If Kane is going to drop deep two things have to happen. You need someone running in behind him to either receive a header or a pass from Bellingham etc and you need Pickford to be able to actually find him. Lanes natural forward intuition is to drop deep and then arrive late. The issue is though when Saka is crossing the ball he's never there. Based on the display against Switzerland Kane has to stay up top, be the out guy if we need him with a long ball, but otherwise just hang aboutx keep the Dutch centre backs wondering where he is and then be there for balls acting in a triangle with the tracking 4. Stop trying to do both roles. Will never work.

I think Watkins could stretch teams and create more space for Foden, Bellingham and Saka. Kane seems to be doing the opposite.

No he is not. There is difference between performance and results. Just because you are getting good results does not mean you are performing well. In this case, the winning should not take away from the fact that the manager has not done anything to improve the performances. All the teams England beat are teams they were expected to beat and they barely did it.

Kane has been put in the position but is hype, never shows up when it matters, he is playing with real ballers now and he slows them down , he can't keep up with their pace and engery , they forever trying to accommodate him, at Spurs he slowed them down too look at them now, the deal with him is they built the Spurs team around him, like they do with all the British players they hype up Gerrard Lampard etc... Hes right. He’s a good finisher which is good when your team is creating a lot of chances in the box. However against better teams you’ll create less chances which is where strikers like Suarez, aguero, benzema etc will take you over the line as they can create for themselves and others with their individual skill and movement.
