I heard a secret that Nasa uses rhodenium window screen for the jet engines. Luckily my grandpa had some buried in the backyard septic tank. Tested a piece of it on my weekender and the head spun so fast it launched into the atmosphere and hit a satellite so the president called me and asked me not to use it unless an emergency. So yeah, I'm kind of a big deal!

Back in 1987 the mitchel salesman came an an offered my boss their service. Yes this is all you will ever need. I'll come in and haul all these old manuals away for you giving you so much more room. I pointed out there was not a car in the shop newer than 1982. Mitchel started at 83. I mentioned what happens if your late. Oh it cut off until you pay . I looked at my boss and said. Books dont need money to read them each month The boss bought a full set of manuals. But now in 2020 he has online info. But the cars older than 83 still fill the bays and the manuals still exist on the shelves.

wouldnt it be wise to scan all the books and load them into their own archives on a computer? still have all the access and free up all the space?

@@rud2k881 in order to scan books.. you have to cut the pages from the bindings.. ruining the books.. i ask mitchell. if they were going to scan all their manuals.. what manuals.. when we went digital.. we threw all the old ones out in a dumpster and had them hauled away. they did not keep one copy .. i have over 200 office file boxes of manuals. that would take me forever..

My father has a Lincoln town car with rear air bags, always have had trouble with them and finally collapsed. We put coil over shocks on it and solved the problem.

There's usually a way to find the info for free. It takes longer to find and it's not easy. But if you only work on different vehicles on occasion it's better than a subscription. It's good to check forums and Google. I have been able to find 90% of what I was looking for without paying. But if I had a shop and worked on a lot of different vehicles, the subscription would be worth it

Not all the Expeditions have the airbags, ours does not. We shopped for one that did not have them. The Lincoln Navigator also had airbags on some models.

Euro version not available for single vehicles.All data definitely shines, big time. Autel is pretty detailed for the price.

Hi Mate, Great video full of info, Thanks. however why don't you get a jump start pack or if you are cheap like me, make one out of an old trolley two batteries and some old jump cables. You could make it in the time it took to wait for the battery to charge. You may even get to use the Everlast, or at least have something for another video.. Cheers Chris

My shop has something called IdentiFix. It has several different kinds of wiring diagrams(Both black and white and in color) it’s so much cheaper than AllData but is much less user friendly. It requires more of a learning curve than AllData. Edit: It also has labor times, average part cost, part locations, vehicle specifications, etc... it has most of what AllData has but at a lower cost.

Neither that program or the two discussed in this video are near dealership level information but Identifix is the BEST for any shop trying to fix multiple vehicles on a budget. We have GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, and Nissan service subscriptions and factory scan tools for these listed models so I can make this statement with confidence. I've worked in lower budget shops and have used Alldata and Mitchell. The only time you really need the additional dealership level information is for electrical. I don't know how Alldata and Mitchell can get wiring colors and pinouts mixed up so bad but they deserve an award for it. Identifix will lead you right to the culprit more times than the other two programs gets their schematics right. Gotta love the community based suggestions on their program! Also, I had all the GM certifications from being factory trained and having worked in their dealerships for well over a decade. Just got tired of the dealership life and found a wonderful company to work for.

FORD started this air bag system on Lincolns and it worked OK but in 92 they put on the big fords. THEY DID NOT WORK CORRECTLY..

I wish someone would start making vehicles with mid 60s technology. No servos, potentiometers, computers , self parking, side sensors, back up cameras, electric door locks , seats etc. Put leather interior and nice finish. They would be at least 30% cheaper. I bet they would sell like hot cakes. Things have gotten pure ridiculous. They couldn’t use heavier coil/ leaf springs in this truck- they had to do this silly pneumatic system? Too much technology and maybe it just isn’t worth it!

The computers in cars are a lot better to have than old systems in cars , and as for AIR BAGS they are actually able to handle much more weight or load in the vehicle than leaf springs ! Airbags are not just for a look they do have a function

I replace those air springs with traditional strutts and no codes no warnings or lights set on the dash and nothing special needs to be done, and your customer will love the ride comfort its literally no different accept the price of maintenance and the parts are so much cheaper once one bag goes the air system will domino into oblivion

All data is fucking junk. And the one way to know that is to know autozone owns it. We have all data at my work and 30-40% of the time it gives you no information, absolute trash. Identifix has way better wiring diagrams and service info.. You can highlight each individual wire and many other functions. All data is the absolute worst!
