After growing up in the 80s with the Bad Boys and being a die hard fan ever since...last year was the only year I ever checked out. really appreciate the incite. i DO love videos like this. these little numbers say so much! those of us who watched last season had those numbers punched in our face on a nightly basis. it’s good to see solid evidence of potential.

Fontecchio plays decent D. 100% he should be the starter at the 3.

Yeah, imagine the spacing with Cade, Ivey, Fontecchio, Harris, Stewart - all of who can shoot the 3 at least decently. Gonna be real interesting! And great reminder that later in the season, our starting 5 was out-playing the other team's starting-5 (and that it was our weak bench that would give up our leads). Forgot about that, great video!

You are missing something. That group of 4 either had Thompson, or Stewart added to it, when they had positive plus - minus.. In other words, they had a power forward in the unit. Since we pretty much never used any other power forwards, other than Stewart and Thompson, the rest of the time they played with no power forward. Perhaps a guy like Rhoden was at power forward, or just as bad, Fontecchio was pretending to be a power forward. Here is a unit available this year: Cade, Ivey, Fontecchio, Reed, Duren. I think you will be writing home about this unit. Reed is a pretty awesome player, a perfectly sized, quick, athletic power forward with tons of offensive skill. The starting unit I've been mentioning most has Harris instead of Fontecchio, due simply to how much we are paying Harris. But, be careful, its all about who is playing power forward - if you go Cade, Ivey, Fontecchio, Harris, Duren, that puts Harris at power forward, and that unit will totally fail defensively.

I'm super high on that lineup with Harris, man. I think that people are sleeping on them for EXACTLY the reasons you covered. I've said it in the comments before, but the spacing is so crucial for Cade's success. He's never going to reach his potential when the court is a quarter of the size for him compared to teams with proper spacing. Harris and Tecc provide that spacing - they can also capitalize off the shot fake and put the ball on the floor to a respectable degree, especially Harris. Then you have duren in the dunkers spot, and ivey either playmaking, cutting, or (hopefully with greater success this season) spotting up for an open shot. The ability to penetrate and draw help defenders, and then the ability to capitalize on the opportunities that presents is what this lineup offers. Also, and I'm not correcting you or anything, just trying to make it easier on you in future videos - you can just say "plus minus" instead of saying the "slash" in the middle. We know wym. 😊

Literally all of the lineup data from last season is completely irrelevant, because literally zero lineups played enough minutes together to comprise a relevant sample.
