I wonder if Riot should make it so names are only hidden above a certain rank (ie Masters). Similar to the issue of people dodging, splatoon had this issue and made it so the top ~3% of players had their rank hidden. It wouldn’t have mitigated this problem immediately but maybe could have helped

I'm more impressed that he's actually a legitimate Iron 4 player. I've read somewhere before that after some point, you just start to lose miniscule amounts of LP that it's practically impossible to go down to Iron 4 without intentionally Inting all your games. I think there was even a competition of sorts of who can demote to Iron 4 the fastest at one point.

I actually wanted to share my experience on why I bought a boost after your comment, Rival. (It's going to be a bit long in the tooth) I'm 40 years old, currently I'm Plat II (all under my own power). I don't have a lot of time to churn out games. My full time job is also on call 24/7 and I do payroll so I've got tons of misc. stuff taking up the brain space. But I'm stubbornly insistent that I CAN learn this. I CAN get to Diamond (current goal). Now watching content creators got me into Gold on the permanent about four seasons ago. Shout out to SRO for CONSTANTLY repeating minion wave management in every video and showing me how to miss cannons, lol. About three seasons ago I went up to Gold 1 and got really, really arrogant or something because I just ran it down every game and crashed so hard I fell to Silver 5 (while that was still a thing) before my LP gain/loss stabilized. To give more context I realized I was giga inting it actually somewhere in Gold 4 but my MMR was such a mess I was losing about three games worth of LP than I would gain. I sulked for a couple months feeling like dirt before I went, "If I got there once then by God I can do again." Steeled myself and BARELY squeaked into Gold as the season closed. The following season I knew I needed to find some other method of learning. I bought into Skill Capped (worth every penny and still is) and set my eyes for Plat and I got it! Go me! So the next season I get to Plat 1, I'm in my Diamond promos, I'm 2/2 and my 5th game I BODIED a Vayne top lane into rage quitting about 8 minutes in. I'm 3/0 and it's a 5v4. My mid laner proceeded to just dead sprint it mid because he was upset about dying one time to a gank our jungler wasn't there for. Dude was 0/1 and ends the game 20 minutes later 0/10+ just because of that. So I tilt. Hard. I crash down to Plat 4, 0 LP, and I'm looking at the end of the season, hanging my head, and trying to figure out what to do. I got some coaching off Skill Capped, went good, but I was still struggling and I couldn't identify why. I realized early in life that people learn from different angles; not everyone book learns as well as they do hands on and vice versa, basically. A new teacher can make something stick where a former couldn't. Both weren't wrong but one just presented the information in a way that clicked better. In comes the boost. I set three non-negotiable rules for it. It must be duo, they must be willing to communicate during and after (at least for a quick review), and I would ask for no more than a single division (Plat 4 to 3, basically). What I learned was that my biggest problem was self-confidence. This player smurfed it, definitely, but it was NOT easy some games. Games would be EXACTLY what I feared; bot, sup, mid all running it, flaming each other, etc. My booster jungler would tell me, "Man. I've gotta mute and just focus. You're doing fine, you do you, I gotta backpack these kids." And we'd win; not clean, messy, near loss sometimes, but we did it. Afterward they'd tell me, "Yeah, you played this game MORE than well enough to get to Diamond; maybe higher." or "Okay that game you definitely made it harder on me than you needed to." That was HUGE for my self-confidence and learning. So that's my story. Currently climbing Plat with some back and forth but all under personal merit and skill.

I think the majority of Iron players are missing important information about the game or are just playing casually and could at least be silver if they took the time to learn. The sad thing is this player likely didn't know enough to understand what his challenger teammates were doing correctly that he wasn't doing.

To be honest I expected the account to be more expensive. You need almost ,or at least, an entire month of grinding from a player of incredible skill to get it there. Either you really enjoy League, are addicted or young because this feels like a full time job

Imagine being that deep in denial that you think you would be fine on a challenger account because 'at least your team can't hold you back now'... and then being confronted with the reality that you actually belong in Iron. Imagine how quickly you run out of excuses for why you're not winning when you get outplayed by the enemies at every opportunity. I'm also thinking about how this person has to always mute their team as soon as the game starts because they'd get flamed after those teammates have a look at the account during loading screen. This is a proof that the notion "i'm a good player, but my teammates drag me down" is false and true at the same time xD It's false because the low elo player clearly belongs to the low elo and true because even one player in a team whos skill is below the elo can drag down the whole team down. People are complaining about the match making system and it has its flaws but in general it is doing pretty good job, after enough games pretty much everyone is ranked at their skill level.

as much as it sucks for his team in all those games. i bet the player learned a lot and is much better after playing in those high elo games. one of the reasons it is so hard to climb is most of your games is with people of or around the same skill. when you play up you pick up a lot of the little things and learn much faster than grinding silver games

Okay it kinda related to this shit, in dota 2 a crazy herald player ( equivalent to iron) buying not 1 but like 3 or 4 high immortal account (equivalent to high end of challenger) back in 2021 it's became hot topic in there and just rage inducing moment because they so fucking clueless about what happened in game.

PS let me address one more thing and I see people saying a lot in the comments of why isn't this account banned, or people like this should be banned, etc etc etc. Plain and simple riot doesn't give a shit about you. Do you know how many times this account and others were reported? Through my experiments only 4 accounts were banned which I tested in NA and EUW regions. This was done through chat. The only thing Riot cares about is chat restrictions from their automated system. Multiples and multiples of people have ticketed the accounts without anything done, because as someone mentioned it, they'd rather have troll players than no players at all and "losing" isn't a bannable offense. One more thing I'd like to mention is that if they actually did a clean sweep of accounts, as I mentioned below, Challenger and even Masters+ GM is made up of very few players. They would eliminate 50% or more of the players in those brackets and expose themselves rigging the game if the smurfs/boosters/buyers/exploiters were actually gone. Their player base would diminish over night to what's already fallen a ton, and these other companies they have stake in would cease to generate revenue. Just by not chatting keeps the accounts alive, so report until your hearts are content, again Riot doesn't care about you. You know who does care though, me. I care enough to address these issues in a unique way to get Riot to take notice and make some changes to their ranking and MMR system, which have been announced. If the hardship of these experiments have affected you in the short or your games, it has been minimal and stop your damn crying. This is for the greater good, because you're just a hardstuck player anyways who likely can't climb and thinks they're better than they actually are, or doesn't have the IQ to figure out why you can't climb and are a decent player. Again, the game is rigged, like a vegas slot machine. It's almost laughable how similar the coding and probability is with the game to a slot machine.

So....I find it hilarious how much my gaming has gotten around. Let me start off by saying, you're all wrong. This is my account. These are my accounts. 1st off, let me set the facts straight just like I have for many, but you all want to keep repeating the same sheepish nonsense about being bad and losing and all this nonsense. These accounts were part of an experiment, and one that is going quite well. The idea and Sabrina in her article mentions "reverse smurf" but in reality this actually puts the account to a real smurfing rank and MMR. I took 10 Masters+ accounts, and multiple Challenger level accounts, hand leveled, bought, ranked up by friends, and tested the deranking of the accounts purposefully. This was done to show not only how broken the actual MMR and Matchmaking system is, which has not been done in this fashion, that everyone keeps crying about, but to also prove how the dreaded "losers queue" that people claim doesn't exist, actually does exist and can be triggered. There are a several variables that have been used here, and so far it's been very consistent in results and the ability to manipulate the game. The end result and hopes is for what exactly is happening which is media coverage and known changes proposed from RIOT which have now been announced to help fix their @#$#$#% fn game, and to help create a more even level playing environment for all. Now let me address something. Trying to assume I'm some "Iron" player just bad at the game is ridiculous and laughable. I posted from a made account on Twitter as Sulphuric Night, who's an awesome black metal band by the way, and which I do have an Iron account for testing under that name. I have a lot of accounts that range in every rank and multiples in every rank. Trying to single out 1 account is a joke and how small minded these accusers are. My main account is challenger, yes my own hand leveled accounts. There are others that you all know very well that do boost, and sell their accounts, or pros some of these accounts came from as well. I will not name, names. I will be giving several of these deranked accounts to pros to complete a second level of data gathering for this experiment as well. At a certain point losers queue stops triggering. MMR ratio is now at 2-4:1 for LP loss to gains, so can the best of the best truly smurf their way from a Diamond II account in Silver Ranked lobbies all the way back to Masters+ This is being worked on. I again find it hilarious the community thinks the person is so bad playing on the account they just get stomped over and over when the losing is being done purposefully. I want to point out though that there is a certain point again where you are thrown into losers lobbies, and you get the worst players imaginable in games, or teams who are deranking, at 1LP about to lose rank, or people who have terrible honor, afk, and various negative factors that seem to affect every single game no matter how hard you try. It does exist. I wanted to take time to offer you a reply here because you created this regurgitated video instead of doing some actual journalism, or having a broader thought process of what is actually going on or what I'm actually trying to accomplish here. Again, you're helping, twitter community is helping, and now riftfeed articles are helping, and RIOT has taken notice, which the end goal is for developers to make changes to the game, to make the game better, and in turn will help make the game less toxic when they stop rigging their game. Not all heroes wear capes my friend. I'm also a software/cloud architect, developer, programmer with over 25 years of experience in the enterprise and gaming world. I took a personal interest when I took up this game a few years ago and saw what a bunch of miserable shits are in this community, and wondering why they're so toxic in a game that really takes a very low skill set to play, with mechanics that are pretty mid level to learn. I found the unfairness of the game an issue, and the issue of good players being hard stuck, thrown into losses, or toxic matchups interesting, how it varies to pro matchups, and why its happening an interest. Considering only 300 people in each region gain Challenger at a given time, and I would say over half are not legitimate, and 50% of the people that are Challenger, are big streamers, pros, or shills for the company, there is only a very small percentage of legit people in the bracket. A lot of questions come to mind and how riot is fixing the game for you to lose. TBC

Crazy. I've always wanted to play on a challenger account. Or even a masters just to see how different rhe game is. I wouldn't consecutively play games like this tho. That's ruining it for people. But 1 or 2 games I don't see a problem.

Here's something else to note or more of a question. Not relative to my experiment of deranking, but in general, if you want to become better at something, is it better to spend more time with mediocre people and players, or surround yourself with the best and accelerate. Just another thought for you all. There's always a cost associated, whether it be time or money. You do the math though. First account of "reverse smurfing" but this is actual true smurfing. The others are just posers, making low level accounts terrorizing lobbies. If you were a real smurf you'd derank down to those lobbies, abuse the MMR system and still be able to terrorize those ranks while they all cry "Why is there a diamond player in my bronze lobby". Yes, this is possible at Diamond IV before demotion shield expires, and one of the largest gaps I've found in the MMR system from my experiments. It then takes very little effort to win games, carry games you would think to hover in very low diamond in these lobbies. The goal is you should be able to accelerate your boost back up the ranks if you are actually good if losers queue didn't exist.

i1'll reather stay stuck bronze2-silver2 than going above gold3, the game is not stressful anymore, i can play and learn to play champs, finally.(no idea why, but in normal games i get matched with plat and diamond players who tryhard, unplayable)

Everyone buying an acc dia+ when theyre plat- should be considered griefing, as theyre obviously not skilled enough to get there nor stay there.
