Jefferson airplane then Jefferson starship and finally just starship but it's the same group so she stayed part of the same group and this was starship.
What heart felt appreciation your reactions to the music I grew up with. And what I would do to have a relationship like the two of you!!! Yes,sure you had "stuff "to get through, but you prevailed!! High 5 to you!!! And your daughter is so very lucky to have parents like you ❤️
Two of the greatest vocalists to ever pick up a mic 🎤, The legendary Grace Slick and Mickey Thomas , one of the best “ feel good “ songs from the 80’s , you now know it’s from the movie Mannequin (1987). Fun fact - the lady playing the mannequin in the movie is Kim Cattrall, one of the four iconic friends from the Sex And The City TV and movie series…
This is a branch off from Jefferson Starship with a few different members from the original. It didn't last too long but they had a few hits in the 80's with Grace Slick & Mickey Thomas singing "Nothing Is Gonna Stop Us Now" in 1987 from the movie "Mannequin". Other songs were "We Built This City" & "Sara".
The female vocalist, Grace Slick, had been Airplane / Starship's lead vocalist for 20 years at this point. Most anything you do by them prior to this is Grace. Try their Somebody To Love from 20 years earlier.
Shawn & Mel, you'll love Jefferson Starship's "Miracles", "Count On Me" and "Play On Love"!!! Chronologically is was Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, then Starship. Grace Slick was in all 3 iterations of this band.
Yes it's from the movie from 1987 "Mannequin" and this song was the lead song to the movie.. One of my favourite 80s song!!! So glad I grew up in the 80s, we had the best music ever!!! #80smusicforlife
Yes the movie Mannequin my favorite movie I have watched it 184 times and counting and even have the movie poster on my wall. And they actually used this song for both the original and mannequin 2: on the move.
Kim Cattrell is the woman who plays as the mannequin in the movie Mannequin. She also played in Porky’s as Ms Lynn “Lassie” Honeywell as the assistant cheerleading coach. She played in Police Academy. She was also one of the 4 women on the tv show Sexy In The City.
I love you two. You bring me happiness and a great big smile every time I watch your reactions. You are willing to listen to anything. Love you bunches!
Welcome back , I was watching the livestream when it was taken down . Seems like someone is reporting you ... Prayers up they can deal with their ego problems without affecting others . Keep up the good work
This is one of my favorite songs ever! It came out in 87’ I think. There are pictures of me singing as a 2 year old singing this - by the way it was in the movie manakin with Andrew McCarthy
Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship - 3 incarnations of the same band, with the incredible voice of Grace Slick, of "White Rabbit" fame, carrying it through all the changes.
My downstairs neighbors do this song on karaoke sometimes. About 5 young girls singing the chorus at the top of their lungs and not one of them can sing... they sound pretty aweful and too loud actually. Oh well, I still like the song
The movie this song is from is "Mannequin" from 1987 starring Andrew McCarthy and Kim Catrall. It's one of my favorite movies when I was 12 years old and I had quite the crush on Andrew McCarthy. It's a cute movie.
Marty Balens was a creative force and one fantastic writer singer RIP Marty Sept 27 2018 Have you reacted to the song Miracles is one of my all time favorites
That woman singing lead is grace slick a woman with an astonishing career in rock by herself and starship has changed their name numerous times for legal reasons from Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson starship, starship
It was about a guy falling in love with a mannequin in a large dept store and her coming to life in front of him should watch it Meshach Taylor was so hilarious in with Kim catrelle, Andrew Mccarthy, Estelle Ghetty (golden girls) and James Spader of blacklist

This was written by Diane Warren (music) and Albert Hammond (lyrics). Diane has penned or co-penned 32 Top 10 Billboard hits to date and nine #1's - including this, her first. You have likely reviewed some of her other songs so far without knowing this. Hammond, best known for his #5 hit "It Never Rains in Southern California, said the following about this song's inspiration: "The idea for the song came from his impending marriage to his live-in girlfriend of seven years, after his divorce from his previous wife was finalized. He had said to Warren, "It's almost like they've stopped me from marrying this woman for seven years, and they haven't succeeded. They're not gonna stop me doing it." (Wikipedia).
I knew that Diane wrote this, but I didn't know that Albert Hammond wrote the lyrics. Thanks for the info! I've been a fan if Diane Warren for years. She has an amazing catalog of hit songs!
