I like that you take the time to come see the vids of people you reacted to. I will say i felt peebs on a spiritual level when he said it's not in the spirit to leave a Pokemon behind. Obviously sometimes there's no choice if the alternative is a team wipe, but the whole point of the naming rule, to me, is to treat them as friends and get attached. My goal with a nuzlock is always to win with as many Pokemon left possible. (Of course that's just me tho)
@LonesomeDevil

Jan actually straight up said in another reaction video of his that he played so many nuzlockes and was so disensitized to losing Pokémon that he related more to Pokémon villains at this point. So this disagreement of yours with his mentality about making sacrifices makes perfect sense, haha.

It's like showing off the fanbase itself, which is ironic, weird, and funny since Peebs isn't that into Pokemon. He's played what just gen 1 aside from his nuzlock? It's like the conflicting sides of the fans that play it for the collecting and/or RPG elements which makes up slightly the majority vs the competitive side of the fan base which slightly makes up the minority... what I mean by slightly is like it's close split, like 49 and 51 % I'd say, but most people do play these games you know for the Pokemon, for the collecting, or those of us this was our 1st RPG and we still love it and got into other RPGs because of it.

@@BigSillyGoose2000 And while I do know quite a lot about Pokémon, I know next to NOTHING about Nuzlockes, but I love watching Peebs, and I love playing Pokémon, 25 years after it first came out on TV, but I'm sure I wouldn't have been part of the angry mob, crapping on poor Peebo. He's just an average dude doing his best, who openly and honestly admits that he's a scrub when it comes to Pokémon, his words, not mine, because I think he's a great guy. It's ok to not know a lot about something, like Pokémon. I mean, there's nearly 800+ Pokémon, and the series has been going for nearly 30 years, so its not possible to keep up with it forever. But, you can try to, and you can still do a great job regardless of whether or not your Pokémon knowledge is either a little or a lot. Because Peebs maxed out his luck stats here. But I do genuinely feel the same way as Peebs does about his Pokémon. That 1. Never abandon any of them, no matter what, 2. That he genuinely loves each and every one of them, as do I, because that's just how you succeed at being a Pokémon master, you genuinely love and care about your Pokémon, and pretty much all Pokémon, even if you can't use all of them on your team. 3. He wants to win(I mean; who doesn't? He was going up against the Champion of the Hoenn region, Gen 3, Steven Stone), and Austin didn't come all this way to lose, but even if he had lost, at least you can say Austin still cared about each and every member of Team Peebs. Except maybe Elmo. But, like Peebs says, he cares, and wanted the series to be entertaining, which I bet it was. And even if he'd lost to Steven, he still gave it his all, and busted his butt to beat the Elite Four, and the Champion, all in one go. So, props to Peebs, for succeeding, and being the best youtuber ever! And for being the new Hoenn Region Champion, I guess? I mean, I just recently became the Sinnoh Champ in the Diamond remake, and it was great, but not as cool as Peebs being the Hoenn Champion!

@@billy-the-butcher That kinda goes without saying. I was referencing a very specific factoid about the Pokemon Challenges content creator. Given the ruleset he uses, some of the harder romhacks tend to come down to grinding against the RNG just to come out of battles with the Pokemon needed alive to pass future encounters. Kinda like the type of time investment related to a speedrunner grinding out difficult to execute skips to get better times.

@@Shalakor lol yeah. One of the harder Rom Hacks he finished a while ago, Emerald Kaizo, is so particular that he would reset a run like 10-15 minutes in purely based on what random encounters he got because the difficulty of that hack makes it matter SO much. His winning attempt at 151 he finally got Swellow on like the second route which only had a 1% chance of appearing, and it ended up hard carrying most of the run because of how broken Guts+Facade+Stab is

I have barely started the video but I love your old Nuzlocke so much. Like I've watched the whole thing at least 3 times over the years??? Your silly little "Pokemon Pokemon Pokemon Graveyard" song has lived in my head this whole time and it won't leave. That's not a complaint, it's just an observation.

I remember watching the full Nuzlocke run back in the day, though I had forgotten how it all played out because it's been so long. The final battle still is just as amazing to watch now as it was back then, coming up clutch like that with just two Pokemon and barely any health left. To do it blindly as your first attempt at a Nuzlocke in general makes it all the more impressive. It's good that Jan enjoyed himself with it in the end as well, and gave some praise for how you grew through the series. I'd be terrified to watch if someone reviewed something I made like this, can only imagine how weird it must feel to see that pop up.

Great to see you revisit the old nuzlocke, I watched it when it came out when I was a kid so it definitely brings back memories. It was actually the first thing to actually introduce me to the concept of Nuzlockes. I got really into it too, like I remember Zigzams death fucking destroyed me, I was actually upset.

He'll never see this, but as someone who rewatches this series once every 6 months or so and watched it as it was coming out, he did not use the EXP share. Maybe one day if I really have nothing to do at work I'll come back through and make an edit of every contradiction in this video from the original series.

I can't remember what got me into your channel but I remember watching the heck out of your hardcore Minecraft series and Terraria series. Seeing this video on my recommendations was a hit of nostalgia and definitely brought back some good memories and brought on a desire to binge watch every season of your hardcore series. Anyways, glad to see you're still doing RU-vid. I don't know how to end this comment, lol.

it’s likely been suggested before, but since you both are on Twitch, collaborating for a Nuzlocke run would be fantastic. your approaches as performers (high energy with inexperience/dry and strategic) are a classic combination, there’s a very entertaining narrative to be found there. even better, to keep the pro on his toes and capitalize on your “chaotic” style, make it a randomizer.
