3:57 yeah, the god boon balance patch added new incantations and one of them was to allow warding circles to recharge your hex. I think this is to address the complaint that in Erebus your builds don't expend much magic yet and enemies are so weak that it can be hard to fully charge a hex, making Erebus hex takes usually be a wasted room reward, so the warding circles bypass the magick charge to allow early hex usage
One build i particularly enjoyed with a hex was omega special witb torches and the impervious 5 sec (transform) hex. I could spam the omega special then hex went up and i could just stand on the bosses
I didn't know double strike affected all of those boons, I thought it was specific to the boons with actual lightning strikes. im gonna use zeus a lot more now lmao
