Gum disease is a parasitic infection. The parasites get into your gums and destroy the bone overtime. Sometimes it takes decades other times in only a few years you could suffer massive bone loss. Gum disease is the #1 cause of tooth loss!
@@josephrnemeth Although bacteria are strictly speaking parasites, normally they are classified separately as parasites have a defined nucleus and are usually larger.
Hi Dr Nemeth, Thank you for sharing this video. I have gum disease and I am really concerned about losing the teeth I have remaining. I would like to speak to you to find out if you can help as I would need to make the journey from London. I look forward to your reply, thank you.
I know this guy talks about it like this client took off and just decided not to do it and going to lose more bone but the fact of the matter is I will bet that the price of doing this procedure was prohibitively expensive and he was generally screwed, so this stance that that this guy was a fool for continuing treatment I think it’s not only unfair but really very unrealistic
@@buckie48192 fast recovery. Like a few days but that depends on the individual. I paid about 70USD for two back teeth that too is subjective because it’s not covered by insurance yet . Mine didnt cover it . I would do anything to save my teeth. Price is not an option.
I am 64 and I have 3 implants an one in progress to make it 4..my teeth are brittle and easily breaks, thats my problem..thank you doc your messages means a lot to me, it helps me care for my teeth tenderly.
Omg!! That's scary and I need to go to the dentist but can't afford dental insurance. Imma go as soon as I get some money saved up. I have a cavity that needs to be looked at asap.
Look up Dr. Tent on RU-vid he swears Standard Process has a whole food supplement that's helps to grow bone! Unfortunately I can't remember what lecture it is but I believe 1 of the the supplements is called Bio-dent?
@@someperson121yeah tbh I was surprised he even had any bone left after 9 years of literally chronic infection every single second of every single day, like that’s insane when you actually think about nearly 10 decades of a parasitic infection practically eating away the bone in your mouth. Awful disease I wish I was more aware of it and I cared more to brush and floss when I was younger to not have to deal with it.
ive been on my brother for years and years to get into the dentist his mouth is an absolute mess. Hes gonna get to the point when his 4 kids are in middle school and are embarrassed about there dads mouth.
Hello Dr. Nemeth! A new dentist just told me it is too late to save my 3 teeth due to bone loss. She does not want to try to save it. She wants to extract them and do implants. I don't want to lose them. Can I make an appointment to see you? Thank you.
Dr Nemeth, I enjoy ur educational videos. I have a situation in which my lower frenum was wider & higher than that of most people & tugged down the gingiva of my 2 lower central incisors. The root appearance is not drastic @ this point, but within 2 months, 1 of the teeth shows a round area of root resorption on x-ray & a small pinhole at gumline. Presently I have no pain or even sensitivity in the area. My oral hygiene is excellent. Will u please opine on what direction to go next? (I'm a young 72 & on hormone patches w/ 0 osteo issues on Dexa-scan.). Thank u.
Experience has caused me to suspect a very strong link between root canals and perio. I am 69. In my particular case I seldom seem to get pockets larger than 4 mm deep unless there is a root canal in the area. Problems with bone loss just don't happen unless there is a root canal tooth in the area.
When making implants for patients which lost most of alveolar bone substance, it is a common procedure to rebuild jaw bone with the well known "bone concrete" of PFR technique. There are some few documentations of PFR-bone-cement application around living teeth. So in this case, would an PFR-bone-cement operation to be imaginable ? It may be, that bone concrete cannot generate a fiber holding apparatus between bone an root. But when you claim that Lanac treatment of periodontitis can induce up crowing bone, which realize a new reconstructed alveolar pocket. Why this cannot be done with PFR-bone-concrete as standard procedure for healing recessions and such cases, which you showed in this video ?
@@buckie48192 My main purpose is to understand, which (biological) obstacle hampers the recreation of alveolar bone around living teeth. Sometimes such surgery is shown. But no investigation afterwards over month and years is documented. Would be very interesting to find more about this theme.
Dr. Nemeth, this may sound exaggerated but I've been needing a top side molar (6th tooth from top front tooth to the left) extracted for a few years now although Ive been to the dentist this particular tooth needs to be surgically extracted and finding someone who even takes my insurance (medicaid) is difficult but I can feel that the gum and tissue around it is swollen and I'm having nonstop headaches and sometimes sharp chest pains, also pressure on that side of my head. I suffer from headaches and migraines but this is different and I really believe I have an infection that has traveled in my body including my brain possibly. I get sick and can't put on weight although I eat fine. I'm 39 and I'm really stressed about leaving my family behind and something is wrong but I read that people are often misdiagnosed and not given the right antibiotics that can penetrate the brain to cure that infection. Im terrified that because I have medicaid that I may not get the care I believe I'am seriously in need of. Is it possible another dentist can consult with you? I'm in florida. Please tell me what to do. I don't want to die.
@@buckie48192 It's ok. Perhaps they're just really busy or just didn't see it. I'm actually looking for an oral surgeon and general dentist today.. I hope I get someone attentive..Wish me luck! 😊
@@nancyk5203 Hi Nancy! I'm well thank you so much for asking! 🥰 I just reread my 1st post.. How dramatic..lol I really thought I was going to die though.. but I'm still here☺😇
the thing about bone graft is that it is more difficult to grow bone between the bone compared to the front and back of the teeth due to lack of tissue to put it behind and stitch it.
What could have been done nine years ago in this case? in the case of bone loss horizontally, as far as I know, bone is not grafted in such a case, could the inflammatory process possibly have been treated? Is a bone graft possible in the patient's case nine years ago?
Can I ask you a personal question via email about my case? In this case, I don't live in the USA. In my case, I went for opinions in the country I'm from, but as I read, there is no option for a bone graft, since they did not offer me such a treatment. In view of my age, I'm downright numb if treatment with implants is not possible for me afterwards.
Dr nementh, I have 6 teeth that needs to be fixed and they need to be re filled… I have a crown with a cavity underneath a crown… and a erupted wisdom tooth that needs to be removed. I have autism and I’m sensitive to a lot of things including drills I’m afraid sometimes to go to the dentist? What should I do to help me prepare for this procedure and how can you distract yourself from becoming overwhelmed at the dentist
After LANAP is done, when should patient start seeing the regular hygienist for cleaning? It should be back to that routine before seeing any possible bone re-growth two years later right?
I am a severe periondontal disease patient. Its has been a yr now and I am ongoing treatment. My doctor said if my condition gets better I would be able to wear braces. My question is how do we know our condition is getting better?
One method that dentists use is measuring periodontal pockets. Pockets of only 2 or 3 mm depth are generally not of concern. Deeper pockets are often of concern. X-rays are often used to see if bone is being damaged or lost. When teeth come loose it often means that the bone supporting the teeth has been damaged. If you can get a periodontal pocket depth chart from your dentist it will give you a pretty good idea of where your major problems are. The phase contrast microscope and DNA tests for specific pathogens are some other methods that dentists can use to see where you are at.
I waited 14 years had all my top teeth pulled yesterday for anyone watching this video I can promise you……you never want to feel what I did just go to the dentist if your questioning going stop the thought get off this video and make the call!!! You don’t even have to thank me just do it for your sake!!
I really need your help it's happen to me when I did implant but the doctor who did the implant he really doesn't care about happen he just took the money from me and nothing did to fix the issue to my gums, tooth and bone. I really don't know what to do now. It's like I will loose all my teeth. Please help me doc. I begging you please, please, please
Yea that’s all good and fine but the services you provide are prohibitively expensive for most people. Very twisted that these medically necessary procedures are out of reach for most people and then it’s talked about as if they just didn’t take it seriously enough. Pretty sick.
Yes/no, if your pockets are 9 - 11s then it can be considered advanced periodontist, meaning that it can, but if your teeth are already really loose then it might not be a suitable option.
Hello, it's happening to me , but no dentist help me , I am French and living in the Iland of Malta , do you know how can help me like you in France , do you have contact to give me , i am going bad and loosing my bones a lot and later my teeth . Thank you .
