From what I've seen , people who hate flooded boards or don't want to waste time tend to surrender. I wouldn't just for the small hope of maybe getting a chance before losing. I still need to play just for the dailies to count

Well, to be fair I can atest to not surrendering when my opponent locked my board for a good 5 turns (they were using Sky Striker) and then being surprised that when I was about to, they did instead. Sometimes, even when all hope seems lost, a messed up combo will throw off anyone.

I've noticed while watching gx that that's pretty much how they evaluate how good someone is, for example in one of the zane vs jaden duels zane starts out with poly and 3 cyber dragons and when he immediately plays it they are all like "oh wow he's sooooooo good" when it just seems like everyone in the anime kinda chooses their cards in the opening hand for what they feel like playing at that moment, its kinda ridiculous

You can make better than that when opening Simoon too. I run a build that takes another combo path ending with Ultimate Falcon, Redoer, Bardiche, Gagagaga Magician, and an Arsenal Falcon that you'll rank up into Kali Yuga as soon as they play their first card. It just ends their turn and Heavy Storms the board on their end phase. And if your opener has two more BW's past activating Simoon, you can make Full Armor Master or Borreload Savage on top of everything else. I have not lost a game yet in which I've performed the standard combo turn 1.

@Maday Aquino Raider’s Knight’s effect means that the arc rebellion would’ve been sent to the graveyard at the opponent’s end phase anyway, so it was 100% a flex. But then again, any flex to get a 15500 ATK monster on the field is a worthwhile one

@@thinkon2127 Arc rebellion is immune to destruction effects. So raiders knights' side effect of the xyz monster being destroyed at the end phase, wasn't gonna work. Hence why arc rebellion is a good target for raiders knight effect.

To be fair no one would play around shadow toon of all cards in a BO1 format.

No it's not enough lol, even Ultimate Falcon can get shit on, he would've been fine with just VFD or Kali Yuga or even, Requiem Dragon would've been much better but of course he gotta flex his muscles for no reason.

I play a similar deck, and that player either just wanted to flex or he had no idea of what he was doing. First of all Arc Rebellion is a trump card, something that you whip out only when you literally can't do nothing else. Second instead of True King of All Calamities he should have summoned Kali Yuga at the start of the opponent's turn using Arsenal Falcon and the rank up magic, that would have completely shut down almost any deck

Well there was no negation present but he did have a VFD and 2 towers + 2 book of moons thanks to nightmare, it wasn't the most oppressive board (Honestly he should've gone with Kali Yuga turbo), but was neat nonetheless

When you spend 10 hours practicing your OTK combo, but forget you have to go first sometimes.

Using Simoon at the very start locks you into DARK Extra Deck monsters for that turn so you can't get Infinity.
