PVP issue like all games like this will always be an issue till a Dev team figures out how to stop offline raiding, No one wants to loose all there stuff to some nerd that plays all day all night just to wait for you to get off so he can raid you.

Dead side had a really good fix. U get a base raiding token from someone u kill. And u can only use it over the next like 5 hours to raid them, and u can also only raid their group

They need to add base traps and more mechanics for defending/raiding. Also, different games modes would be nice. The Dojo is popular for a reason.

They need to make pvp quests and events. Like a pvp quest could be for a really strong pve weapon but only accessible after defeating a certain amount of players and collecting vampire blood. That they drop. A pvp event could be a monthly event that keeps you involved. Also boss raids would be awesome where you have to team up with others to even do anything to the boss like in Destiny.

there should be a similar to bloodmoon that buffs bosses where their level increase but also the gear they drop like cosmic gear this could solve the new game+ and increase the level to 200 vampires but then theres a question how to combine basic resources into more advanced one to craft these cosmic gear cause it can be a problem for new players in late game servers

That's a really cool idea! And that problem already exists for new players on late game servers. You could also do it without new gear dropping. A bunch of the most valuable resources could be enough to get that effect.

The problem with V-Rising, as is the problem with EVERY game reward is that you get an epic reward, and then never have a use case for it. We beat every boss in V-Rising, and 95% of the rewards were never used. You see this in MANY games. They offer you a challenge and an epic reward, that you never really use because you've already invested your time and effort into learning the weapon/skills you currently have available to you. V-Rising has this same problem. Sure.. great.. I got a new power with sucking some poor V-Blood monster, but.... I don't ever need to use it. There's no advantage to it. No boss is weak to any skill or skill school, so what's the point? I used the first 4 skills I got in the game for the majority of the playthrough. I only swapped to Illusion wolf and spear because I found a gem that gave me life from the wolves and the spear is just fun to use. Balancing a reward with it's useability is the toughest part of any game. If you give players loads of rewards but they never use them, you haven't really given them a reason to keep playing or replaying your game.

Yeah I agree wholeheartedly (is that a word). I think the game needs to either give you a reason to keep playing once it's "over". Live Events could absolutely be one. Or they should give you a reason to start over. I often wonder if it would be better if you didn't get everything. If progressing in one style of weapon or one spell school locked out another. That way there would be new things for you to see and do on a second playthrough. Anyway, thanks for watching the video and the insightful comment.

I mean you can stick to base spells but thats just you not experimenting with new abilities, you can very much use the new loot/spells or castle decorations. Do you NEED them not always, but that doesnt mean they are useless either. Bosses are definitely weaker to certain spell comps not stat wise but strategy wise it downs a boss faster for certain or to make it easier if you suck. aka dont be lazy and start experimenting

​@@Spriktor I mean, you could do that, but good game design motivates the player to use the resources it gives them. There are lots of ways to do that, such as rewarding players when they make use of the resources.

In addition to the shortcomings you brought up, my personal gripe with V Rising right now is that it gives you way too much information about what it expects you to be doing. You never get a chance to be curious or investigate the world around you because the game just _tells_ you what's happening. It would be much more interesting if V Rising withheld information about the world from the player until they discovered it organically. For instance, the game could require you to encounter a V-Blood first before you can track them. It would also be better if the game didn't tell you how many V-Bloods exist, so you can't just check off the list.

About the Information thing, I hate that you can see on the Map who owns which area. Playing solo mostly and i had it so often that i fucked with some people and then 5 mins later they just doorcamp me.

yes I agree with this, For some reason part way through act 2 on my game, all bosses were hidden briefly and i could no longer track them.. this was a relief to me as now I could explore and find them my self.... they showed back up able to be tracked after a relog sadly..

Thanks for the update video was looking for something like this. Just feel like the devs need to get more armor sets, and variablility with spells, gear, set bonuses and equipment. Hard to balance around a meta and the legendary weapons kinda work with this a bit. But There needs to be sets that direct improve spell schools or abilites allowing you to play combos and reworking abilties entirely like a diablo or world of warcraft gear set. These sets alter the abilties drasticly. Also feel the game needs something instance based. Like a dungeon you can clear or multiple. Don't want this game to become a mmo or too grindy. But really wish they would add some extra content that is repeatable that would help change the endgame more. I got that they're adding something but a new boss or a new biome might not be enough. Again this isn't a complain just wish they would do more with the game. From a passionate fan.

love this game but its still missing that "one thing" could be gear could be map size and verity.....its an amazing game but yeah after 3 weeks you run out of things to do or keep you logging in

Like I mentioned in the video I really hope that cross server live events could help. That way a dwindeling population on your server won't stand in the way of having fun with the game at later levels. As for me, replayability is a problem because you have to grind a lot in this game. What is more, if you are playing on a populated server, then, congrats, you can't access it on the weekends and therefore can't even taste a good chunk of the game. And to play the game you need to start all over again on the other server(less populated), but it may have lags and stuttering or rubberbanding. Then you just have to find another one, so it's the cycle of finding a properly working server and starting all over again. On the other hand, less populated servers don't have a live world, exactly because there is no one playing except on the weekend, or the server is old and everyone already has the gear to pretty much sweep you in one rotation, or no one plays it because you have to grind again and therefore it's just less time consuming to stare at the loading screen in attempts to connect to a populated server(which is NOT AN AUTOMATED PROCESS by the way). Furthermore, there are quality-of-life issues that make replayability more of a chore, than a fun time, for example, inventory managing, loot stacking, refining and crafting time(it's like I'm playing a browser game that demands me to pay for reducing waiting time of refining a brick), recipes farming, and of course honeycombing(this is the most cancerous mechanics I've ever seen in videogames, V rising is not the first one that utilizes it, but it doesn't make it more enjoyable to encounter)

First of all, thanks for the chunky comment. Love it! I agree with the server stuff. If Live Events are cross server happenings I think that'll do a lot. As for the QoL stuff I'm with you on some of it. I think trying and failing to find the recipes you need for better gear has been a big problem. But it's gotten better with the paper press and the merchants. As for the game being "grindy" and needing to wait for bricks to be refined and so on, I don't know if I agree with that being a QoL-issue. I'd say that's a part of the loop. As for honeycombing... I dislike everything that has to do with raiding. So I'm with you on that one as well.

As you pointed out, the main problem I have with V is that there is no variety. You get all the spells and all the gear every playthrough meaning that progression is linear which is not really all that exciting. You also have to kill all the bosses in order to get all the stuff you need to progress which is dumb. It would be better if the bosses just gave good loot instead so that they're still worth killing but not compulsory.

Yeah. It'll be interesting to see how breaking the parity between V Blood Bosses and aquiring spells will affect the game. I wouldn't mind if aquiring a certian spell or maybe even an entire spell school locked you out of another.

@@JohnPhoelix What if defeating a boss, rather than always granting you the same spell, allowed you to choose between 2 different spells? Defeat the Alpha wolf, you can choose to unlock wolf form or summon wolf. Some spells can be unlocked via multiple bosses, so there's always a chance that a power you missed out on can come back around, but not always. This means you would have to be careful as you never know when this is your last chance as to weather or not this power/spell will be an option for you.

I need to see something with servers. Every single major wipe all the servers are popping. We have no idea which servers will die and which ones will keep a steady player base. How do you fix this? No one wants to start over 4-5 days in because there server died. Even then you will have to wait for a server to wipe. I would love to see a vampire migration system. Once a server has progressed enough days or a boss has been slain. A dark portal or something opens up and vampires from a dying world are able to crossover into a more populated server. This portal can open and close based of player population over a period of time. So servers don't become to full or to dead. I know I'm asking a lot on the technical side but I truly believe this would Keep player retention. I would love to restart on fresh wipe servers more often if I knew I could always find pvp and it not die out becoming a big waste of my time.

This is a great point. And something SLS have thought about. I touch on it in my interview with Jeremy Bearson. The tough thing about that is how much your castle is tied to the progression of your character. And how they'd go about transfering tht with you. So it's a litte tricky but I'm with you. That would be great.

That's a valid concern. However, wouldn't that just result in one or a few types of armor becomong the meta? Just like we've seen with certain weapons and spells in PVP. The solution to that isn't removing every other spell and weapon. You either try to balance or accept that PVP has a certain meta and other things are better suited for PVE. For example the skeleton shield is amazing in PVE but absolutely iseless in PVP. I think that's fine. And as a final point. Coming from Battlerite I think SLS did very well balancing that game. But again. I see your point and it's not a bad one. Thanks for the comment!

I can't see this game be successful without changing the core problems. * The maps are too small so that everyone is crammed together in an urban Vampire City filled with castles. * The servers are too small so that even though you are surrounded by vampire castles, there is hardly anybody online most of the time. * The non-official servers are a joke with the hosts randomly changing rules until they just shut it down out of nowhere, but the official servers always have certain settings enabled not everyone will enjoy, like frequent progress wipes. * The combat feels terrible in PVE and it's obvious why, they just took it from their 4v4 PVP arena game. * There is no point to build castles with defense in mind in PVE, even though that's a big portion of the fun and would make for awesome tower defense gameplay.

I see your point about the map and server size. As I point out in the video, retaining activity on a server is a big challenge for the game right now. However, the server wipes is something that many players asked for. And there are official servers without them so I don't see how that could be a core problem. And I think the combat feels great. In PVP and PVE. In fact I'd go so far as to say that it's one of the biggest strengths the game has. But that's my opinion. Yours is valid too. However I think you're pointing out why you'll never like the game rather than why it'll never be successful. Every game can't suit every gamer. Anyway, thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

@@JohnPhoelix also the public servers are a joke too, last time I played with my friends a few kiddos got angry and made a few huge swarms get inside the server, everyone left the server then the swarms after beating everyone up and giving the kiddos the shards said that they leave but if someone touches the shards theyll be back, no sense on playing pvp if im just gonna try to have some kind of fair pvp just to get a bunch of kiddos bringing 40 players to take care of their asses and devs keep not addresing that

I agree with all of this. The most fun I've had with raiding is turning into Granny form and going around with voice chat telling everyone to behave. The actual raiding was never appealing to me.

@@JohnPhoelix Weve owned all shards on multiple servers. every single time its the whole server vs us then we just get wiped. cause its a 15v4. i think a declaring system would be great. where you chose a castle to raid. but your put into a bubble with no 3rd partys. just you vs other clan.
