These weird Kirby commercials are unacceptable

So just in case anybody was wondering they weren't saying Hoshino Kirby, the guy, they were saying Hoshi no Kirby, which is the Japanese name for the kirby series and means "Kirby of the Stars"

It's always so weird to me how US marketing keeps trying to make Kirby out to be a badass character and not, you know, the cute creampuff in his cute world full of cute characters.

That Kirby playing the piano was top-tier meme material. Whoever was coming up with the ads with the mascot costume needed their pay doubled.

Hoshi No Kirby (星のカービィ) translates to "Kirby of the stars" and is the Japanese name for the Kirby franchise as well as the Japanese title for Kirby: Right Back at Ya! and the the Kirby series of novels

American commercial: *portrays Kirby and his friends as these crazy, maniacally grinning, pointlessly violent psychos* Also American commercial: *shows the cutesy-ass gameplay and actual character designs and boxart of Kirby and pals frollicking through a field*

What in God's name was it with American commercials and trying to make Kirby out to be the most evil marshmallow man in existence?

Fun fact: That “TMK” commercial seemingly inspired and was included in an anolog horror series. It’s basically about a sentient glitch in a Kirby game that infects kids and makes them take their own life in order to join Kirby’s world but instead they just end up in the test level for some reason. Also, eyeballs, lots and lots of eyeballs.

Nintendo's American marketing in the 90's tried to be as bizarre and extreme as it could possibly be. Thank goodness Nintendo gave modern Kirby a cuter design and not the American 90's ad Kirby! 😅 I do also remember the music in the GBA Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland American ad, which still lives rent-free in my brain to this day. It was basically the song "Secret Agent Man" with new Kirby lyrics and was catchier than it had any right to be!

Loving the content on PEEBS, though I do miss pbggameplay this is definitely a worthy replacement! Keep up the great work Mr peanutpeebusbejeebus man.

Being a modern Kirby fan, seeing all these old American Kirby ads where they represent him as an aggressive demon instead of a wholesome ball of pure positive energy is insanely weird.

Hoshi no Kabi (Kirby in Japanese) is the Japanese title (meaning Kirby of the Stars) for the actual first Kirby game, Kirby’s Dreamland. It’s also used for the anime and is a title used for a lot of Kirby games in Japan.

It's Kirby month! (Kirby's first game released April 27th, 1992 and most Kirby games tend to launch in March/April)

My seven year old LOVES Kirby because, lets be honest... kinda hard to die when you can suck up pretty much everything and fly for a decent amount of time :)

I always loved those "Super Star Ultra" commercials back in the day (they were the ones with the mascot being not very good at various things, but really good at using his foes abilities bit), never failed to crack me up! Also I remember one time seeing a short version of the "64: The Crystal Shards" one where they quickly introduced the two dogs followed by the line "And Kirby is...well" as this happens Kirby turns to the right with the missile and fires it saying "poyo" as he does so followed by the explosion "Kirby is just Kirby" at which point Kirby faces forward once more making more "poyos" and waving his arms as if saying "Hi, I'm cute and helpful pick me

1st, the actual 1st Kirby game was on the Game Boy in 92, Kirby's Adventure on the NES was in 93. 2nd... somewhere in the world, while on vacation after a job well done, creating one of the greatest video games of all time, his master piece, his MAGNUM OPUS... a disturbance in the force, a single tear rolling down Sakurai's cheek as his pink marshmallow boy is called a creation of Miyamoto's. FunFact: there was a anime with 100 episodes for kirby, it got a litteral 4kids dub in inglish and spanish, but most from it is lost media.

First Kirby game was Kirby's Dream Land, not Adventure.
