It isn't just the audio that Nate adds to his videos (which is very easy to listen to), nor is it just the skills that he corrects issues in the hoofs with, no It is the knowledge (gained from experience no doubt) of what the issues are that have me coming back for more ...
I'm always amazed at how calm the cows are in the enclosures. It's like they have conversations about Nate like; "Hey if this guy gets a hold of you it's because he's been alerted that you need help. Just get in the enclosure, let him put your foot up, relax and when he's done I promise you'll be on your way to feeling much better in no time at all. Trust us; he's that good!" Kind of like how I'm sure the seals in Namibia speak about the guys who catch them in nets to remove fishing lines from their bodies. Surely they communicate to each other when they see a buddy in need like; "Oh yeah hey check this out! You're going to be chased soon and most likely captured but be easy about it. There are these bipedal creatures that run us down to remove this crap others' of their species leave in the water that we end up entangled in. They hang around the beach like we do; but they're here to help. No need for alarm it's a bit scary the first time and we all still run but when they're done with you you'll feel better instantly and they take pictures so stick around with them for a minute. For some strange reason others from their species like to watch!"
I love how Nate's videos don't have all the distractions other hoof trimmer videos have. You never have to search for where the thumbnail came from, there is no clickbait or loud music... just calm voices, years of knowledge and experience, and precious cows feeling better 😊
Anyone else watch these videos and start talking the process along like, “I can’t really see what’s in there, I wish Nate would spray some Chlorhexidine.” -and Nate does. 😂 I just love these videos. Nate the great. 🤗
That had to be so sore! Poor baby So then, the rock pierced through the hoof, but it wasn't connected to the actual infection pocket? I'm always fascinated at how the body, whether human or animal, reacts to different types of traumas. In this case, the rock. I LOVE the Day-Glo orange tape!!! . Love your work, Nate!
Great to see you tend to this cow and ease her discomfort again. You are so professional and experienced and definitely my fave Hoof Trimmer. Thank you for your dedication to good animal health and welfare.
I’ve been an avid fan for a couple of years now and I always find your footage and commentary very well done and always informative. These beautiful animals are so fortunate to have you as their farrier! Keep on doing the great work you do! 🙏😊👍
I have been watching these videos for a long time now and whilst I enjoy them immensely its the comments that always leave me smiling. Nate, did you realise that so many subscribers would become hoof experts?
I was able to regale a large group of friends this holiday weekend with my vast knowledge of cow hooves and hoof trimming videos. They were.......fascinated. I think Nate must be experienced to be appreciated. 😂
Carefully extracts the stone with a small hand tool "now I need to tread lightly " Brings out power tools 😂 I know it's fine, but that transition amused me 😅
I like how you hold the cow’s foot as you trim - unlike another hoof trimmer who allows the foot to flop all over the place while he’s welding his knives.
The best Hoof trimmer on RU-vid!🐮🙌🏼 I haven’t watched you for awhile Nate(my bad, have some catching up to do!😔) But what I have noticed besides your great, caring work is you are getting close to 1 Million Subscribers!👏🏼👏🏼 Can’t wait to see that number because you truly deserve it…..again because you are the best!!! Blessings and best wishes from Canada🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦
Such a great channel, I was expecting that to be way worse, just love watching you work Nate, your knife work is exceptional, miss moo at the end was having a lovely cool dip😂 thank you so much Nate, and take care.👍💙🐄
It was wild to hear the scraping sound the knife made against the rock. I get irritated when I have a tiny rock in my shoe, so I can't imagine having it embedded in my actual foot. Amazing!
I’ve learned so much from your videos, and I don’t even work on a farm lol. I love your instructions, and I love that you always put the cow first and foremost, but you take time to enjoy the little things in life. Like a cow soaking her ‘feet’!
Oh my gosh, that stone must have been so painful. Thanks for sharing, it's amazing how your skills and knife work help these cows and farmers out so much!
I have so many wonderful questions. How bad does the drainage smell? What is the pink/red spot that doesn't seem to be an issue? How long will a cow stay like that before getting... "Obnoxious" and wanting their hoof back? Or has it never been an issue? Your video are mesmerizing. 🤩
Interesting that you defined a rock injury as potentially different than a White Line injury. Not the same shape or necessarily repair work. Thank you. Did enjoy the cow cooling herself off in the water trough.
Ouch! When you made that knife swipe and it started oozing....poor old gal. Laughed out loud at the parting shot! Reminds me of me when I let my chickens out to run after work when it's really hot; I set the hose at a trickle and aim it at my feet to keep cool :) I hate having hot feet!
Love your videos Nate! I had a small curiosity. How susceptible are most healthy cows to infection? In other words, if that was left untreated, about how long would it take before it started to affect more than just the leg?
