Just wanted to comment on your videos. I think you do a fantastic job of showing and explaining the "real life" problems in plumbing. I, myself am just an amateur DIY person but you far out class the "professional show it how it's done videos" on RU-vid. Great work.

I spent just over £100 because of you 😀 I keep seeing you using the Milwaukee pipe cutter. I will forgive you this time because cutting 22mm is as easy as falling off a log now. I managed with a hand slice for 50yrs. But one tends to lose grip in the hands after that long 😀 great video again tom.

We have the same boiler in our house mate. If vaillant have had to repair the storage unit (there's a dip tube, shift pump and the prv that all fail) it's a two man job to lift the boiler off the front.

Hi Tom, wrong boiler then a boiler that doesn’t work and no help from the manufacturer, sounds like a manufacturer we all need to avoid??? I understand there can be problems with even a brand new boiler, but how the manufacturer deals with it is a good reflection of that manufacturers professionalism and integrity, I think there is a good lesson for us all to learn here. The installation looked great, plenty copper pipe and soldering, always a great job when you have been involved, well done Tom, take care. 👍👍👍

Mate. I totally feel your pain on this one, some manufacturers or rather their tec (no) help departments really suck. Even I know you don't put valves on a boiler, even an electric one! Just what your customer needs... a potential steam bomb waiting to go off when someone accidentally shuts one or both off. 🤯 Anyway, still loving your videos - a welcome break tbh. One thing with the faulty unit. Has your supplier not taken it back? Your dealings are with them, not the manufacturer. Hope you get it sorted - or just let the boiler manufacturer know your going to shame them on social media. That sometimes works. Respect 👊
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for the support mate, my supplier did give me a credit straight away, I believe they haven't had their money back yet as the unit got sent back to them. It's still siting behind the counter. I know that's not my problem but really they should not lose out on a faulty product.
@normanboyes4983
@normanboyes4983 8 месяцев назад
Tom always a pleasure to watch you just getting it done. I am intrigued by the supply of the EB and manufacturers response with the faulty unit - what did you mean they wanted you to sign contractual documents? You already had a contract with the supplier (not the manufacturer), so in law (privacy of contract) they have the legal obligation unless they have put in the Terms and Conditions - ‘we occasionally may supply you with duff gear but bear no responsibility for sorting it out’. Maybe you should just make these big ticket purchases on the company credit card and stiff them via a clawback through the credit card company. Can you explain the contract they wanted you to sign in the next video?
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching Norman, when I phoned them up they tried to make me agree to a contract, I refused and just ordered another boiler from my supplier, things got really bad when my supplier went to fetch the new unit as they wouldn't release it until I signed, I again refused, I would have effectively been signing away all of my rights although I don't think it would stand up to anything in the real world. I don't like it when things don't work and I certainly don't like it when manufactures don't and won't take any responsibility

I’ve had problems with Stromm gear before. I went to a wine and dine event with one of their reps one evening and a few of us started using their stuff which was fine at first. @PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom 8 месяцев назад
There would have be so many things to go wrong before it got to the point where there would be an extreme failure, it would need the control stat and the overheat stat on the boiler to completely fail, generally prv's fail safe, I don't recall ever hearing or reading about any situations where a heating system has blown up because of a faulty prv. I used to purchase mine from The Electric Boiler Company. Everything was fine till I had a unit that wouldn’t run……..then it all went to hell with them. Only fit supplied units now

I have fitted a couple of these before without any issues, they did admit this unit had been sat a while, 2 years in fact as the date was inside, it wasn't cheap either, thanks for watching mate

Of course you can’t be criticised for your work ethic & attention to your customers’ needs Tom. We all seen the Leccy boiler manufacturers, so we’ll be giving wide berth to that shower of shit!! Just a couple of points; did you leave your 22mm Benders at home?....more elbows there than Gazza in the penalty box!!!! Also, you’ve not followed the ‘3 Tees rule’ with the common Return. But hey, these are minor points & your workmanship is excellent. Thanks for sharing. Luv Dick Puller❤

Thanks for watching as always mate, I don't know why I didn't use my benders on this one, I think I was feeling under pressure as I didn't have my boiler and never really got settled on the job
