193
@hiswaypressorprint4193 2 года назад
you would need to do more passes to go on the garment in order for the ink to pop out (layers) . Underbase cuts the time in half
