Calling their product a "cult favorite" when it's just come out is like those movies that call themselves an "instant classic". You don't just get to declare that yourself! The people decide!!
@doctorwholover1012

The audacity of these people to try to pre-emptively declare their product's vibes! You put your product into society and wait for it to pass or fail the vibe check!!
@DeadSpatula
@DeadSpatula 2 года назад
the use of instant classic in marketing are not normally made by the movie maker or production company. They normally quote critics who have published those claims. Repo the genetic opera got called “the next rocky horror” and and “an instant cult classic”. people who then disliked the film insulted the marketing for using those quotes. Yeah, calling a new product a ‘cult classic’ is dumb, and if producers call a film an instant classic it’s dumb. but most movies cover themselves by using critic quotes and that practice is much less self indulgent, in my opinion.

The marketing of this company is evil, but genius. They make a cheap product and sell it at a huge mark-up, pretending they've made a new product when it's just a mediocre version of something that's existed forever. They tell people that don't have a ton of experience with cooking that their product is multipurpose, while "forgetting" to mention that every pot you can buy is multipurpose. Seriously, $180? My entire 11 piece cookware set cost 140, and the nonstick pot I got with it is comparable, if not better than this thing.

Random helpful thing that might work: don't talk to him or at him (especially loudly) when he barks. He's just gonna think it's a barking party and you're joining in. Ignoring it and turning your back helps a lot, but you have to be consistent- dogs need that. Don’t spend this much money on a nonstick pot. If you want a big, multipurpose pot you will have forever, get a nice cast iron pot. You will spend the same money and have it for much longer than a Teflon pot, because all nonstick cookware breaks after a while. And C8 is toxic AF.

That looks like ceramic non-stick coating. I have a frying pan with that and use it constantly. It's great because you can use any utensils you want with it (metal or plastic, whatever) and even use steel wool on it. Eventually it will wear out/off but nothing like teflon does. HOWEVER, I would never ever ever pay $180 for it. My frying pan, that I've been using for at least 4 years now, cost $17.

@@SisselSasha Im not a professional or anything, but I think the situation might be different if she didn’t live in an apartment. If you leave your pet and they’re very loud the entire time, your neighbors won’t be happy with you, and you could get kicked out, under extreme circumstances. @@SisselSasha yes this is normal for some people. I consider my dogs my kids and my partner and my life revolve around our dogs. Dog daycare can be a great outlet for puppies and high energy dogs and is also a great way to get puppies socialized to all different types of dogs. That being said, it is important to research the dog daycares in your area. I have a list of daycares in my area that I've checked out and talked to past and present employees to confirm proper training and care practices. Dog daycares often offer training or have resources to help you find a trainer, which will help with any behavior problems. From the sound of it, Hermes is doing typical puppy stuff, he just needs some more guidance.

Not really. The sides of a Dutch oven are much higher and they have to have a cover so it’s closer to a pot than a casserole dish. They’re also made of enameled cast iron, which is what separates them from other pots and makes them an “oven”, whereas casserole dishes are just made of ceramic/glass. Dutch ovens are usually used for stews and braises, things with a lot of liquid you want to remain trapped inside, casserole dishes would have too much evaporation and browning.

Teflon will always fall apart sooner or later due to the repeated high heat, oil, detergent and scrubbing exposure - usually after about two years. And it's not very healthy to consume particles of that decomposed Teflon. Spend 200 bucks on a cast iron pot that will literally last you all your life, because unless you're melting it at 1500 degrees or actively try to destroy it with a hammer and a chisel, nothing will break that thing.

The great thing about Boils is everyone has their own way they do it. Personally I'd add some Old Bay seasoning, if you like more spice. I've seen some crabfish boils on youtube that look epic.

As someone of similar age and who was a line cook for over a decade. Your point of “I don’t care if I did the thing wrong, it tastes good” that should be the whole point of cooking honestly lol. Like sure some things can be really technical and require skill, but cooking for yourself or family even shouldn’t be so stressful like so many view it. It never goes perfectly as planned, you always gotta be able to adapt and just try shit out sometimes. I like your cooking videos because you do the thing anyways even though you don’t know wtf you’re doing and I’m so here for that 😂 love your content!

Honestly when I saw it sticking, I instantly thought not worth it. For most of my meals a 20$ TFal is enough for breakfast. A 50$ stainless steel enough is enough for most lunches. And a Dutch oven I got from a thrift store has worked for most other things.

@@lavenderoh Teflon’s manufacturing process has exposed the workers and consumers to carcinogens, mostly from exposure to PFOAs. There were concerns about of it burning off into food. Tfal claims it’s PFOA free. I believe PTFE is considered safe for humans. Also I should say that this is not me endorsing the specific company. As far as I know, nonstick coating that is PFOA free is generally safe.

I know no one cares and this is just my opinion as someone who worked at a doggy daycare, I wouldn’t personally send your dog to one. No hate to Swell AT ALL! It’s great for the pet parent but from my experience almost every dog that came into daycare left with more behavior issues and anxiety then they came in with. Now, this may just be my experience and the daycare I worked at but I’ve heard from other daycare attendants that they had the same problems. Too many dogs, not enough people to stop fights and bites from happening(not to mention the dogs that just don’t do well with other dogs being let in left and right and biting other dogs). I’d personally try getting a reliable dog walker or someone who will work with your dog personally or in a small group. While I know the intentions of doggy day cares are good they tend to sacrifice good care of less dogs for more money with more dogs and less people watching them. The daycare I worked at had me in a room by myself with 15-25 dogs on a slow day. I won’t say all but from what I know most doggy daycares run like this. You are doing amazing with your puppy though! No hate to Swell! Just a general tale of caution to really research the daycare before you send your puppy to it! I’m sure swell did tho!

You could probably get a cast iron dutch oven for way less money. It's a little bit more work, but it lasts forever and well-seasoned cast iron is nonstick. Or you could get an enameled cast iron dutch oven which would still be much less money.

I figured you cooked at home, but your surprise at how hot the our place pan thing being hot was adorable. Whatever material that pan is - of course it gets hot. That's the point. But also the reason why I don't want to buy one, cause supposedly it's not oven safe, at which, what's the point? Buy a cast iron then. Will get stupid hot AND be able for all those skillet recipes. LOL

Scrambled eggs stick to every surface. Doesn’t matter how “non stick” something claims to be- always need lots of oil or butter, whatever slick fat you are into (unless you have a perfectly seasoned 12 yr old cast iron 😂) ❤ some times it’s about the heat in how MUCH it sticks, but what I’m saying is basically it’s not you, but I can’t even blame the pot. Either way that pot just looks like a fine 60-70 dollar pot. Marketing looks deceptive. P.S. You did a great job with the boil! You should just break the corn because it’s easier, not because it’s wrong. ❤❤ 21:10. I will say good pans/pots make a HUGE difference once you get more experienced. Plus cheap pans have weird non-stick chemicals in them that leach into the food. This is DEF not worth 180 though…

That’s a good size pan to make no knead artisan bread. You bake inside the preheated pan. Great review! You could try cutting the corn by making one chop to wedge the blade into the ear. Then don’t try to use force on the ear. Lift the knife and corn together and whack (in a controlled way) down on the cutting board several times. This is helpful with very hard squashes too. This works best with a heavier knife like a cleaver.

If you want Hermes to stop begging, I'd suggest making like certain words you use with him when it's dinner for you vs snacc for him. For my cat (I know but it works for both) we tell him firmly "not yours" and tell him to go lay down, vs when it's snacks for him, we'll say "treat time!" and then when there's no more snacc he gets told "all done" and then we turn around and ignore his further begging. This allows him to understand the difference between foodtime for him and foodtime he can't have.
