I love the way Muichiro is so blatant about how much he likes Tanjiro. His face and eyes literally brighten when he sees him. Especially in comparison to how he speaks to everyone else. We love to see it.

I just watched the episode and it literally stopped me in my tracks I rewinded it 5 times his smile was so precious and his voice as well when he was so happy to see Tanjiro. I don’t like seeing him sad 😢 So freaking cute I couldn’t get over his happiness when seeing Tanjiro ❤❤❤☺️

Muichiro is like that one introvert friend who always has a scowl on his face but brightens up whenever his one best friend is around. Also makes sense that Tanjiro being from a small town up in mountains doesn't know what Pancakes or Butter is.

Muzan did disband the lower ranks I believe at the end of season one after Rui was killed by Giyu in the forest. He killed them himself in the infinity castle as he was pissed for having to constantly replace them after defeats whereas he had not replaced any upper ranks in over a hundred years. The only one he spared was Enmu (Mugen Train demon). Once that one died that was the end of the lower ranks.

Tokito paper airplane hobby and Mitsuri bee stuff are official data but they were not in the manga, it was in the official data books, Im glad they r putting it into the anime, it shows us way more than it did on the manga

19:02 the numbers look different because the "Twelve Kizuki" (Uppers and Lowers) have the "daiji" numerals (大字). they're basically alternative characters for numbers that are used in financial and legal documents to prevent unscrupulous alterations (adding strokes to a character could change them into higher numbers). so, instead of "一" for one we have "壱", instead of "四" for four we have "肆" and so on. the Upper Moons have the character for "Upper Moon" ("上弦", lit.first quarter moon) and their respective numbers in their eyes. the use of "daiji" numerals in this context is just for emphasis, the author likes "old" kanji a lot. also, you can say Sanemi when talking about the Wind Hashira xd Shinazugawa could be tricky. your reaction to Muichirō's smile was too cute

A note on Chinese/Japanese numbers: Chris is correct that the usual kanji for 4 looks basically like a little box. However, the number kanji shown on the eyes of the demons in this show are the more complex versions. I don't know when they were developed, but the complex kanji numerals are designed to be difficult to alter to look like other/higher numerals. The simpler numerals are easy to change -- for example, an ordinary 1 (一) can be altered to look like a 3 (三); a 3 can be changed into a 5 (五). The more complicated kanji can be used to discourage different kinds of fraud. And it's no surprise that Tanjiro is confused by the mention of butter & pancakes. They likely weren't introduced to Japan until early in the 20th century, and having lived in the sticks most of his life, Tanjiro just hasn't encountered them before arriving at Mitsuri's place.

The numbers on the eyeballs are written formally in Daiji Kanji, as opposed to the simple numbers in Shoji Kanji. They mean pretty much the same thing, except with importance. 1 一壱 ichi 2 二弐 ni And so on.

This episode was wholesome, because most of the Demon Slayers are kids/teens, and sometimes you forget because their job is to literally kill demons; And it's pretty stressful. A whole episode dedicated to Tanjiro (who's 15), Muichiro (14), and all the other Demon Slayers just having fun and being kids is so amazing. And I'm saying this as a 16 year old.

I think I know why japan loves Tokito and Tanjiro so much. Look at the way Tokito's face brightens up seeing Tanjiro , he has more energy. It s almost like Tokito has a crush on Tanjiro. So making Tokito X Tanjiro BL makes sense, and its pride month as well. Tanjiro help save Tokito and Tokito helped save everyone with sword smith village and killed upper moon #5 as well.

I've been seeing a lot of reactors harp on the design but as a kid who was really into paper airplanes, it's a completely valid design to make the front heavier so it flies straight and goes faster. Most dart type airplanes have you fold the front at least twice to make it thicker

It’s easy to laugh at the regular members but up until this mandate the hashira only took on maybe one member at a time. Tanjiro and zenitsu were trained by former hashira, inosuke and kanao are just generational talents and genya is built different. It’s why so many are stuck with Uzui because the general corps member goes on maybe 2-3 hunts before getting killed or retiring

For all those who are confused about this "filler" season, the manga was sped up for the creator's personal reasons, meaning a lot of things were overlooked or not explored at all. This arc does not contain any relationship between the various pillars or especially with the recruits, ufotable is adding canonical "fillers" with the story. All of this content is creator-viewed content so it's extras that were supposed to be in the manga but unfortunately we didn't get it. We have ufotable to thank for these essential extras for us readers of the manga

A lot of them might not have even necessarily faced tragedy on that scale, but they just found out that demon's existed and decided to fight them. It's actually pretty honorable on their parts. Like even Mitsuri didn't have anything tragic happen to her, but she chose to become a Hashira anyways because she's built different.

IMO, Muichiro's fillers content were weak. The episode didn't felt strong like tengen's episode. Episode 3 was focused on tengen and his life and personality after retirement, which was perfectly shown. But but but Episode 4, Muichiro 's episode wasn't focused on Muichiro at all. It was focused on Muichiro and tanjiro's interaction and relationship development rather than solely on Muichiro. I hate when things only revolve around Tanjirou, ik he's the MC but tanjiro's effect is annoying and irritating sometimes. As he's the only kind person in the whole demon slayer world. That's why I don't like Tanjirou, I only watch demon slayer for hashiras. I prefer Hashira friendship with other Hashiras rather than only with Tanjirou. That's why I love Obanai and sanemi's friendship.

"the only kind person in the whole demon slayer world" what about Mitsuri, Kagaya, Amane, Kanao, all of Tanjirō's family, Zenitsu's trainer, almost all of the families of the Demon Slayers... the point why there are so many "unkind" ppl in the Demon Slayer world is because their lives have been affected by demons. it shows how easily is to "become a demon" even when having the best intentions. i agree that this ep is not that strong compared to the previous one, but idk why Tanjirō bothers you xd like, he's the moral compass of the series, of course he's kind.

Since the anime is stretching some of these trainings out to give them some breathing room (I believe Tokito's training was like 2 episodes), I can't wait to see what they'll do with the longer parts. Let's just say the Hashira we haven't met yet go just as hard, if not harder. I mean there's the strongest hashira who we haven't even seen anything of yet.
