I was going to say in the title "get even crazier" but it was too much to type and my hand was getting tired so i thought to make that title instead I will just make this title here and then say this in the pinned comment just so you know if you had wondered about that
Don't tell them that women have GENERALLY smaller brain than men because of women's body proportions being GENERALLY smaller than men (the amount of brain matter is pretty much the same for both genders because of the said proportions). Bet that would set some posts on fire
Seriously when will these dumbasses go touch some grass and realize that humans are humans like this got be sexist women are indeed weaker than men it is a biological fact
This was the most “first world problems” situation I’ve seen in a while, and that’s saying a lot considering the amount of stupid crap we’ve sifted through already
How is this a "first world problem" you're telling there's more world's than this one? Are you referring to planets? Those world's, I don't think anyone has any problems on other planets there's only life on earth and sadly the life on earth is getting stupider each day.
Always kills me how people will have complaints about a generalization, then only offer exceptions to the rule, as opposed to disproving the validity of the rule.
They only think in binary "true" vs "false". They don't understand that truth is a percentage. Something can be 99% true, and the 1% doesn't disprove the 99%. So no matter how many times they talk about the 1%, they will never disprove the 99%.
rules shouldn't have exceptions, they're RULES, if you say "male has big hands female has small hands" and then a woman with big hands tells you no, you can't just say "hmfff, well you're just an exception" if there are exceptions then the rule is obviously false
@@drunkenpeanut6582 no but this is exactly how studying anatomy for humans work in art. You work with the general rule at the beginning, then you bend away from the general anatomy you studied to get what you want. You have to know the rules (the anatomy) to bend the rules. And that is what these "tutorials" are about. They teach you the basic anatomy rules of an average realistic body (or stylised), and then it is up to you to draw it like it is or to bend the rules to what you need. It is not an official rule written in the law so don't treat it like it is, "rules" in art always have exceptions.
@@drunkenpeanut6582 So let me get this straight, if a human is born with a disability such as for example they have no legs, you are seriously telling me it is now no longer a rule that humans are born with legs?
@@carcerharlson9767 They act like biology should not apply to humans because, due to their alt-left, social-media-addicted arrogance, that connects us to nonhuman animals, and connecting us to nonhuman animals is "dehumanizing" according to them.
Nobody tell the "'genderlocking creates weird standards,' guy about character silhouettes and how important it is for them to stand out and be recognizable.
It’s also an odd statement in general, as in the majority of human art that include humans in them, in essentially every single major civilization like the Mesopotamians and even potentially earlier in places like Göbekli Tepe up until pretty much the present day, sex specific standards were either the majority or only versions depicted. It makes you wonder how long such things have to be in effect for them to not be considered weird.
They want everyone to be "equal" so them not wanting anything that will make any character stand out ever so slighglty is to be expected. And it's not a recent thing either. This cult has been around since before the written record. Variations of it were considered "ancient" by freaking Aristotle.
I remember at art school we were about to learn about anatomy and the teacher basically said “we’re not dealing with any gender nonsense, theres differences between men and women if you want to learn to draw androgynous bodies you first need to learn how to draw the two sexes first.”
It's funnier because OP put in (typical) fully knowing that just drawing references for male vs. female arms would draw the ire of some Twitter crazy and that still wasn't enough.
As an artist I had to study body types and anatomy for years, and people like that make me want to pull my hair out. They don't realize that sexual dimorphism is real, and yes there is variety but humans still follow certain anotomy rules regardless. Race, gender, and body types do follow certain anatomical standards and the fact these people are denying physical reality in order to be "inclusive" proves Pewdiepie's quote of "we're evolving, but backwards" very true.
I was called racist and banned for a server for saying black skin is better at dealing with sunlight than white skin, and a few other things to call me racist. Instead of telling me what I did that was racist like me saying "from what I was told and have seen from others, Japanese seemingly want your money, but don't like gaijin staying in their country" Or that "racism for whites exists too and some places blacks are the ones being the controlling supremest in some countries" They just ban me, and say everything horrible from LGBTQ to racism to ban me. Even though I would check with said owner if I could post it. Leftist have messed up priorities and won't even let you know why you were blocked or why what you said was factually and logically racist.
Ah... Okay, I'll be "that guy." Arguably it's a lot for "can't be" rather than "don't realize," because the dimorphism is still structurally required for the new assertion anyways, just obfuscating it to make it more exploitable. I try to posit a sort of inherentcy bias and an incapibility or unwillingness to comprehend referential terminology. Evidenced by what some people see as hypocrisy, some more rightfully notice as double standards; such that a certain term becomes inherently one possible definition and no others, but will regain it's other definitions if needs extorting. Or posit "demographic manufacturing," such that demographics are inherent and asserted rather then being an observation within a contextual scope. A educational and academic issue of the same measure where things are asserted by authority subjection and not the observation thereof within certain terms/scope/context. There are issues with "race" as a concept, with better specifics. And issues with using "gender" as a perfect synonym and not a polite referential one. And other specifics and oddities. However, in each of those what gets asserted doesn't oppose the premise, just the outcome, and always to the further harm of the purported issue or acknowledgment -- getting lost, subjugated, or denied entirely. An opinion I have, of the old academic with supposed "race" research, is not that the fear is that they will find the the "racist" notions are true, but rather that the differences are more related to those other more specific topics and therefore could eventually change or improve if peoples and communities make personal and cultural choices. To say it another way; I think the worry is not that finding the differences would validate the broad arbitrary race categories, but actually dissuade such a notion and imply more autonomy or at least cultural/social self-selection. Or don't want to find that the belief in "race" so arbitrary is foundationally itself racist. Arguably, other fraudulent studies likely share similar sentiment to avoid/fraud. Lots of linguistic games which relied heavily upon English being how it, or being linguistically neuter, to base such schemes or claim the opposite of a quality of the language that would otherwise appear appeasing. --- Beyond that, there's plenty you could mock them withing their own terms with things like this, by catching them out not using the asserted inherent meaning and using the contemporary meaning as the dialectic that the other person must inherently mean contradicting themselves upon the shared structural pillar. I'd normally be flattered by something like this, because I happen to have dainty "girly" hands and unlike most people I generally like that even though I don't consider myself nor would I be permitted to do so. I could just be a crazy person all the same; I should probably be tossed in with them, and it's overly personal to me, having weird interest in those things.... but frankly in my opinion it is vastly malicious and there was directing intent, because similar ideas that were better founded or less imposing or more acknowledging of scope, etc. were made taboo/verboten. There's things that could be done, but those things needing done if you did want changes are found is other places, behavior, other parts of society, such to then allow such a difference to be possible or solve/handle issues that are the reason for some things. And some of those are also tied to other cultural beliefs existing, so would be how you alter those (overtime, which is never good enough either) and not through force arbitrarily. Or even if people realized and acknowledged that appeasement is itself abuse; along with what some call "toxic positivity" and the false opposites in positivity/negativity, same with love/hate. So... again... it's not so much realization, as the most who aren't directing things don't have, have been kept from, or have been taught contrary understanding that prevents or disallows such; hence, "can not be."
I'm still confused by the twitter poster who talked about anatomical reality limiting creativity somehow. I'd say teaching people to be "gender neutral" stunts their expressive capacity and artistic skill by preventing them from observing reality.
as someone with b i g hands, I appreciate the "shout-out" from the artist. Though then again I am _not_ surprised that Twitter/Freaks can't understand basic human biology

Damn, you know its bad when people get mad at tips for general use because they are "too general". Like how good of a life do you need to have for this to be a complaint in your life?
These people need to understand that sometimes majority commonality isn't a bad thing. Men and women are built differently, nothing right or wrong with that. It just is.
I went through a phase where I couldn't draw men at all (except anime femboys) until I actually sat down and compared men and women's facial structure and observed that men typically have higher, more squared hairlines, wider jaws, thicker necks, etc. That's how I taught myself to draw men anyway. It doesn't mean all men have to look like that, but having a baseline definitely helped me draw better and be able to make variations from that baseline.
@@anniedong8751 Implying femboys aren't men? Also this implies every female you draw is an anime waifu. So you only draw stereotypical characters then?
I bet the person who draws all their characters without taking heed to any gender differences makes the most amazing characters ever and totally not completely repetitive and uncanny looking characters.
[Sex refers to “the different biological and physiological characteristics of males and females, such as reproductive organs, chromosomes, hormones, etc.” Gender refers to "the socially constructed characteristics of women and men - such as norms, roles and relationships of and between groups of women and men.] When bringing up sexual anatomy, two usually get mixed in because characteristics of one or both sex are usually tied to the "roles" they're socially constructed to in their respective genders. AH yes, we've reached the point where basic human biology offends people. The tutorial wasn't even saying "this is how ALL men and ALL women look so ALWAYS draw them like this." It was literally just a basic template. If you say, "well i'm not a skinny girl so this doesn't apply to me." Spoiler alert, there are different tutorials for different body types. There are tutorials on how to draw chubby people, muscular people, skinny people, ect ect. Not every tutorial is going to benefit you or teach you what you're trying to achieve, that's why there are so many vast art videos and classes that go over different subjects. You can't get mad at someone doing a tutorial painting of a background of a forest, and then say "OH so ALL backgrounds look forests, HUH?!?" Like, no dude... it's just one example, and if you don't need the information, don't use it.
I’m a dude with dainly hands yet i have no problem with it. These people just wanna look for a reason to get angry because their daily life barely have any real problem.
If any fruit can be considered an orange, then what does the word "orange" mean at this point? Discrimination isn't inherently bad, its okay to have different names for different things, its not being divisive, it's learning how to create distinction. For the sake of convention, we need to accept that we can only refer to certain citruses as an orange, and there's nothing wrong if a fruit is not an orange. Edit: warning, one of "them" is in the comments section. Prepare for high levels of mental gymnastics, cognitive dissonance and hard coping mechanisms to deny basic biology.
The issue is that you misunderstand what "orange" means and have only been calling Cara Cara Naval "oranges" and saying everything that isn't a Cara Cara is not an orange. Meanwhile the social class that is "man" and the social class that is "woman" have never been strictly tied to biology. The fact that somebody can "pass" proves that. If you could be fooled in such a way that numerous historical figures were only discovered to be of the sex not commonly associated with their gender after their death; then these social roles / classes clearly are not strictly tied to anatomy. So while you continue to define "orange" as "Cara Cara Naval Oranges" I will define "Orange" as any of the various citrus fruits in the family Rutaceae.
@@grimjoker5572 "Meanwhile the social class that is "man" and the social class that is "woman" have never been strictly tied to biology." How old are you?
@@grimjoker5572 If its not tied to biology then why do they need hormone replacements, cosmetic surgeries, wardrobe changes and many other adjustments that alter biological markers?
Twitter fails to comprehend how stylized art exaggerates features. What next, are they going to complain about how Tom and Jerry doesn’t properly represent the relationship between house cats and mice?
They quite literally said "Typical" at the top of the page. As in, these are the _typical_ body types, implying that exceptions can exist. They didn't just say "man's arm" and "woman's arm", and leave it at that. Seriously, some people will look for _any reason_ to get pissed off.
There has always been a male and female beauty ideal. The idea that all art must reflect reality is insane to me. Tell that to the Greeks. If you destroy the ideal, you destroy beauty all together.
Because these types of people typically have no life problems at all or no social life so they latch onto something and attack it so they can feel superior and intelligent when they’re actually just making fools of themselves.
Their ideology is about equality. Nobody is equal. Nobody has ever been equal. Nobody will ever be equal. The universe is not equal. Their ideology of equality is unnatural, it goes against the very principles of the universe itself. Which means that they think everything in the universe is "problematic" and "offensive".
bruh these tutorials are supposed to be for beginner artists or artists who struggling with drawing masculine men and feminine women back when i was struggling with same body and face syndrome, these kinds of tutorial helps esp since back then i struggled with drawing men without making them look feminine or androgynous
No one's telling you you can't diversify here. Your characters, your artstyle, your choices. This is just a basic starting point for anyone interested in doing art. Getting upset at this is like getting upset at someone saying "You drive on the right side of the road" just because it's not the case in some countries. This is the norm. Deal. Cope.
Just as a basic rule of thumb. When drawing since you don't have a 3d model, and it's all based on your knowledge, things like these are very important. For example anime, uses eye size and minor tidbits like these so that even if the character looks the same, you can tell which one is male and which one female. Sure nowadays we can't talk about men and women without making an idiot go crazy, but trust me, when visualising something you don't think about political correctness in the presketch (well unless you are mentally unstable like all those people on twitter, then again most people that care about such crap cannot draw as they have no talents hence why they are on twitter)
I think it is easy to take photos of man and woman arms, put it side by side, and ask if someone even got confused between them... Bcse if they don't, it automatically means IT IS DIFFERENT, stereotypes exist for a reason, and being one don't necessarily invalidate the point.
As someone who is trying to get anatomy right in my art style I can say both males and females are different structure wise and I’m having a hard time getting it right because I’m used to only drawing tactical fighters or just dudes in general.
Yeah, male bodies are made up of sharper and wider angles while female bodies are more rounded. I’m better at drawing rounded shapes so it took me a lot of practice to make straighter lines that looked proportionate instead of a bunch of weird rectangles.
Well, if you’re into/cool with that sort of work, you could probably make a lot of money making Tom of Finland type art. There’s always a market for porn, regardless of the economy it seems.

Obviously some men are going to have daintier arms and some women will have more muscled arms depending on what they do, this is just representing the default "average" style for drawing lmao how is this controversial in any way
The only thing that ticks me off in the OG image is “wrist bone”. Like men don’t have ‘em. Other than that, it’s a demonstration of the _typical_ (keyword being TYPICAL) gender differences. I’m not saying that women can’t have muscular arms (see my mom) or that men can’t have more slender arms, and I’m pretty sure that’s what the OG artist is saying by saying “T Y P I C A L”!
For most biological men, the wrist bone is not very pronounced. For most biological women, the wrist bone is a bit pronounced. It isn't about 'if they have them' but more of 'how visible are they'. They point out the wrist bone on women because if you look at a typical biological woman's arm, the wrist will have visible flexibility while the elbow blends in a bit. Meanwhile, if you look at a typical biological male's arm, the elbow will generally look bent to some degree, and his wrist will just sort of blend in with his arm and hand. It's like drawing a car and a truck... they both have wheels, but they typical look different. (There can be exceptions, like a tiny pickup having car sized wheels, or a lifted car having off-roading tires installed.) Out now : Car-Gender Studies. Some cars don't think they are cars, and some trucks don't think they are trucks... so we must now stop distinguishing between them. Need to transport a ride on lawnmower? Well, using a pickup truck for that is discrimination against cars that identify as trucks... so you MUST find a car identifying as a truck and strap the ride on lawnmower to the roof to transport it. Someone asks you to draw a car for them? Instead, draw them a truck that identifies as a car. Because inclusivity of the exceptions matters more than doing the job properly.
Twitter users are sad. It’s ok to accept that men and women are two completely different things that may occasionally differ from the majority of other men and women lol.
I’m so glad I stayed silent on this earlier this morning😂 I was about to go off on the people complaining about this because I thought they had bad takes
When some Twitter people never took an anatomy class, throwing words at what's a Strawman... There's a reason everyone in the world can appear physically similar or different, don't act like you just opened Pandora's box on that fact, twitter/X peeps.
I find it extremely funny when people use exceptions to the rule as if they were the norm.. and get mad at people for using the real common thing Like.. most men have bigger muscles and bones that women.. does that mean all 100% women do? No.. there are exceptions
And even then, these differences in hand sizes don't really do much. Big hands are stronger grabs, but small hands are more dexterous. If I had the opportunity to make men and women equal, even in terms of biology, this would be the one thing I wouldn't change.
I'm an artist with figure drawing training. I learnt how to draw these small distinctions between male and female anatomy long ago. In some commissions I got, the client wants a femboy, but with a female body structure. When I told them about the distinctions, they mostly didn't like it. I know it's just a drawing but sometimes people doesn't have that grasp in reality that bodies..... don't do that naturally.
I mean, that's "modern men" for you. They want to become females but still want to have a semblance of male somewhere. Kinda the same dunk I did on the "T-Series" ( You know who I'm referring to ) type of people
Yeah, I'm not even an artist and it still bugs me when people want femboys that are actually just dick-girls. Like, no, they should be male with a somewhat androgynous build, but use clothing design to hide or accentuate different features. A boy's ass is not supposed to be bigger than his whole torso.
I mean the art wasn’t anything to get mad over but some people are right abt that, I’m male, 5’2” and skinny as hell. Idk about the art but ppl need to understand there is no “default” when it comes to anatomy-no one is exactly the same.
There is a default - it’s called statistical average or what we call normal. You’re the exception, not the rule. If you focus only on the exceptions and tiny details, you will miss the big picture and never come to any progress. It’s like trying to solve a puzzle without an idea of the big picture of what it’s suppose to be
the majority of average males do look like that so it is default that males have bigger limbs and hands when compare to females i bet your arms and hands are bigger then the females who are the same hight as you so on average all males regardless of hight have bigger limbs and hands then females regards of their hight biology is real all men are on average are larger then females go to any asian country their men are short and has smaller arms and hands compare to European men and african men but they are still larger then the asian womens hands on average by biological default
I’d also like to point out that sometimes ethnic origins have a role. For example, a white man’s structure might be far more skinny compared to a Polynesian or even intraracial groups such as Italians vs Irish people
Men, on average are taller than the average woman. Just because you arent, doesnt mean that men being taller isnt a default. There is an exception to every rule, and outliers to every statistic, but doesnt mean human sexual dimorphism doesnt exist.
@@Devin7Eleven the “man arm” in the drawing is muscular and defined, or intended to look like that. You forget that lifestyle impacts anatomy-if you work out every day, you’ll become muscular. If you starve yourself, you’ll be thin and fragile. If you overeat, you’ll be overweight. There are no “exceptions” in human anatomy. you’re thinking too deep about it. I could go on about the differences in races, too. You know how scientists can tell the race of someone by their skull. I am not an “exception”, thank you. I am perfectly healthy and human just like you.
