I mean I wouldn't call it unapologetic, because that implies people have problems with it. It's just a really nice effort for a big quality of life change.
Bag of Orange Pegs is actually a reference to Peggle, the original pegging game, where you had to hit all the orange pegs in a level to beat it and as the number of orange pegs went down you got an increasing score multiplier.
@@kittywar123maybe he thought it was about the ironclads energy symbol? It's the only thing I can think of but it definitely seems more likely it's a peggle reference
@@jjteam_3485 It's just literally called Orange Pellets. The effect has nothing in common with the bag of orange pegs though. Also, the Orange Pellets in Slay the Spire are themselves a reference to Dark Souls.
I really love how the editors are doing the new descriptions for the upgrades and orbs. They feel peglin-esque, but still clear enough to explain the things! the general edits are also really funny!
18:46 found this out couple months ago. You don’t get overflow on the mirror unless it’s over the actual hp of the mirror. Your damage is just x2 when you hit it so you’d have to do over 999 damage to “overflow” the damage.
i really like this new style of displaying effects and terms, its helpful but not crowded or distracting, i love how much work the editors put into these videos because it brings the viewing experience above and beyond :)
I was the one guy who complained about the new popup edits two episodes ago. These new ones are AMAZING! They're smaller, don't get in the way, and I love them so much thank you. I don't know if anyone ever saw either of my comments but thank you for fixing it anyway.
Dude the editing was amazing on this video, love the constant experimentation in trying to find the best way to edit. Its awesome! Keep it up, you too Tyler!
The editing has increased SO much over the last few years, always LOVE to see Peglin but also can't wait that some day we may be blessed with Turmoil 2 (I found the channel through Turmoil 1 during first lockdown in 2020) or Bloons TD 7 or whatever the next one will be! I'd love to see what editing could happen while Tyler goes for CHIMPS world records. Although I also enjoy Tyler's non WR focused more chilled out style now as well...
BIG fan of the editing on this channel, this series especially! Really making good use of that Patreon money! :P And I really wish this game had longer maps so one could become even more OP, maybe even a procedurally generated endless mode that adjusts to your stats to keep it challenging?
God i love how the editor's showing the info on screen, both doesn't distract from the video and helps people who maybe don't know what some relic or orb is understand
7:47 The drawback of the squirrels, I’ve found while playing, is that it sucks on navigation. I’ve missed many elites and chests due to those damn squirrels, but they are very nice in combat.
Yeah I love the reduced tool-tip editor additions. There was one point during the last peglin episode 70% + of the screen was text and info / tylers face and it was super confusing. And I actually play peglin sometimes. Very good addition and change on this episode IMO.
20:07 it is actually a peggle reference, its how orange pegs work in that game, and how the more orange pegs you have hit, the more of a multiplier for points you get
hey aliensrock for me your videos always upload at 7 in the morning for me so every single morning for like a year now I've enjoyed a cup of coffee while watching your videos, thanks for making my days a little bit better
Bag of Orange Pegs is really powerful in a non refresh build, it can either grant a 2x, 3x, 4x dmg multiplier depending on how many pegs remain and if you somehow have no pegs on the board you get a 10x multiplier
Definitely like the new descriptions a lot more than the colorful boxes, way less invasive for people who already know the orbs but still useful for others
Could the golden descriptions be a bit higher on the screen? Currently they're blocked by the progress bar, settings, closed captions, full screen, etc. So if you want to pause the video to look at them, they're a bit obscured. Other than that, love the descriptions. Super useful!
I just realized the Jack-Orb-Lantern's effect is a reference to one of Peggle's characters whose ability does the same thing, causing the ball to teleport to the top of the screen once after hitting a green peg
bought this game after watching a couple of these vids and it has been so much fun. cant believe its still in early access considering how fledged out it is. makes me even more hype for the full release of the game
Props to the editors for putting on screen what every orb and relic do! It really helps, but could you please move it to the top of the screen? Currently it gets hidden by the video UI when you try to pause to read it.
I feel the squirrel ball shouldn’t add hits to itself the relic. Although this would cause it to lose the fun of having 20 squirrel balls, it’ll balance it out fairly.
I got this game after seeing your videos and played for like 3 hours last night, I got the “Highway Orbery” and spinfection(?)(it was the music note ball) so I had like a level 12 Highway Orbery by the end of the run with like 24+ crit damage it was awesome! Thanks for getting me into this game Tyler! I now have another rogue like addiction
18:43 it wasn’t an exact kill, the overkill just doesn’t count the 2x damage to mirrors multiplier. So 466 damage is less than the health the mirror had, but 466 x 2 kills the mirror. The former calculation is used to say no overkill damage happens, and the latter to say it still kills the mirror
I think a cool alteration to the squirrel could be to lower it’s thing to 30 and have the amount to trigger be upped by 5 per time it triggers resetting at the end of the fight for both the trigger and it’s active count.
Is say spin ventor is honestly the perfect balance for a character in terms of orbs and relics found. It is interesting, chaotic, and encourages exploring and making synergies. Balladin without ballwalk is a hard challenge at times, and roundrel either wants you to go crit, crit or spinfection. It would be cool if they added 3 new characters: 1. focused on crits and refreshes and thus remove crits from roundrel. Also new orbs that on crit do something different. 2. A summoner who instead of throwing orbs, summons a goon infront of him with the +x/+y being atk and hp. And 3. A pure chaos bringer: Random stats on orbs, random effects on shot and exit, chance for the orb to change in flight, shoots a random orb from your deck, summoning circle summons any orb in the game, etc. Those would be fun
I would love to see the QR code boss made more… dynamic? I dunno. An idea: each of the moving squares of pegs on the board corresponds to one of the parts of the boss. So when that boss dies, that corresponding peg-bunch will disappear. This not even allowing for morbid, or maybe it changes depending on the cruciball level. If it’s lower levels, it’s normal. Higher levels? Still has morbid possibility, idk. Last few? Nothing once the corresponding one dies
