I was pissed when then the auto companies started using proprietary software and my OBD scanner was useless. This is a God send that now I don’t have to run to the Dealer about and pay $100 every time the Check Engine light comes on

There are 100 scan you could buy that will do plenty on almost any brand..id never pay a dealer to turn the check engine light off..

Thanks so much Scotty. At this time, the 2024 version is $105 on Launch's eBay store. I was just about to buy a different scan tool costing hundreds of dollars more. As a DIY person, it was paining me to put out that amount of money, so I sat on it for a few days with the item in my cart. Then your video popped up on my youtube recommendations. This is exactly what I am looking for. Features galore, even ones only available on expensive scan tools, with low cost. As a DIY person who will not use this tool much, I wouldn't mind the slowness. This tool will allow me to learn more about my car.

I use a Creader eight, works on darn near anything and only set me back a couple hundred bucks new. Free updates. I bought it years ago, updated it free a few weeks ago. great for resetting things like airbags, abs, transmission as well as the usual things.

Xtool A30M is the best bang for buck. Does all cars and all systems scan. Bidirectional testing as well. I would just put in the extra money and get it $200 or $180 on sale. I've got mine now for just over a year and i love the thing.

I had misfire problems with my Grand Prix this fall looked at hundreds of scanners on AMZN from 10$ to 250$. They all had 4.5+***** stars and tens of thousands of certified purchases! So I gave up and bought none, just way too many choices! My 10$ HF will have to suffice for codes, and borrowing from the parts store for more. Sorry! I really wish i had the time to find what i want and narrow it down. Nice review Scotty, but i still can't trust it, there's hundreds more all with great reviews too! (And what was with the whole ABS vs non-ABS scanner thing on AMZN? that's really confusing...)

I remember my dad did a deal with a company to test a new OBD2 scan tool while working. This was in 2009. He was told it was a $23k tool and to not attempt to fix it himself he probably used it 4 times and it was as slow as an old Hilux but it worked and was extremely accurate if the vehicle was made correctly And for it's time it was probably worth that but nowadays my dad has a tool that does the same thing hooked up to his dashboard 24/7 that he got for $80 and tells him his temperature, boost and air density outside the engine Edit: spelling

I bought one of these last few years companies have been coming out with these.. They are pretty good only caution I would give is some companies wanna nickle and dime you for functions and addition cost.. So make sure read review before buy..

By far the best option if you have multiple makes. Isn’t a full can tool but gives you more than enough information for basic troubleshooting.

We all make mistakes, even Scotty, who knows about ten thousand times as much about cars and trucks as I do. Yes, it would be nice to have Scotty re-interpret the meaning of the display, knowing that no "7" was being displayed.

You can buy a cheap $25 OBDII scanner to simply check and reset error codes. That's what most people use them for. AND they work with ALL cars that have OBDII.

I recently replaced the alternator and the battery on my 2006 toyota corolla and everything works fine but since then ive had a battery light on the cluster but it is very dim. I wonder if this little scanner would tell me why that is. Anyone here might know something about it?

You can look up the answer on RU-vid. I’m sure there’s somebody that is had the similar problem but sometimes on certain cars you have to reset a check engine light or have it shut off I mean after the installation of your battery and alternator you probably have to have the light turned off.

Anyone know of a good inexpensive as in $200 or under that has relearning capabilities (bidirectional) for an older (2006) Infiniti. I know a lot of them say they do like 20 or 30 by directional features, but only like 2 or 3 of the capabilities work on my car TB reset A/F reset Injector shut down would be nice, $200 might be laughable though I do have the BlueDriver, which is awesome if that only it had directional capabilities Bluetooth or wired I know some apps are able to do this But which dongle is best? And which app? 2006 Infiniti G35
