same thing happened here, it said i had a mod outdated but i couldn't find it in my mods folder - like anywhere!? i also don't know how to create a backup folder. it's all very confusing so i'm just going to stick to carrying on without a backup and with my last exception aha

Did you make sure to update all of your mods after the 25th of February update? If you didn't, you can follow these steps: Rename your Electronic Arts folder in 'Electronic Arts OLD' and make a copy of this 'Electronic Arts OLD' folder & paste it on your Desktop, just to have a backup of your save files (do not delete this folder, you'll need it later on!). If you happen to use an antivirus, please try to add an exception for both your Sims 4 & Origin programs, as well as for the following websites: thesims.com & origin.com. Make sure to allow both Sims 4 & Origin within your firewall. Repair your game through Origin (go to Game Library > right click on Sims > Repair), then try to launch it and see if it works. If so, go to Game Options > Other > enable cc, mods and script mods. You can now fully exit your game, go to your Documents folder and a new EA folder should show up. Now you're free to copy your Saves, Tray and Screenshots files from your old Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders to your new Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders (located in your new EA folder). Launch your game and check if everything works properly. If so, you can copy your old cc from your old Mods folder to the newly generated Mods folder (in small batches!!) and make sure to open your game every single time you paste those just to make sure that everything works properly. If you still encounter this issue, please try to identify the problematic cc and remove it from your Mods folder. Btw, you should place your cc into your main Mods folder, do not use subfolders as some cc might not show up in the game. Oh my god, I love you so much. At first I didn't know what do to because the problem was "trait tracker", but after looking on reddit a bit it. I found out you need to delete any occult, baby or outdated trait mods. I still couldn't find the exact mod that was conflicting my game but I still got my social events fixed that was bothering me for a while!

It won’t let me place any stuff in build mode, when ever I try and just says: “ Script call failed. “ I’m not sure what that means. I took out my mods folder, it worked. I don’t want to get rid of my CC though.
hi! i had the same problem. for a lot of others and me we had the mod " basemental drugs " installed. all you have to do is take that out and it should work! if you don't have the mod in your game and its still happening its just a different mod.

I always had my mods in sub folders. Do all the other mods need to be in just the main Mods folder without any sub folders? I never knew that’s what I had to with MCC
I hate you tell you. But MCCC is broken n they won't fix it. Ever since June 2020. It does not work right. I have had just MCCC nothing else in my Mods folder and it will tell me I have a Broken Mod or CC. If you play with Wicked Whims it will tell u ever 30mins that WW is broken. When it's not. Yet if I take MCCC out, all my mods & CCs work just fine. Also WW will let u know if there is a update when ur playing the game. I have tryed to let MCCC know this. But I get no where.

Do you have a video how to organise your mods folder, I have a lot of CC and mods from different creators but I want to keep them in folders. But I know with any script file and the mod that goes with it I know that they must be in a folder that is only one file deep not two or the game cannot pick up the script file.
That is a very good idea! I don't really recommend using subfolders, even for cc, as some won't work/won't even show up in your game if placed in subfolders, but I'll think about a way of organising your cc and I'll definitely upload a vid on that! Thank you so much for sharing this idea!
What I've always done is made one folder in mods called "TS4_scripts" because they can still be picked up and read from ONE subfolder, but no more than that. Packages can go about 2 or 3 folders deep. For the package files, I put them in their own folder which is either named after that mod, the creator, or the category. So far this hasn't created too any issues for me :3
I never rlly understood what the reason of the exception pop up but now that I think abt it I do have lots of broken stuff in my game that I was too lazy to take out 😭
Yass, sometimes it's kinda difficult to figure out what mods are broken in the last exception thing!! But one thing that helped me is actually deleting every single file that ends with ts4script (you can search that word in the search bar inside the Mods folder) and then reinstall those mods!

idk what to do but basically all the text in my game are these square boxes and idk how to fix it the loading screen doesn’t have text but these small boxes in place for each letters and nothing is fixing it 😭
Sorry to hear that! Here are some tips that may help: First off, try taking out all of your script mods from your Mods folder and check if your game works fine. If so, you probably need to download the updated versions for those and install them. If that did not work, you can try to reset your EA folder and then place only updated versions for your mods, as shown in here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--pCFvTcqQnQ.html Keep in mind that you should not delete the old EA folder in order to copy all of your saves, tray, screenshots & cc and paste those into your newly generated EA folder. (this has nothing to do with the video at least I think :') I just want help.) With my game, I cant place objects. I can delete items and everything normal i just cant place them. The side icons when you choose wither you want to place or select full (when they place a window for you or you place the window yourself) It looks weird. My door icons are replaced with windows. And everything are just replaced with random stuff.
Have you tried to enable bb.moveobjects on? Also, do you happen to have any outdated mods/cc in your Mods folder? The bunk beds update has been recently released; therefore, you have to update your mods & cc.

@@thatpatback ok, so I believe it was twistedmexi's mod. he updated his mods, so I replaced them and it seems to be working for me. also, I downloaded his "better exceptions mod" and it works better than the MCC mod for targetting broken files because it's more precise. I hope this helps!!
Hello, I have encountered problems with making interactions with other sims and I think it's because some of my mods are broken/corrupted? The bubbles won't show up when I click another sim, not even my own. I could not spot which mod/furniture is having problem. How can I fix that? It really frustrates me. Thanks!!
Mins still doesn’t work. It comes up with a name of a broken mod /cc but when I search for it , it doesn’t show up at all . It says interactions.base.create-object-interaction.Object definifition and then has a few number but nothing shows up . I’ve tried writing out every single word individually ..Any thoughts ?

I’m a bit confused at this point. My game works “perfectly fine”, but after playing for a few minutes (and sometimes even straight away from the start) my Sims aren’t able to eat, travel, make homework, read a book, teleport etc. I’ve tried several things like repairing the game, using the program to scan my cc and mods and apparentely I don’t have any broken mods, just a few that can conflict the game. But taking those particular ones out of the game still doesn’t help. Please, if anyone found a solution yet for this problem (or knows which mod/cc causes this) let me know cause it’s super frustrating.

Theoretically no, but if you're on Windows you can try to search that specific name on your taskbar and see if that mod pops up. If so, right click on it > open file location and see where's actually located. And then just remove it! You can also try to remove the localthumbcache.package file from your TS4 folder and then open your game to see if that excpetion is still showing up. Let me know if you need further help!
With the new update my game totally broke, i removed some mods, but not my build mode doesn't work. When i press it, it doesn't show anything and when i go back my menu gets broken and i even cannot quit the game. The MCC shows only some tunable stuff and only 0x errors. Any help? Edit: Turns out it was a colorslider UI mod that broke it all along, but now thx to you i can know for which mods to look for and i didn't knew MCC can used for this, your tutorials are really useful. Yes, so if this mod detects any kind of conflicts within your game, that last exception notif should show up in live mode and it should also generate a html file within your Mods folder that you can open using a browser. That page will tell you what are the mods/cc causing issues in your game. I truly hope this helps!
Since you said to put the MCC mod in just the Mod folder (not sub folder, which is what I had it in before) does that rule also apply for all of the other mods? I currently have my mods in separate folders, which is causing my game to lag and error thing to pop up. I am going to try it your way and keep them only in the mod folder no sub folder

Slice of life comes into a folder after unzipping it & needs to be put exactly as it comes after unzipping it if I made sense), you can put it like that (after unzipping it if it ends with rar/zip, ofc), but if the mod has 2 separate files/one individual file that ends with ts4script/package, then put it like that, do not create yourself a subfolder for that mod 🙏
@@Darielle I just looked up the Slice of Life Mod and I can see multiple folders in there. For the example you’re using you’re saying that for that mod it would be okay to add the multiple folders that are in the mod after I unzip it? I don’t have to pull them out of those folders and add them just to the mod folder, right?
But don’t put those folders inside another folder that you create in the mods folder, that’s what I’m saying, you know how we usually organise cc inside the mods folder into folders like clothes, makeup etc, this should not be done anymore (not even with cc bcs some won’t show up), so basically put the mods/cc as they come, directly into the mods folder

Just sort your mods by date and try to determine which one's old. When you've come down to a conclusion, look that particular mod up and see if there's any update for it! Hello there! So when you go inside your Documents folder, is there another Electronic Arts folder? If you click on it & go to your Saves and Tray folders, are lots of files in there? If not, we need to copy your Tray, Saves, your cc & screenshots files from the EA folder that is on your Desktop. So for instance go into the Desktop EA > Saves folder, select all of your files, copy and then go into your Documents > Electronic Arts > Saves folder and paste them in there. We should do the same for the Tray, cc and screenshots files :) Hope it makes sense & helps you out, let me know if it works! 😉

Hello there! Don't worry if your MCCC shows up in the script mods list as well as in the cc section, as it includes one package file that is basically considered a cc. Did you unzip your mod before placing it in your Mods folder? Did you put it in your main Mods folder (don't use subfolders!)?

that's odd. i have broken mods but the notification never came up. As well as I don't know which of my mods are broken but when i'm customizing my sims it has the weird question mark.
Ohh, I see.. Did you update your game & install the latest version for your mod? Btw, those red question marks can be due to broken cc/missing files (so if you downloaded a recolor for a cc, make sure to add your mesh as well and those question marks will disappear).

Is it a bed/sleep mod maybe? Try to search for these words inside your Mods folder (you might've installed the Replace Sleep Animation mod) and see if you happen to have any script mods related to those
As for your mods, please make sure you don't copy and paste the old ones. Just redownload them to be sure that everything works fine (they also need to be the latest version!)
Hey I have a very big issue with my sims so I bought the apartment mod whatever it name is. Downloaded it, I couldn’t place any objects I was able to and click on them but I couldn’t put them in my homes. I already restarted my sims and laptop

2:37 is when she starts talking about the mod that detects and what u should do before cleaning out ur folder. 5:50 is the time stamp to know how to locate the broken file use the mod. But she never told us HOW to specify the broken mod. Sooooooooo it’s like pointless.
When that orange notification pops up, a html file will be automatically generated in your Mods folder. Open that file using a browser and there you should find some errors that contain specific words, based on which you can determine what mod is broken, if it makes any sense!
There is also a mod called better exceptions With this one, you can generate a report that tells you what mods/cc need to be deleted Make sure you install the latest version 🙏

This happened to me & it’s most probably due to broken mods So here’s what can help: - open the mods folder - search ts4script in the search bar (inside the mods folder) - write down the name of each mod - delete all those ts4script files aka mods (that appeared in the search query) - delete the localthumbcache file from the sims 4 folder (this is a temporary file that gets piled up with broken stuff from broken mods, but it’s going to be clean after opening the game) - open the game and see how it goes! resetting the mods folder does wonders as well! We can reinstall those mods from the list ONLY if there are updated versions for them (you can check the release date on their website/creators website)
hi! so i have a question.. when i play with a certain sim my game crashes, but when i play with a different sim the game does not crash. (even tho the "broken" sim is still walking around). Yes, it might be tied to your cc, so you can either: 1. Try to change your Sim into other cc clothes/base game clothes 2. Get rid of your furniture cc from your house Or 3. Create a new slot for your family (by using the option 'save as' instead of 'save', restart your game & access the new save instead of the old one)
I’m having a problem where I can use my sim to click other sims and the pie menu pops up but when I try to have them interact with their significant other nothing pops up.This has never happened to me before. If anyone knows what to do or how to fix it I could use some help 😭😭😭
Have you tried to remove your broken mods after update? Most mods are broken after installing the game update, so def take a look at your script mods (things like MCCC, WW, ui cheats, Slice of life etc.), remove those, download & install the latest versions for them in your Mods folder. Mine doesn't say any mods has problems it says something about tmex mod but I can't find it also the spawning stuff like sims spawner unlock sim spawner seevixlce T.T please help 😣
Have you tried to take out any tmex mods that you have in your Mods folder? You can type in 'tmex' in your Mods folder search bar and then delete those files
I need some help is you see this. My sims game I tried to download extreme violent and when I did it went to my game and I had the traits so I put the trait in a sim and when I got to my game I clicked on my sims and normally the mod comes on in the options but mine does not show all the options when I click the mod. Any advice what to do?
Hello there! Do you happen to use an antivirus? Did you make sure that it's not blocking your EA folder & your Sims 4 game? You can avoid that by adding your game & your EA folder to the exceptions/allowed apps list! Did you also make sure to: 1.unzip your mod (if it has a zip/rar extension) 2. put it into your main Mods folder (don't use subfolders) 3. check if you have the resource cfg file inside your Mods folder? You also need to update your script mods, as those might be broken/outdated after installing the latest patch. Did that last exception notification pop up? If it didn't, that html file won't be generated. Have you looked into your Mods folder and tried to type in 'html' in that search field to see if there's one inside???
Hello there? Is your Mods folder too large to copy alongside your other folders included in your EA folder? You can esentially back up your whole EA folder on any other drive/folder, just make sure you're not pasting it in the same location (meaning your Documents folder)!
That notification is only related to mods, so every time you access a mod in Live Mode and it doesn't work, that pop-up will show up to warn you that something's wrong with a certain script mod! I truly hope it makes sense!
Ohhh so it only works for script mods? (I figured out that my issue was putting mods in a copy folder instead of the original so I'm good now since I can remove bad ones lol)

Sorry to hear that! So did you put your cc inside your Mods folder (not in subfolders)? Do you also have that resource.cfg file inside your Mods folder?
Hey there!! So the last exception file must be inside your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder. Does it not appear in the mods folder? If it does not, we can also try to manually search it by typing its name into the search bar! Do let me know if anything works for you 🙏

If you didn't, you can follow these steps: Rename your Electronic Arts folder in 'Electronic Arts OLD' and make a copy of this 'Electronic Arts OLD' folder & paste it on your Desktop, just to have a backup of your save files (do not delete this folder, you'll need it later on!). If you happen to use an antivirus, please try to add an exception for both your Sims 4 & Origin programs, as well as for the following websites: thesims.com & origin.com. Make sure to allow both Sims 4 & Origin within your firewall. Repair your game through Origin (go to Game Library > right click on Sims > Repair), then try to launch it and see if it works. If so, go to Game Options > Other > enable cc, mods and script mods. You can now fully exit your game, go to your Documents folder and a new EA folder should show up. Now you're free to copy your Saves, Tray and Screenshots files from your old Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders to your new Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders (located in your new EA folder). Launch your game and check if everything works properly. If so, you can copy your old cc from your old Mods folder to the newly generated Mods folder (in small batches!!) and make sure to open your game every single time you paste those just to make sure that everything works properly. If you still encounter this issue, please try to identify the problematic cc and remove it from your Mods folder. Btw, you should place your cc into your main Mods folder, do not use subfolders as some cc might not show up in the game. As far as mods go, make sure to download once again the updated versions for your mods (especially if you're using Adult mods!), extract them, copy and paste those files in your new Mods folder. Did you update your game as well as your MCCC mod? If you don't have any other script mods in your game, that might be why. And if you do, your mods might not be broken/outdated
Hello there! So a brand new update came out, have you tried taking out your script mods from your Mods folder, deleting the localthumbcache.package file from your TS4 folder & installing the latest versions for your mods? Let me know if it helps!

You can keep it in your game, but whenever an update comes out, you'll need to delete it & install the latest version for it, as you would normally do for other mods :)
Hey!! Can we search it in the search bar on the task bar and see if it shows up anywhere? It might be called trait tracker injector One thing that also helps me is: - dividing all mods & cc (in the mods folder) in 2 batches So if we have 200 cc & mods, we can cut + paste half of it (100 cc) into another folder that we create on Desktop - the first batch is gonna stay in the mods folder - the second one is gonna stay in that folder - delete this file from your TS4folder (localthumbcache.package) - open the game with half of your cc See how it works and if that pop up about that mod still shows up! If it does show up, then we can try to drag one file at a time from our mods folder to the desktop folder (where we have that second batch), open the game and repeat the process until that error no longer shows up! It’s mc command center! Whenever a mod is broken, a last exception notif pops up in the game 😀 Ps. Make sure you update mccc after every single game update (remove it & install the update in the mods folder) Hope it helps 🙏

Hello! Did you make sure to access/use your 'broken' mod? And did that orange notification pop up? Your html file won't show up in your Mods folder unless you have a broken mod in your game.
