I actually once had a playthrough of China where I let Japan puppet me only to revolt by igniting a democratic civil war right as Japan declared war on the Allies. It was a lot of fun.
Haven't played fascist Germany in forever but when I did I'd usually try to delay the war as long as possible by flipping as many nations via the focus tree as I could.

I read somewhere that the chance for Japan to accept it is literally just a flat 10% chance. Jaoan could rule the world, and it's still 10%. So I don't know which is nore crazy, the fact that japan accepted it despite all the land they have. Or, that ISP actually got the 10% chance.
