As someone who has watched jev since ~30k subs, very impressed by him. He never went out of his way to follow trends. Solely played games and did things he enjoyed, staying humble in the process. Probably the only FAZE member that did so.
People are hungry for authenticity in their entertainment. The Hollywood sheen has worn off. Hollywood is dead and therefore their mode of entertainment is also dead.
Today, I want to talk to you about the gospel of salvation according to Romans 6, with a focus on those who do not yet believe. The concept of sin is central to this discussion. Sin is the act of disobeying God's commands, and it has serious consequences. The Bible teaches that the penalty for sin is death, both physical and spiritual (Romans 6:23). But there is good news. Through Jesus Christ, we have a way to be saved from our sins and have eternal life. Romans 6:23 goes on to say, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." This means that salvation is a free gift from God that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. So, how do we receive this gift of salvation? Romans 10:9 says, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This means that we need to confess our belief in Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross for our sins. By doing so, we are acknowledging that we are sinners in need of a savior, and that Jesus is the only way to be saved. The significance of Jesus' sacrifice cannot be overstated. He died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins, taking the punishment we deserve so that we can be forgiven and reconciled to God. Through His resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death, and offers us the gift of eternal life. It is essential to understand that accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior is not merely a one-time decision, but a lifelong commitment. As we grow in our faith, we become more like Jesus, and our desire to follow His teachings increases. We are called to live a life of holiness and obedience to God's commands, not to earn our salvation, but as a reflection of our gratitude for what He has done for us. I invite you to consider these teachings and make an informed decision about your faith. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do so today. Know that you are loved by God, and that He desires a personal relationship with you. May you experience the peace and joy that comes from knowing Him.
I work at a job that makes me feel like I’m just a number, but hearing you talk about how you are losing money on your esports team and don’t care takes me out of my depression. Finally someone doing something for a reason other than money
I remember when FaZe was all about hitting sniper clips/trickshotting/genuinely being insanely good at COD. It used to actually mean something to be on the team and was no easy feat. Ahhh the good old days.
I remember when it meant something literally a decade ago. A few years back I started going "wait how are all of these guys in Faze now? Ig its just huge and not really exclusive anymore"
yeah i remmeber that , and i also remmember that they weren't as rich as what they become and there videos were useless , damn kid , one day you're going to grow up , and you'll understand that money is everything in this world , yeah ppl won't like to admit it and will say its not and there are other values , but deep down and in reality , everyone is hungry over money , and its logical , so what faze did was the best thing they ever did, they were a billion dollar org at one point , its the bad investement that fucked them

The creator companies that have lasting success (like Mythical Entertainment) never gave equity to Wall Street - or built a physical business beyond content (like Doug Demuro).
These recap videos of something Charlie talked about on stream are always so funny in their editing. It's not cut together from the raw recording of the stream, it's a screen capture of a twitch clip on RU-vid, not even made fullscreen, which is itself a non-fullscreen RU-vid video ;D
Charlie shouting out moist esports was the greatest end to the faze anime ever. The little guy rising in the shadows while the big villain is on fire out in the open
Your love for the players under your org is the reason for any future success imo. It'll be cool to see if genuine care and passion could be profitable and start a whole new wave of how orgs operate
It's ironic cos when Jev joined everyone hated him...I mean EVERYONE, they said that him joining the team would change everything and in a weird strange way it really did kinda manifest into that, not because of Jev, Jev imo was just the cashcow at the time they hopped on cos daily content is better monetary wise.
He’s the only member I follow now, I couldn’t give a fuck if he’s in Faze or not cause I like him as a person. Definitely one of the most genuine RU-vidr out here.
He isn’t the “real OG faze member” lmao that would be people like Rain and Teeqo. Jev is just one that has never changed his content, he just chills and makes videos.
@@solidhutyr1815 Faze Jev is pretty much the only member who isn’t a complete cringe goofball. Dude hasn’t change since he started and still makes really good videos and content.
@@solidhutyr1815 he is a faze member. Everyone likes and respects him because he is like the only genuine member . He sticks to his roots of playing video games and is consistent. If u go to his channel u can see all he does is play games and rage
I just wanted to say how thankful I am that you started youtube/twitch I watched your stuff like years ago but went away from youtube for awhile and found you again I got to say watching your content feels like it makes me a better person I love how you stand up for people and keep to your morals no matter what I find I struggle seeing the good in the world especially recently with everything happening it just really inspires me to try too keep to my morals more and try to be comfortable with who I am I still struggle a lot but I am happy there is a person like you out there in the world keep being your awesome moist self.
Faze Jev been the last one standing for a whole 5 years now… very sad but what a legend true member of the ORG.FaZe will always be alive in our hearts.
@@potthethird rain tried saving his friends jobs way back in the new york house (like 8 years ago?) by starting a union. Hes BEEN trying to save their jobs. They didnt care.
honestly as someone who was a big faze fan since the early cod trickshotting days, its so sad to see this group that used to just be friends playing having fun together, destroyed and turned into this fame game thats only driven by greed. wtf happened yo
the competition charlie was talking about was called faze 5 and the saddest part was most of the people that were competing were already content creators that were in a much better financial position then what they would have been signing with faze. im glad im not the only one who remembers faze 5
How can you say that they were taking all they’re members rightful earnings sure they gave exposure too the members but they also too 90% of their money
Absolutely crazy to see FaZe’s fall from grace. I remember 5 or 6 years back when they were really making it BIG in the esports and public space and it was insane. I was hearing about them constantly. Now I feel like I hardly hear about them ever..at all. Come to think of it, I haven’t heard much about FaZe until this video. That’s saying something. Sad.
they're all worthless to invest in. why would an investor want to lose money over a bunch of man kids playing video games aT a pRo LeVeL when you can just watch twitch or RU-vid.

Jesus fuck how is there a bot/copy-spammer about this already, it’s been less than 30 minutes since video’s published & it’s not even appearing in Charlie’s video tab yet either
I just remembered buying a faze hoodie about a decade ago and that shit took like 9 months to arrive. I was hitting a growth spurt and didn’t even really fit in it when it arrived
As a Jev viewer, to all the others stressing about Jev, relax. He was able to quit his job and support himself with content creation relatively around the same time he joined FaZe in 2014. And this was well before he even had a million subscribers, let alone over 5 million now. He'll be fine. Besides, he's always been pretty independent and has always done his own thing for ages now, and I doubt that if he left FaZe he would struggle
@@michaelrimmele4970 I only got the chance to talk to him twice, he never leaves his house. He orders doordash like everyday. But next time I see him I for sure should
I was gonna say damn he really just moved past roasting tf out of sneako. Charlie is what I strive to be, so level headed, real af, funny is an understatement he’s hilarious and creative dope dude who I hopefully get the chance to meet before I pass
I remember back in the day when FaZe was just a couple dudes playing S&D, quick scoping for YT vids and a clan tag on MW2.. Crazy to think how much has happened since then huh..

Also just want to say I really appreciate what you and Lud are doing for eSports and hope others follow in step. It takes a lot of passion for something to take a massive loss like the two of you are but plow ahead anyways because of your love for it. Maybe teams like yours are the future of the scene since all of these other orgs are collapsing. Content creators spearheading the next generation of eSports.
The reason esports organizations lose so much money is because they treat their players like NFL stars buying mansions for them to live in and paying them crazy salaries and giving them all these perks even though they bring in a fraction of a fraction of how much gets spent. If creators like Charlie taking the L and losing money anyway is the "future" of esports then it's a doomed industry. Much more likely, esports orgs will stop spending 10x more than they make players wont live in mansions unless they deserve it and most revenue will largely come from the team members streaming and contributing the funds as a team. Charlie thinking that streamers giving twitch revenue to the org being some crazy outlandish thing is probably exactly why he's losing so much money. You have to be braindead to have an entire team of professional gamers on payroll and NOT being using their streams as a revenue source. If that's all theirs then they can have 1/10th of the salary they're not exactly hurting for cash.
@@bestieswithtesties Exactly. Why do they pay them so much for a job easier then the min wage jobs? Every other kid at home plays video games all day, not at that same level but still. It's not a demanding job and it doesn't bring that much viewers or attention yet they think they can demand a 10K a month apartment. Even with Charlie behind it no one really cares for esports. These guys are way overpaid for a job that doesn't deserve that kind of pay. And that business model is doomed to fail.
@@bestieswithtesties I always wondered how esport orgs sustain pro players from different genres with less lucrative landscape like fighting games. Turns out they don't treat them like NFL stars xd
@@NM-jd9ck it’s extremely demanding, it takes more hours than a full time job to go pro. But even so it does not bring in the amount of money that it costs. Id say the only thing that works is when games start an esports league like Overwatch league, and that barely works. It’s like an advertisement for the game and players buy league merch and in game league items.
@@timeless8285 Yes but a min wage job is physically and mentally demanding while sitting at your desk all day playing mind stimulating video games isn't. Dude every other person plays games all day and they don't get paid. It's really more of a hobby than a job. Even game testing is harder because it's repetitive and boring as you search for any possible bug, redoing things over and over. Gaming isn't really comparable, even if they're doing it at a higher level than normies. There's plenty very skilled people who never go esports route. It's not demanding at all and saying it is is an insult to people with real jobs. Even gaming channels put in some work by actually sitting down to edit, these guys don't even do that and then they're on camera crying they can't afford their LA 10k apartment.
He gets 170ish million views a month. He may be losing money in the short term but with those numbers + merch drops in the future, their cash flow should be fine

we convinced my econ teacher to buy 17 dollars worth as a joke back when it was around 75 cents, it has become a daily reacurring topic in our class as we always check the price each day, watching it go down ever so steadily. my classmate who was the main proponent of this whole idea has jokingly been defending it by saying "it can only go up".
dawg, i remember when me and my friends would hope to be in FaZe like 5 years ago when fortnite was around, it’s crazy to think about how influential they were at the time
Dang man. I don't really keep up with esports anymore for basically all the reasons you said in this video but I remember like it was yesterday the whole faze vs optic rivalry going on and I remember classmates getting into actual arguments over which team was better. Sad to see how far they've fallen.
I only watch youtubers who are godly in games I play so I can learn techniques and get breakdowns of all the weapon/item changes every update. Not into watching twitch. I'd rather see a player upload their best game of the day and explain what they did right and wrong and how they can improve.
@Don't Care honestly, just in general I prefer videos over streams. I just don't have time to watch someone else play games for hours at a time and with videos I can stop at anytime and pick up right where I left off. With streams you gotta play a vod comes out or you gotta hope irs recorded by yourself or someone else. I've never been a big fan of it.
honestly as soon as i saw the lack of montages from these guys and watching those videos turn into prank and flex videos of expensive cars, i knew it was going to turn into a downfall
Yea, this dude gets to sit down and talk in a monotone voice over a video while letting out a few fucks to get money, if only I could get money this easily.
I think a lot of people who were fans of them back in the day hurt to see this most. Cause we saw this coming. The og New York guys were what created the warhead of a community faze had. I used to love watching these guys everyday. And it was so obvious when they started to not be able to create what they wanted as the “creators” ashamed. :(
As a publicly traded company, all of their controversies, terrible brand management, scams, and in general terrible people, they basically set themselves up for failure. Its no longer a group of friend that can mess around and do shady shit when they have VCs breathing down their necks.
