After trying countless ways to increase the Footstep audio in Warzone 2, I accidently discovered a setting that instantly made them louder. In this video I show you all the settings I've changed to help with Footstep Audio. I also have a bonus tip at the end if all else fails. I show settings for both PC & Console.

That's awesome, I have applied all the setting except low frequency thing it's not available at my pc, the footsteps now are much louder and clear, thanks bro

When I realized there was a another settings file, the second one didn't match up to the first, all the settings were still at default and I had to manually change them to match. Make sure your checking both files once in a while if you have both "COD22" & "CODHQ". Make sure the settings are the same in both files, for both the sound setting and the Memory setting, if your using that for increased responsiveness. Link to that video is in the description. I'll have Video about a trick for controlling recoil soon, its something I've never seen anyone else mention before. I also have a few others planned that should help with this game, make sure you're subscribed so you get the notification!!

Changing the ingame mix, changes the value in the HQ file but not the OG file. So far "1" for headphones has been the clearest

loudness equalization really made them loud but if there's gunshots or anything else you cant hear the footsteps, gunshots are really quiet

You can track each value from the game in the settings file. If you select "PC" mixing in the game, then the AudioMix value in the file will be 0. If you select "Headphones", it will be 1. Home Theater is 4. Just change the value in the game and then minimize the game and see what value is written in the file. Apparently you just chose the "headphones" mixing)

The thing I don't understand with it is there's on 6 options in the game settings and there's 10 options in the game files. What I think is happening on why the audio glitches out is it gets stuck in stereo mode and when I change the value in the options folder it fixes it and switches to windows default. For some strange reason when I switch it in the file, the footsteps and the directional audio become much more noticeable.

Mono and amount 100 is what works for me. Download sound lock and set it to 40-45% now turn ingame sound to max.

Ya I was using sound lock in Caldera I liked it but the only thing I found was if there were a lot of loud noises going on while an enemy was running near me I wouldn't hear them because sound lock lowers the total volume at certain threshold. Its definitely nice for those obnoxious sounds though. I actually forgot about sound lock I'll have to try it again in this game.

Ya because it lowers those obnoxious gun shots and air strikes so they're not as ear piercing but at the same time keeping the footstep audio at the normal level. Some people like the PC preset but for me I prefer home theater. I guess it just depends on your setup, its gonna be a little different for everyone.

I've been using the "Natural Bass" preset, it seems to make the footstep audio clearest for me. One of these days i'm going to experiment with some custom settings.

The cod22 file is Read Only for me and it will not save to the new value. The HQ file saved fine. Can anyone help with that?

Did you use notepad to open both? Codhq is the newest file so it might be that for you only HQ matters. For some reason now every time I start the game I have to manually change the value back to 1 in cod22.

No if you have that option you can use it but everything I've seen on those higher values when I was researching sound quality for videos and streaming have said that human hearing can't perceive the difference above 48000.

No one’s stopping you from playing on PC brodi. Either save up some money and buy one or accept the disadvantages of console 🤷🏽‍♂️

Console doesn't have near as bad audio issues. That's why they specified pc audio issues in the patch notes. Console is honestly probably still superior.

@@MrDutch1e It’s not now that Loudness Equalization on PC is more widely known. Everyone on PC is using it and it’s insanely overpowered on MW2.

@HAZYGOTEM loudness equalization was nerfed on PC with the last update. Literally everyone has stopped using it on PC.
