hmmm ninjas were trained both body and mind to be indomitable just like samurais, like what militaries do to their elite squads in terms of information gathering via torture they employ body and mind conditioning wherein they cant be put off that easily or give an important information about someone or something. these anime is just farfetched in terms of body's capacity to withstand torture for days, or maybe their bodies were enhanced to take a hug damage just as long as bodily functions are intact just what happened to the MC, he would've died on that one fatal blow but he did survive and on top of that when he was on IV line he wouldve died with an open line but he was still alive.

For your information, this is no copy of John Wick. If you want to speak from that perspective, then John Wick is also a copy of numerous previous movies that are based on the same concept. This anime is unuiqe and it has nothing to do with John wick.
