My friend was watching a show on tv one day. This animal "expert" chased these raccoons that had set up residence under an indoor skate park around and around. The whole time I'm thinking, "offer food and a hiding box" The poor critters were terrified and exhausted and it didn't need to be that hard. Thank you for your heart.

As far as a captive racoon from what I have seen, seems about average. Seen some absolute out of control fatties when they are captive. Cute, but definitely busy and sneaking little critters. You have to have a pretty big tolerance otherwise I think most people would lose their minds. Love that nature put a natural mask on them, so fitting that they are nature's branded bandits...
I wish you understand that these animals arnt always seen as cute or cuddle, most people I know kill them on a daily so in saying this is the first racoon I seen living longer then it should.

OMG you're hilarious explaining the nature of a raccoon. Sugar red bull knives! I feed a raccoon every night when I feed my rescue kitty. One eating on each side of me. My small female kitty will hiss and Boris the raccoon runs away. He's not aggressive at all and is a big boy. We love him

I have a friend who only feeds his dogs dry food while he eats chickfila chicken and everything else under the sun in front of them. Its bs. Ive talked to him about cooking chicken for them or adding canned food and he says he wants them to live as long as possible. So basically the animal has this crappy relationship with food its whole life for his ultimate benefit since no mammal would want to just eat dried protein cereal its entire life.

lolno they are not sadly. cute as hell but extremely destructive and smart at that as well. they 'will' start break open containers just for the sake of doing it and will consider locked ones a challenge. so unless one is going in with the mindset from the get go that the home will look like some burglars broke in, having a raccoon will be just frustrating.
a wee bit on the rotund size- not good for the racoon. keep out the bad stuff and they will eat the healthy stuff. one of mine loves banana the other seeds and nuts. i give them homemade cat food as their main meal
Please people, choose cats and dogs from rescue or shelter rather than wild animals for pets. There are so many cats and dogs which are only pet animals and they end up dieing in shelters. But yes racoons are cute but belong in nature.
love raccoons but as someone with ADHD, RedBull and sugar will actually level out the depleted dopamine in the brain, and will calm down the symptoms. I chug Monster Energy if I have trouble sleeping!
My raccoons love marshmallows best as well, but they live outside the house with my other favorite critters! I would love to have a raccoon inside the house. They are so cute! just like with humans, you should over feed mammals of any kind, or any animal for that matter. that racoon is obese. put her on fish or chicken , or beef only for a few months
Not a good pet..notice how he's not kissing petting or playing with...raccoons and many other animals people just pretend it's a pet when really is they just sit around for food. It's not like cats or dogs
