Looks like Porsche have sold many of them, but even they don’t want it back in part-exchange, because they’re finding that the general public simply don’t want to buy used EVs. Also assumes that you have immediate access to a charger and don’t have to queue to get in line and who knows how long each person needs to charge. Seems that those who invest their funds in battery powered carts do not value their lost time waiting for battery top ups. Is your time that worthless? it can never be replaced. Add up your lost time over the life of your battery cart you may own and see how much of your life you loose while you wait for your beloved cart to allow you to continue your journey.

If your car has multiple options/screens for displaying your sat nav directions, set the main infotainment screen as “north up” with the dash (and head up display if you have one) as track up. This way you have directions relative to the route you are following, whilst you can also sanity check the overall route on the infotainment screen. If you destination is south, you shouldn’t be going north that often - most Sat nav’s with track up have a very small compass indicator that’s not always easy to see. I’m old school, so still have paper maps in my car, but I’m happy to use Waze and the vehicle satnav (Jag-Nav) for detailed information regarding which lane to be in.

I paid £25,000 for my Mini Cooper Electric 4 years ago, with 1,000 miles on the clock, BUT, so far, the savings I've made, compared to running my old Mini Cooper ICE, are more than significant, like the £4,000 in fuel savings AND the about £3,000 savings in the Central London Congestion Charge too as its FREE for EVs. As for charging it up, THIS is when things get really interesting, as since I got my Mini Cooper Electric 4 years ago, I've been charging it up locally, about 500 meters from my home, (even though I can easily charge it up at home, using a BOG STANDARD 3 pin socket) at a FREE to use, public EV charger, (there are THOUSANDS of FREE EV charging points, ALL OVER the UK), this FREE charging is ongoing too and saves me about £1,000 per year, compared to doing the same mileage per week, in my old Mini Cooper ICE, This FREE charging is not subsidised by the taxpayer and or Government either, IF in the future I have to pay, to home charge, I'll still be saving about £500 per year, compared to running my old Mini Cooper ICE, (over 20 years, that's a £10,000 saving) as for how often I need to charge up my Mini Cooper Electric, as its range varies, between 120 miles in the winter and 170 miles in the summer, and I usually do about 140 miles per week, (which is the average UK motorists weekly mileage) I have to charge it up about ONCE per WEEK, "which is absolutely no hassle whatsoever", there is hardly ever a queue to use my local FREE EV charging point either, (it can charge 2 EVs at once at the same 7 kilo watt rate each) as I only live 500 meters from this FREE EV charging point, which is in the car park, of the local massive supermarket that I do my shopping in, whenever I want to charge, (as I hardly ever run my batteries down to below about 20%, I've ALWAYS got enough charge in them, to do at least "20 miles of local running around", so I can carefully pick and choose when to charge up) I just check an app on my phone, to see when there is a free space, to use my local FREE EV charging point, O.K. sometimes, I have to be, sat at home, like a WW2 Battle of Britain, Spitfire pilot, waiting to "SCRAMBLE", once my local FREE EV charger is available, (after 4 years of doing this, I kinda KNOW, exactly what time of day, to turn up there, to do some shopping and just breeze into a FREE EV charging space, without waiting or even bothering to check the app either) as its a 7kw charger and my Mini Cooper Electric has 30 kwh of usable battery power, it takes about 1 hour, to charge its batteries up by 20%, 2 hours for 40%, 3 hours for 60%, and 4 hours for 80%, which is usually its longest charging time. The Mini Cooper Electric, has one of the shortest EV ranges in the UK, of 145 miles, yet, it is PEREFECT for ANYONE that does the UK weekly average mileage of 140 miles, the best way, to work out exactly which EV to get, is to first work out, IF you can charge it at home, or use, a local either free or cheap rate charging point, the lower the charging power is, the cheaper it is to charge up, so public 3 kw and 7 kw chargers are cheapest, then 22 kw ones cost a little bit more to use, 45 kw and 50 kw chargers are "a bit of a rip off" and 150 kw and 350 kw chargers are "a MASSIVE rip off", (the Mac Master, usually uses, 150 kw and 350 kw chargers and then moans about how much they cost to use, LOL) then, work out exactly how many miles you drive away from your home base, then "double that" so you KNOW how many miles of range you need, to get THERE and BACK, "without having to get, ripped off, by charging up, on that journey" for example, my longest usual trip away from my home in one direction, is 45 miles, so I ONLY needed an EV with an at least 90 miles of range, call it 100 miles hey, to get THERE and BACK, "without the expense of charging up at 45 kw or 50 kw chargers en route" so the Mini Cooper Electric, was PERFECT for me, as its shortest range in winter is 120 miles, which easily covers my regular almost 100 mile round trips, i would estimate that, about 90% of UK drivers, would only need an EV, with a 200 mile range and anyone else, would only need, a Mini Cooper Electric, a Honda E, maybe a Fiat 500 E, or a 2 or 4 door, Smart Car Electric, etc, UNLESS they have "MASSIVE EGOS" that simply can't fit into small economic to run EVs, I'm an ex international HGV1 driver, that used to drive, an articulated 40 ton truck, on whacking long journeys, of way over 1,000 miles a pop, EVERY FLIPPIN WEEK, and KNOW that all I require for my personal motorised transport is, a Mini Cooper Electric, some of my mates are over 6 foot tall too, and I just shoehorn them into the back seats saying, "its a FREE lift, so just STFU, if yer wanna complain". Oh, as for "long distant journeys" in an EV, I recently drove my Mini Cooper Electric, from London, to Lands End and back, (a round trip of 600 miles, that's basically 4 times the range of my Mini Cooper Electric too) NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER, charging up en route, (without having to wait for a charger) at Amesbury, Gridserve, lots of them available, no queue, B.P. Honiton, 200 meters from the A30, 2 chargers and NO ONE using them either, Pod Point, Strawberry Fields farm shop, near Launceston, charger accessible 24/7, 4 chargers and NO ONE using any of them too, Lands End, Gridserve, one charger available and NO ONE using that too, as my Mini Cooper Electric, only has about 30 kwh of usable batteries, the LONGEST it takes to fully charge it up, from as near as zero as I would NEVER allow it to go to, using the usual 50 kw chargers, is 36 minutes too, so its usual full charge using 50 kw chargers, is JUST 30 minutes. As I have NEVER seen the Mac Master, EVER use a FREE EV charger, "THIS shows, what a TOTALLY UNSAVVY EV owner/driver the Mac Master truly is", but, hey, "his You Tube videos, are only there to make him MONEY and not to educate people about EVs", I have also NEVER seen the Mac Master, chat with other EV owners, at EV charging points, while he is charging, chatting with other EV owners while charging, is "normal behaviour" to LOTS of EV owners, as we exchange important details about our specific EVs, like, range, charging up times, etc, SOME of the EV owners that I've met and chatted to while charging up, are VERY INTERESTING CHARACTERS indeed, one of which, who owns an original Nissan Leaf, is preparing to, wire up his "Leaf" to his homes electric supply, to use his "Leaf" ' as its electric supply, for FREE, as he too charges his "Leaf" up for FREE too, (EV owners in America "already do STUFF like this", they charge up their EV, using cheap rate electricity, during the night and plug their EV into their homes during the day, to power their homes, on the cheap rate electricity they used to charge up their EVs from, "clever stuff hey" and as that is happening in America TODAY, it will be happening in the UK TOMORROW and I can NEVER foresee ANYONE being able to do stuff remotely like this with an ICE vehicle too).

The Minis in the 2003 remake of The Italian Job were electric.... They were the first ever electric Mini, they had to be converted due to the La subway not allowing fumes in their system... Was never going to be a patch on the original film. I wonder how long down the road will law firms start the "were you mis-sold an electric vehicle and told it was the future?? If so you could be entitled to make a claim!!!!"
