Today in Scrap Mechanic Survival I'll be chopping down trees and bringing them to a lumber mill! I've modified my Cargo Truck to be able to cut the trees down and transport them to the mill!

Hey Moonbo, you can make the wood crusher turn off the blades automatically by putting a sensor and an xor gate, the sensor at the end of the thing so it detects when the piston wall is pushed in all the way. You hook up the sensor and the switch to the gate, then the gate to the engine. :)

@@hidan4098 The whole world is procedurally generated but the starting point is always in the same place, which is why many of the lets plays have started off similarly. Once you get away from the starting area though, everyone's map should look fairly unique. Well, as unique as you can when every structure looks very similar.

Do you actually have to disconnected the tree from the pusher before you start it? once the last section comes into contact with the blades, seems like it would disconnect when the log changes state to cut pieces. just a thought, I haven't built this thing yet.

@@uggranpops8442 yeah, I think you misunderstood my question. I asked what happens if you Don't disconnect it. Moonbo disconnected it every time. It may glitch out, as Andrew suggested. Was just curious if it was a necessary step.

I really love your method. I'm finally at the point where i'm ready to start logging in the game and i already started work on a machine before watching anyone's machines but, i decided to take a break and do a bit of a search for what people came up with in their games. That is how i ended up in this video and , i'm impressed. It's crazy though, the insane amount of different ways people have come up with to gather their wood. :-D This game is awesome.

this would take me 5 people to build But personally I’d use controllers to power the blades, no fuel needed then, but that does seem like it would be copying that one person who used that to power a car, and that thing went heccin fast

1. It's a flannel shirt with a fleece liner not a jacket (I live in Washington state, we're very touchy about our flannel). 2."I can't get over how unrealistically heavy these trees are", have you ever hauled a 50-foot spruce tree before? you're not going to budge a 10-15 ft. section of tree with a sledge hammer. 3. The people that comment with criticisms on how you play are nerd's like me who are bothered by inefficiencies, It bothers us when we see someone using a method that wastes their time, and as someone like you that has to worry about recoding time, I think you can appreciate that. I know It bothers you when people try and tell you what to do, but I thought you might want to know the other end of...part...or the story. , love your videos -Cyber

Amazing machine for sure. Does the tree roll in? Can you try make a ramp to roll the trees in the machine? Maybe put a stopper at the end of ramp to control the input so you can load lots of trees on the ramp if it's a possible thing

Hey moonbo, why not add like magazine to the lumber mill, so after the piston retracts another log just drops in to place? Then you just unload all the logs at once and refine them one after the other

@Moonbo Do you think that it would be possible to either make a trailer that has the lumber mill on it so if you ever go really far away from your base to collect wood, that way you don't have to drive all the way back to base just go refine a few logs?

Moonbo have you try to do grabing arm to hold the tree and lift to the back to do lumber mill it almost like a mobile lumber mill and the car do hold on tree and chops the tree and move overhead the car to the back of the lumber mill?

I think a good rule to see what is intended to be picked up/welded would be if you can't place it on the lift, you shouldn't weld it.

If you made a plane youy would need 4 trosters if it was a small on put a plane is faster and you can get to the top of a werahous very fast but if it is to heavy and it is abil to fly it will use a lot of fule

I know the weld option was removed recently but I love the idea of a lumber mill over just an easy harvest/refine machine. If you made the feed tube a bit wider you could possibly tilt the lumber truck to just dump the logs straight into the feed tube. Raise the walls and enclose it with a ceiling hing so they don't fly out.

Make the lumber Mill sensor activated so u can load it up and leave for more wood without wasting fuel. Like so he can see!

You should make the lumber mill with gravity so the trees go down a shoot and into saw blades that way nothing can fly out

You could also add a craft bot that is on loop at the back end, and make it craft the actual tier 1 wood

Try adding a sensor that detects when a log is placed in the machine and then it will activate. If the log has to be loose try adding suspension. Like so Moonbo sees my BiG BrAiN

Using the weld tool to load trunks / rocks is kinda cheaty IMO. You could instead create a crane. I already created a crane that did work ,even with the biggest trunks, so it's a possible thing to do. Also you can load trunks with other methods involving, for exemple, a conveyor belt.

quick tip never use resource collectors , THEY WASTE YOUR METAL! just make your own resource collector out of wood, easy

You should reverse the saw directions so it pushes it into the ground instead of pushing it into the stopper
