Everytime I go out fishing I am more and more thankful I follow this channel. Summer fishing can be known to not be very exciting from the bank in NETX but thanks to the knowledge I’ve gained from this channel, every time I go out I’m catching several fish all day!
Ive barely fished since a kid. Just getting into bass fishing. There is such a plethora of lures, bait, equipment, it can be overwhelming trying to learn what's best. I appreciate your straight forward, well presented videos. Im glad i came across your channel! I just wish we had bass here like Texas seems to have!!!
Got the Bass Forecast app installed and made the smart decision to pay for the year. I've already spent my tackle warehouse gift card. I can't wait to put the app to the test. Thanks for the tip and great video as always!
I’ve had bull frogs eat my frog so many times. Must be a territorial thing I guess. Cracks me up when it happens bc the big bull frog is furious another little frog is in his turf. It eats it w authority 😂😂😂. Great way to get a pond full of stunted bass. I took out 30 bass in my pond last year to get the bigs bigger. Been hard 2 years but the bass I catch are much bigger and super healthy! Now I’m pulling out the extra bluegill this year. I’m a bluegill catching junkie now. Appreciate ya T!
I really appreciate 100 ponds. Helps me greatly with our area lakes and neighborhood ponds. Understand that you're ready to go in another direction. Any hints? More interviews/fishing with pros or other bass content creators? Celebrity fishing?
If I gave you the impression I am going in a different direction, I'm sorry! Ain't nothing changing, just the same videos I've always done but even better!
No way that’s my neighborhood! Too bad I didn’t get to end up running into ya, maybe one day. The water levels have been down for the past month cause they’ve been doing something to get the fountain back up and running but finally did the other day and that’s made the water rise significantly.
Coming from someone who just got back into fishing, this series will seriously help me cause I don’t own a boat and mainly fish ponds or banks of rivers
@@TylersReelFishing thank you for making these videos, so many videos out there on how to fish from boats, but rarely see anything about ponds or bank fishing
The Fluke is my confidence bait. If I cant find them shallow or on top water with a salty fluke I'll go deep with a caffeine shad. Helps you narrow down the bite for the day.
I've totally caught a bullfrog on a topwater frog too lol I watched it eye it jump off shore and swim in pursuit. Also had the pond I go to that's usually my hotspot for bass drop like 3 feet 🙃 the underwater vegetation is just sticking out in some spots and spaces bluegill and bass were hanging out near shore are just gone. As long as it doesn't have a leak again and go dry it should be fine just want that level to go back up. It's about 20ft at deepest
You should try your dropshot rig using a ned-rig to replace your traditional dropshot sinker. I've done this with excellent success, and Occasionally I'll even use a small finesse jig as my sinker for dropshotting. It seems to double my chances of getting bit because it presents my baits at two different levels of the water column.
Been enjoying the content lately as a new sub... question that app you're showing us is, that for year round or species? And does it help bank fishers as well?
Just skunked at a bank fishing tournament today and I don't know why I didn't commit to the fluke. Can I get away with a 6'8 medium? I was tossing it on a 7'3 MH Lew's signature but it felt awkward with the fluke
i have the best soft plastic lures in the world , got my first box for my 10th or 11th birthday in 1988 and about 10 years ago i bought every box i could find in australia.if you can find them they are called flying lures and no jokes they swim away from you. in the hills you drop it at your feet and then and you can get it to swim all over the place and they kinda look a bit like baby sqid
Great video! Queation relating to Keitech swimbaits/rage swimmers. what is a good average size for bass 1 pound or bigger but has the ablity to catch 3+ pounders. Im thinking 3.8 (keitech) or 3.75 (rage swimmer). Is that a good size or should i upsize to like a 4.3/4.25, or downsize to a 3.25/3.3. thanks for the help keep up the videos.
Hey Tyler! I'm just now starting to get into Bass fishing and learning alot from your channel, so I thank you for that. but I have a question I'm hoping you could answer for me. I have a Shimano Slx Dc reel on a 7ft MH-Moderate Carbonlite Johnny Morris rod. I use this as my main fishing pole for lakes, rivers, and ponds(kind of a 1 pole for everything) I'm re-lining it first time. For OVERALL use in most or all situations, what would you recommend? Mono, Braid, or Fluoro? I know in your videos each has their own use. But which would be the best overall if I don't own multiple poles. thank you again for what you do and I hope to hear from you soon!
Braid is probably your best bet. Line choice is super important depending on your technique (EX: While you may use a braid to fluoro leader for jig fishing you’d want to switch to a heavier lb/test of straight braid when fishing a top water frog in heavy cover. ) But Braid is generally the most versatile (in my personal opinion) I’d recommend watching a few of TRFs technique masterclasses he has uploaded to further expand your knowledge AND teach you when and where to use which type of line and how they are different.
@vx4387 awesome advice! Thanks so much for the help. I'm looking to get better everyday and people like yourself and Tyler definitely help us slow learners! Can't thank you enough and can't wait to learn more!
If you still have some ponds to fish, come over to Lake Lydia. 100 acres, technically a pond, but we call it a lake. LMB biggins. Hit me up if interested.
After weeks of struggling to get the bite at the ponds I fish I said screw it and put on a square bill. First cast ought into the fountain in the pond and on my first quick pop of the reel 6 pounder jumped out of the water about a foot with my lure 😂
I so agree with not lingering too long in one spot - fish aren't biting after a few throws - MOVE! It's like that old maxim: Why keep relentlessly repeating using the same unproductive tactics and expecting different results?
you could put a piece of wood on a hook and tell me it's the best bait for bass and I'd go buy the same piece of wood and try it out, ur so inspirational
