I think people are missing the true power of this bow by making loadouts that are very focused on suspend. There's already lots of builds in the game that can suspend everything. What appeals to me about this bow is that it frees up the other aspects of your build to do other things and take advantage of the inherently extremely synergistic of Strand, because your suspend is all being taken care of by your exotic weapon. I would MAYBE use one other source of suspend like a Shackle Grenade, but then use the rest of my build to do other Strand things. If you use Whirling Maelstrom with this, you're taking advantage of the Tangles you make from killing suspended enemies to put a lot more damage and Unraveling on the field. If you use Threaded Specter with this, you're putting a decoy that will draw aggro, you're spawning Threadlings to attack enemies and inflict more damage. If you add Thread of Fury and Thread of Mind, then you're getting constant uptime on not only your Threaded Specter, but your Threaded Spike, so you're spreading Sever everywhere to reduce the damage enemies inflict. All of this together creates an incredibly oppressive amount of crowd control that is more holistic and feeds into itself more than a one-dimensional "suspend everything" build. And you can rely on your special and heavy weapons to deal damage to bigger targets.
Thank you dude, this is what I’ve been saying I mean this now is effectively a shackle grenade what’s the point of making a build for it when it can already do it- it’s not like hitting suspended targets gives it its special arrow back faster or anything. I’ve been using this on my banner of war titan and it’s felt great so far.
Exactly. I use this on multiple builds with varying effectiveness but all usable and fun. So far one of my favorites was a Ninja/Shinobi/Assassin style build with Assassins cowl on strand with maelstrom and threaded specter. Grenade can be anything, I like grapple for the utility and better Assassins Cowl synergy. Fragments can also be anything but the most important is the Thread of Mind. Essentially you're using your cowl and threaded specter to weave in and out of aggro while building suspend stacks. I found that from a single suspend trap I can usually get my dodge back allowing essentially 100% up time on clones. Whirling Maelstrom is just great for passive damage while you're doing your thing. edit: I've also been using this on a Shards Solar build. 100% uptime of Resto and Radiant with access to strand is great. Plus that artifact mod that gives 5% extra damage on strand or stasis debuffed targets while radiant. It works surprisingly well.
I agree and disagree, using the bow as your only source of suspending feels really bad in gm content, I have the bow, 2 shackle grenades, then aspects around threadlings and the melee dodge. The ensnaring slam is definitely a bad pick, it doesn't come up quickly enough to be valuable. Much better to use melee dodge since the rope dart does quite a bit of cc damage. And foetracer as the exotic, way better than the coyote chest, its only useful in pvp imo.
Great build! In my own experience I found the best way to make use of this bow on this build is to use either oathkeeper, or foetracer. Ensnaring slam is okay but In higher end content where you can’t close the gap often you don’t get much use out of it. Using whirling maelstrom was a lot more deadly with how many tangles you’re making with the bow. If your gameplay loop is efficient enough you don’t need more suspend options other than the bow itself and grenades. Also making use of unraveling rounds (seasonal artifact) helps create more tangles. And lastly food for thought. When enemies are suspended all hits count as precision hits so you can be less accurate and worry more about just killing all the suspended enemies to keep the loop going
In case anyone was curious though: Oathkeeper in PvE isn't that great and I would go for Foetracer. There's some topics on it but essentially Oathkeeper gives you about the same damage in a full draw as you would just shooting normally during that time. A single full draw was about 4-5 shots normally making the DPS increase negligible at best.
Couldn’t agree more! this season would have been so much better without that nerf, makes me not want to bother with solar hunter because I’m always thinking yeah not bad but the spine arms would do it better
The suspend aspect does not increase suspend time from the exotic bow. It’s been tested, this is what the catalyst does with one of the options. So don’t use the aspect for just the bow cause it don’t work.

Been having a BLAST with this on Warlock! Broodweaver, Swarmers, Threadling Grenade, Weavers Call + Wanderer. Thread of Rebirth, Finality, Evolution & Generation. Grab the Strand Artifact Perks, 100 Discipline, 100 Recovery, aim for 100 Resilience also but a little less isnt a massive issue. Solar/Strand Siphon, Heavy Ammo Finder Momentum Transfer, Bolstering Detonation Recuperation, Solar Surge, Strand Surge (If you can fit it) Bomber, Time Dilation, Powerful Attraction. Wish-Keeper, Crafted Zaouli's Bane, Crafted Apex Predator. You're a Threadling generating machine, Suspend with the Bow, Unravelling everything in sight!
I think the bow can be added into a whirling male storm build, as it gives you some more crowd control like you mentioned. Or adding it to another strong build like a HoiL pulse grenade build to get more ionic traces from targets since they’re staying still
Try your hand at the solo run with no matchmaking. Coil scales things up by fireteam size. It's not quite the same as the legendary campaigns but it definitely feels way easier to me than running with randoms that don't collect shards and pull you to the next encounter so now you've wasted 20mins and have no rewards to show for it. Coil is a long activity that gets hard so I'd seriously recommend learning to solo it or only doing it in pre-made teams if you actually want rewards.
Idk if this has been suggested before, but I highly recommend trying Nezarec's Sin on non-void subclasses. Since it procs on *any* void kill and not just abilities, you can use void weapons on non-void subclasses and get energy for all your abilities as long as you can keep getting kills. Naturally Commemoration is the go-to pick just because of how potent it is baseline without any build-crafting needed, but there are other solid options (my personal favorite is Fighting Lion, but weapons such as Buried Bloodline could be interesting to also get devour to double-dip on grenade regen). This works especially well with subclasses that don't intend to directly get kills with grenades, since getting non-void ability kills encroaches on Nezarec's Sin uptime. Specifically, utility-based grenades such as strand with weaver's trance, stasis with bleak watchers, and my personal favorite solar with healing grenades are all *very* solid options. The healing grenade variant is especially good when you're matching with less than ideal teammates, since between Ember of Benevolence and Abyssal Extractors (both of which stack together), as well as your natural grenade regen through mods and such, you can have surprisingly high uptime on your abilities. This season in particular, I've been having a ton of fun with Fighting Lion along with the artifact Blast Radius and stacks on stacks, giving me two charges per double kill with the Lion which feeds super easily into grenade kickstart. Even though it doesn't take the best advantage out of the artifact, it's still a solid boost and the build works perfectly fine without the artifact, so I feel it was worth commenting~
I wish it was just a bit more consistent with the stasis arrows. I used to be able to refill my 5 shots every time now I'm lucky if I get more than two shots back.
@craigdavis5818 Not to sound like a dick, but, you might be doing something wrong. Are you rocking whisper of fissures? It works with Verglas and depending on the number of enemies frozen, you constantly have three, four, five arrows ready to go. There's also the seasonal artifact mod that increases shatter damage to encased enemies

Void Widowmaker Class: Warlock Subclass: Strand ( Ya, wait for it) Exotics: Graviton Lance, Nezarec's Sin Quick Summary: Simple, Gravitron mixed with strand Warlock suspends everything on the battlefield and destroys them with Cosmology. Absorb grenade and start shooting. Orbs spawn like mad to feed all your abilities. If you run into something a little tough, hit it with a melee and unravel them to death. Taken this through Grandmaster. Grenade: Shackle Aspects: Wanderer & Mindspun Invocation Fragments: Wisdom, Fury, Transmutation, Warding Primary: Choice of Strand but prefer Scatter Signal myself. Energy: Graviton Heavy: Users Choice but prefer Retrofit Helm Mod: Heavy and Void Siphon Arms: Impact Induction, Momentum, Firepower Chest: choice of resistance and Charged Up. Boots: Innervation and double Void surge Bond: Reaper, Bomber, time dilation Stats: Resist, Dis, and Int. Let me know what you think!
Build suggestion: What I consider the ultimate hunter trickster/trap build: Subclass: strand Aspects: threaded Spector, whirling maelstrom Fragments: thread of generation, thread of ascent, thread of propagation, thread of fury Exotic weapon: dealers choice but I like quicksilver for tangle generation / unravel rounds from thread of propagation Exotic armor: mothkeepers wraps Mods: Head: dynamo, strand siphon, ammo finder of choice Arms: focusing strike, bolstering detonation, impact induction Chest: Your choice of defense mods Legs: I like to go all out on weapon surge mods but up to you Class: reaper, bomber, time dilation The play style of the build is essentially go go random bulls-t. Pretty much everything you do helps you get atleast one ability back so your constantly throwing out moths that blind targets, melees that sever / grant unravel rounds, decoys to distract enemies and spawn threadlings all while your beyblade tangle is also running around the battlefield. Really plays into the hunter rouge fantasy.
i also have a fun random bs build thats pretty similar. For the exotic weapon I use Buried Bloodline to get devour to help spam more moths and I use thead of rebirth/evolution in place of thread of ascent/propagation, a strand weapon with hatchling and the seasonal perks unraveling orbs/horde shuttle. It clearly only works as well as it does for this season but lets me make up to 3 threadlings if I get a headshot kill to add even more random bs. Honestly my favorite build this seaon. It might not be as strong as some other builds but it's both fun and viable for most content.
Love the "Will it Build" vids, most enjoyment I get out of Destiny is running the builds you put up. In terms of what I want for Christmas, I'm a simple man, good health and good food is all I ask for. Keep up the awesome work
Great build! I guess the reason I don’t like wish-keeper is that suspend is not the best for mini-bosses and champs anymore. If I want ad clear, I’d use trinity ghoul. It also requires much more effort to proc the perk than I think is worth it. Especially when strand warlocks can suspend an entire room by consuming a grenade and getting a few kills on ads Honestly the catalyst should make it more like trinity. If you suspend 3 or more targets or so, the perk refunds.
Suspend is still very much top tier for mini bosses and champs. The nerf they did just made it less cheesy as you could practically suspend them indefinitely. But with wish keeper, you can suspend them multiple times in a row so that helps mitigate that. I use it all the time in GM na sukú just need to learn when to suspend. It should be supplementary on champs. Do damage first, suspend and finish it off
I see it as a sort of Wicked Implement role. Great for high end content due to the weapon type (scout/bow), can synergize with subclass verbs but can also loop by itself without the need for it. I think it is worth noting that Hatchling will likely add to the suspend stacks if they kill enemies as it should count as being a part of the weapon. So you can lean more into stack generation with Hatchling or go more for damage with Vorpal. But more importantly the extended suspend duration perk. If that is significant? That might bring it back to old suspend days making it one of the best ways to suspend mini-bosses and champs.
Bro said trinity ghoul 💀 lmao. The new sidearm with voltshot is better, or just use a wave frame gl. My primary of choice in GM is either wish ender or quicksilver storm.
Hey i have a build its a strand warlock build Subclass strand Healing rift whatever jump you prefer arcane needle for the meelee and the grenade you want to take the suspend grenade Your aspects you want to take the wanderer, and mindspun invocation For fragments ln the build you want to take thread if warding, thread of fury, thread of generation,thread of finality For the exotic you will take felwinters helm Helmet mods: you want to take two harmonic siphons and one hands on Gauntlets mods: grenade kickstart , heavy handed, bolstering detonation Chest piece mods: you want to take any damage risist mods and charged up if you want Leg armor mods: absolution,recuperation,invigoration Class item mods: reaper, outreach,bomber Weapons any legendary strand weopon(mykels reverence is prefered) or quicksilver storm for your secondary any good secondary auch as a wave frame like dead messenger which is what I used so I recommend it and any heavy weopon on your artifact make sure you have unravling rounds on The game play is to eat your grenade put down your rift then throw out your melee and get a kill with your weopon then pick up the orb and rinse repeat I hope you try this build out its really fun and I'd like to know if anything works better then what i have on
My christmas wish is for 2024 to be kinder for everyone. Seems like this year was a rough one for many for LOTS of reasons including the tons of people who worked on this very season / the bow / the exotic mission and might not longer be at bungie. Here's to a brighter 2024 ❤
All i want for Christmas is for Matics to read the whole weapon description before reviewing it... not only do you get archers tempo on suspending a target, but also do ~50% more damage to suspended targets... which is somewhat important...
Oddly enough, I was working on a similar build yesterday but with maelstroms instead. Your build is a lot more fun, especially when using a sidearm or smg with voltshot or volatile. As for what I'd like for Christmas? To be fully recovered from my spinal surgery and being able to walk and be more mobile than I have been this past year. Nothing makes a person more humbled than being put in such a situation as mine.
A tip for the final boss on starcrossed. If you kill both yellow bar taken phalanxes the hydras rotating Shields go down and stay down. Same with the yellow bars they don’t come back

Heavy (Rocket Launcher) Armor: Spec for Resilience and strength - Helmet (Ashes to assets, Harmonic siphon) - Arms (Momentum transfer, Firepower, harmonic loaders) -Chest (Damage resist mods, 1 of each -Legs: 2 Surge mods maybe 3 -Class item (Reaper, Time Dilation) Gameplay loop: Get a kill with a grenade pick up the orb jump in the air kill everything and never die Everything about this build plays into the fantasy of swooping down (collecting orbs from the air) and jumping back into the air like a damn Manticore PS. I got a build i like to use. Its all about crowd control and fast supers with strand hunter. Radiant Dance Machines and melee regen dodge. Double Hands on and Heavy Handed. Plus the orbs of power after doge on class armor. Aspects are Threaded Specter and Whirling Malestrum. Just spam your strand melee for huge damage in groups and super fast Super regen. Everything else is dealers choice. The Wish Keeper is also fun to use with this build.

I like running this bow with Foe Tracer. The issue it has right now is that it feels like it does no damage, which Foetracer rectifies. Key points: Shackle Grenade Maelstrom/Widows Silk - running Strand Hunter without Beyblades feels bad Generation / Evolution / Rebirth / Continuity Your standard mod suite: Reaper / Bomber / Harmonic Siphon / Heavy Ammo Finder / Recuperation / Invigoration / Powerful Attraction- we don't need surges because we're using Foetracer From the artifact make sure to grab Unraveling Orbs and Horde Shuttle. I like to use the Cataphract GL as my heavy and a Solar weapon in my energy slot so I can still proc radiant.
Will it build? Classic Void Titan Bringing back an old exotic that's been forgotten but still holds in end-game content. Tested in legend lost sector and it did amazing. Subclass: void w/sentinel shield Barricade: rally --- Melee: flex but I use throw Nade: vortex Aspects: offensive bulwark/bastion Frags: instability/remnants/starvation/undermining Exotics: wavesplitter/doom fang pauldron Heavy: void rocket / Kinetic: flex for champs Armor mods: -helm: special finder/harmonic siphon/ashes to assets -glove: momentum transfer/impact induction/firepower -chest: resists xe -legs: innervation/void surge/ harmonic scavenger -mark: bomber/powerful attraction/time dilation Objective: get void kills fast AF to get and keep x4 void surge from doom fang up. Gameplay loop: I like to start with a nade for easy kill. After kill, I drop cade to collect orb and start hosing red bars down with wavesplitter while overshielded to max out my void surge atacks. I throw shield if needed, but mostly save that for after cade goes down to maintain my overshield. Rocket yellows and bosses/champs. Cast sup when necessary. The extra shield throw during super is nasty. Really brainless rotation, great for a crayon eater like me! You can also run this as solar with path of burning steps exotic leg or arc with eternal warrior exotic helm. While the solar seems nice because you get max surge stacks on a nade kill, the arc one is less awesome, but still doable if you need to run arc.
If you really wanna mess up enemies: Blinding GL + Mantle of Battle Harmony Strand Warlock. Once you get full super you get 4x Strand Surge for free until you use your Needlestorm, which you should only be using when you need to delete the highest of priority of targets. This allows the bow to easily takedown enemies in end game content because it hits way harder to earn precision kills for massive stacks. You can consume your shackle grenade to suspend all enemies around the adds to get even more suspension AND lets you keep your Snareweaver arrow for on demand suspension like a grenade instead. Rinse and repeat. It's the easiest suspension build in the game
Since this is a suspension build just a quick note about the hunter super. Its like arcstaff in the sense of u have infinite dodge energy while in super. So with the suspension dodge aspect u can spam it while in super. Very effective in content with unstoppables or just champs in general or a bunch of mini bosses
Personally I'm a fan of the synergy with Foetracer for hunters, frees up the feet mods for whatever you want. Personally running 2 mobi mods so I get 100 mobility, but I could just as easily see someone running stacks on stacks and some other orb mods. The damage from foetracers is just 4x current subclass weapon buff, and stacks with the 50% suspension (as far as I know, haven't strictly tested it) and it feels pretty good against pretty much all but the boss enemies. I also swap slam for whirling maelstrom, cause tbh I just don't wanna be jumping up and down xD For additional stuff too for dealing with tougher enemies, you can swap out to something like the Marcato-45 machine gun with sever on it to help survive and kill things with the foetracer buff.

Be keen to see this suspend build with whirling maelstrom nades! There’s be less sore fingers from firing constantly as whirling would just clean up those suspended enemies. Although there’s a gud strand build with scatter signal & maelstrom.
i actually run this with foetracer and the maelstrom aspect over the suspend shatterdive thingy, you proc snareweaver and kill one guy suspended and he’ll drop a tangle and you shoot the tangle and it rips apart everything suspended in your trap. its like a spider its very fun

All i want for Christmas is for u to try my build Solar warlock with well, healing rift/pheonix dive, celestial fire, healing grenade. Aspects touch of flame and icarus dash. Fragments empyrean, wonder, blistering, ashes. Weapons are Polaris Lance, solar machine gun, and a fusion - i use chill clip riptide. Exotic armor is dawn chorus. Helmet mods are harmonic siphon, special and heavy amo finder. Arm mods are harmonic loader(can change if you dont mind slower reload) grenade kickstart, impact induction. Chest mods are mods of your choice. Leg mods are harmonic holster(can change if you have a machine gun that can load itself) stacks on stacks, and a mod of your choice. Bond mods are bomber, outreach, reaper. Artifact mod requirements are kindling trigger, flint striker, revitalizing blast, rays of precision - use torch if your teamates have strand or stasis. Main focus of the build is to stay back and ignite everything with polaris, use healing grenade to get restoration and imediatly get kills with solar to extend the duration, use fusion or heavy to take out enemys that get to close, and provide healing support for your fireteam. Also i recommend max resilience with high intilect and good discipline.
Super Good Advice: You don't have to hit suspended target crit spots to do full damage - ANY hit will do full damage on full draw. Give your wrists and arms a break.
Try it with foe tracer it does more champion damage if you shackle the champion or snare them and if you run whirling maelstrom and trap a group of adds you can add clear better and it procs the damage boost for foetracer if you throw your spike at a group you can spawn two maelstroms at a time by throwing one and shooting one that might spawn here and there . With two strand surges you do decent damage and for shields i run a disruption break gl wave frame you can do up to 40k per shot if you do it right maybe more.
Would this work better with whirling maelstrom and foetracer? You suspend with the bow, get your tangle with a melee kill, set the tangle off, and then foetracer gives you a bow damage buff since maelstrom is damaging enemies?
I tried that build before and it was really good but I happen to have more fun on my strand assasins build which includes wish keepers but not the shackle grenade but grapple to add unraveling on top of it Pros: you get to suspend and go invis on top of getting health Cons: you’ll have to get three precision finall blows with the bow in order to get the full potential of the build

I have a build that’s centered around the wish keeper bow. Using oath keepers as the exotic for higher damage this build has plenty of suspended options and lots of add clear potential. You need shackle gernade, whirling maelstrom, ensuring slam. For fragments you need thread of rebirth, continuity, mind, and evolution. I’m interested to see if you try it out or if you like it
I can’t wait for the perks to release for this bow. Haven’t used it much due to this however I prefer using cowl with this exotic and whirlwind because it suspends enough on its own

What I want for Christmas health and happiness for my family. Corny, I know. In addition to keep it Destiny themed at least, I would love to have one day back with D1 pre-nerf Gally. Solar burn Skolas back in the day was both the most toxic LFG experience, and incredibly fun since I was fortunate enough to have a G-Horn pretty early on. Merry Christmas everyone.

I did a build similar to this but instead of ensnaring slam, I used threaded spectra. This way after enemies are suspended, the spectra finishes them off...and any yellow bars are in finisher status (or close to it) so i can finish them and make instant special ammo. I hip fire bows a LOT in normal use , so I REALLY wish it did not automatically deploy the snare when hip firing. Perhaps hold R to deploy, the same mechanic bungie has used.

I would use strand titan with Abeyant leap. Use thread of fury, continuity, generation, and mind. Use Drengrs lash and banner of war with shackle grenades. That way you’re dealing high damage and getting a bunch of energy with this bow.
I have a cool stasis warlock build you could try that uses Winterbite as a primary weapon and karnstiens to self sustain. Aspects: Iceflare bolts and Frostpulse Fragments: Shards, chains, refractions, fissures Grenade: Glacier The goal is to take advantage of the powerful melee attacks from the winterbite as much as possible and everything else facilitates its uptime. I will sometimes shoot with it but most of the time I keep at least one ammo in it for the slow/freeze on the melee hits. With kinetic surges the melees will gen orbs and kills with proc karnstiens to keep you alive. Throwing a glacier nade at adds will freeze them and using the melee from the glaive will shatter multiple crystals causing large AOE damage. I also pop the frost pulse rift to have as much cc as possible, and the rift energy is refunded by refraction which allows for constant use of this ability. Iceflare bolts maintain cc even further. And the constant amount of frozen enemies and crystals will proc chains for the damage resist. For armor mods I would rock resists and maybe an energy reinforcement because of how close you are to adds. My stats are 100 resil, 100 recov, and 100 disc. The resil helps you stay in melee range, disc for the nade, recov for the rift. (Important) Also for optimal usage of the glaive melee hold the block button while you hold the melee button. This allows for animation canceling and lets you melee faster. Spam the jump button while doing this do melee even faster.
listen brother lemme put you on something, broodweaver warlock, the new bow, the wanderer and mindspun invocation as the aspects, the fragments can be changed but I like evolution (artifact makes this important) continuity, wisdom (you get so many orbs) and generation ( but you can use warding if you want more survival), the armor is the eye of another world , you put dynamo and harmonic siphon, on the gloves have strand loader, impact induction and focusing strike, on the chest put sniper resist cuz you plan to play in mid to far range most of the time, legs get innervation and 1 strand + 1 solar surge, then on the bond use bomber, attraction, and dilatation. in the artefact get torch (teamates might make you radiant) blast radius for your gl and rocket, dragons bite, unraveling orbs, hoard shuttle (this is a must) and argent ordnance. The way it works is in ad dense content like the coil you consume your shackle grenade and everything you kill suspends everything near by, kill one to get and orb of power and use your rift to pick it up to gain unraveling orbs, kill an enemy with the bow and youll spawn a threadling and a tangle, throwing the tangle will create a suspending explosion on whoever you hit and every time a threadling gets a kill it makes a tangle too so throw that as well, you get a ton of tangles which means a ton of suspending, you have weavers trance so killing anything suspends the stuff around it, you have the bow with the 50% damage boost to everything, and if you use your meele off cooldown, that plus generation, and eye of another world get your grenade back really quick, its not perma uptime but you dont really need perma uptime, ALSO I forgot to mention but just use your super on anything big, you make a ton of orbs so you get the super back pretty often, and in terms of champs, the suspend beats unstoppable champs while the unraveling beats barrier champs, just dont get unstoppable bow and you can beat both with it and hope your teamates have something for overload and boss dps, cuz youll only really have the GL and Rockets (strand titans will love you if you keep suspending the boss while they hack away)
What I want for Christmas is a Gambit strike team. More maps, new mechanics, better loot. I know it's a big ask but I've been a good Guardian this year 🙂
