Haven’t read the books but I’m obsessed with the show! I totally agree, I love Jere but I can’t see him with Belly because their chemistry just seems so platonic. I love sweet angel baby Cam and I want him to have the world. But I’m team Conrad all the way. He’s the only love interest with emotional growth and depth throughout the show imo

Genuinely my FAVOURITE change in the show is that Belly doesn't suck. I'm sorry to people who loved her in the book but whenever Conrad said she was a kid he was dead on, she was always whining and being extremelely immature (yes I get that she was in highschool but still) it really was frustrating being in her head sometimes. Especially the way she used Cam and didn't really even like him at all, Belly in the show is so full of life and laughter and love and you can't help but root for her and it actually makes sense why all these boys want her. Love the adaptation! Also, Conrad is MUCH more appealing here, the brooding bad boy vibe is all well and good but you need to give them character outside of that or it's hard to even see why the FL is interested.

I never read the series, but They did well hiring the actors and actresses because I noticed Jeremiah’s feelings right away. I did feel bad for Cam, but I agree Belly has chemistry with everyone. When I was watch the series I got the sense in the bezinning that Belly only view Jeremiah as a friend. I agree that Jeremiah and Conrad’s dad is horrible and thought that when i saw his interactionele with his kids

When I was first reading the books, I was confused about what Belly saw in Conrad, too. When I watched the show, I realized that she likes him because of the things that he used to do before his mom got sick again. She wasn’t really paying attention to the way he was acting at the moment, but she was thinking about him in the past.

Jeremiah is my favorite of the love interests. I love how Jeremiah goes out of his way to tell Belly she's beautiful and just how special she is to him. He never leads her on or plays with her feelings like Conrad does. And before conrad stans come at me, yes i HAVE read the books.

I love how involved Jenny Han was in the show, I think that her storytelling skills really improved with To All The Boys, and it really shows in the the tv show!

If I have to say something about Conrad, I would say that maybe he's hard to read, but there is no one that cared about Belly more than him. He's the one who taught her how to dance, that just gave up his activities with his friends to spend time with her, and liked her; maybe even loved her ; before she was pretty. His first words to her on the show are literally 'I liked you better with glasses'. So he just sees the beauty in Belly's pureness and personality. Jeremiah wasn't the one, and I felt like his confession to her came really out of nowhere. I think he was just jealous of what Conrad had, because he was always the loved one, the one we prefer. And even when he was struggling to accept his mother's cancer and soon death, he still cared a lot about Belly, which is unexpected because for example when Jere knew for the secret, he couldn't care less about the ball and Belly... So yeah, he really is the one for her I think.. Also, I never really shipped her with Cam, it just didn't feel like love. I couldn't see Belly loving him like she does with Conrad. Otherwise, he's a great boy, he deserved better.

(PS: I havent read the books yet) I shipped Cam and Belly so bad , I really wanted them to end up . It was a safe choice , no in between brothers , no toxicity. I legit got butterflies when there was something going on between cam and her and jeremiah and her. As an adult myself I felt swooning after so longgggggg. It was comfort series . In series , I wanted cam and her the end game . No hate towards conrad but he was putting her on and off .

I think that Jenny Han is great at creating wonderful characters. Lara Jean, Peter Kavinsky, margot, kitty, Belly, The moms in TSITP, Etc but it's like she doesnt know how to make them have relationships with each other that are supportive or empathetic. The tv/movie version of every thing of hers has always been so much better.

Love seeing your reactions! I read and loved the books when they first came out (when I was 16), so I really related to Belly (and Belly and Conrad's relationship) at the time. Now that I'm 29, I can definitely see the problems with the books. I'm so glad the adaptation exists finally, and I love the updates they've made for the most part. One of my favorite changes is getting to see more of all the other characters, especially Conrad. In the books we don't get his perspective until book 3. I think the show really helps you understand his character more. I also really agree, I think Jere and Belly's relationship feels super platonic. I can't wait to see if season two sticks to book two, and if they change the timeline since the book includes so many flashbacks.

personally, I've read all the books and at the beginning of the books, I was entirely team Jeremiah. However, with this show, I was team Conrad from the get-go. definitely finish reading the books, because later on, it explains Conrad and Belly's relationship much better. AND YES I SHIP LAUREL AND SUSANNAH.

Considering what happens in the books, it's a miracle this show made me genuinely ship Conrad and Belly, not just because they're endgame. But I still love Jeremiah.

I only watched the tv series but I just felt like the connection between belly and conrad was not established enough in the flashbacks or in the present. Conrad had the personality of a wet blanket, I undestand why he is so mopey but I feel like we only get to see this Conrad while everybody talks about how he is so different this summer. The viewer however doesn't get to see his character before. Needless to say, I ship Jelly...even though they probably won't end up together. But I actually loved the moms together, they had the best friendship!

Some changes I liked: Showed the teasing as teasing and not the guys just ragging on her all the time. Taylor only liking Steven and seeing how she feels like Belly does. It was nice seeing her insecurities play out. I did not like how she hooked up with Jeremiah, Conrad, and Steven within her visit. I get Belly should not be possessive, but that seems like a huge betrayal. I liked how the show just shows her crush on Steven. I could see why Taylor and Belly were friends at first and how they did change into different people which I did not see in the book. Ok onto the book. I could not stand Conrad and I do agree with you that it made no sense that Belly was obsessed with this guy even for YA. But than I remember what happens with those who are abused. Please bear with me. People who are abused reveal that they had a couple of nice moments and they hope to hold onto them even when they don’t exist anymore. This is what Belly is doing. She had a couple nice moments with him which she constantly holds onto. While she acknowledges he is a jerk, she still has hope he will change. So in a way, it is an abusive relationship. Emotionally, I believe. I shipped Jeremiah and Belly at first until he forced himself on her during Truth and Dare. I still like him, but he has to earn her trust back. Cam, sweet Cam. Why do authors do this? Why do they show a healthy love interest and than just have the protagonist end up with the abusive or toxic one? I hate it.

I love how she changed the dynamic between Taylor and belly in the show!! Conrad is so in love with Belly but he’s dealing with so much shit that he doesn’t know how to handle his mom is sick dads an ass and has to take care of his brother and on top of it keeping it a secret. Jeremiah is bestie vibes not lover vibes

Although I fully believe Belly is too selfish to even begin to deserve Jeremiah. Also, she is so much WORSE in the book. Book Belly is my sleep paralysis demon.

I did not finish the video last night. Another change I enjoyed was making shayla and Nicole well rounded characters and friends to Belly instead of antagonists that get in her way. I found it weird how they did not touch on Conrad playing guitar at all. Did Belly drink in the books? I found it odd how they made her drink when that was one of her proudest qualities (at least to her). It made sense for her to try it for the first time and feel the effects, but it felt wrong to me too. I like how the characters had awkward interactions with each other because they were teenagers who were inexperienced. I also like how Belly vets called out by Taylor for being selfish because that is how I felt she was in the books. So I am glad they explored that in the show.

I never read the books but a lot of your complaints about it I actually had for the series as well (though I did enjoy it) Cam was the best love interest, I actually liked Conrad a whole lot because there was good reason for his brooding, but not with Belly because there was nothing pointing towards them being a good match besides the fact that they like each other, Jere's confession came out of nowhere as well as Belly suddenly being into him, only to then get back with Conrad after all, all of that felt way too quick, then it ends on them coming together finally but we see no more of it. Also I found it hard to relate as well and Belly's and her best friends relationship felt off sometimes... totally agree that my favorite part of the series was the mother friendship by far, and that innuendo that there might be something more going on when Laurel's ex husband said she never loved anyone as much as Susannah... my absolute highlight, would have loved it if they were lesbians. But even if they aren't I really found the message about friendship most touching about it as well

I read the book years ago ( still a decent read, not jenny han's finest tho) but the show is way better. I agree that the flashbacks in the book drove me crazy like I know it added to their history and made you just as invested as belly but those scenes could have been more deliberate

I read all of the books and yes, this series proves that books are always better. They cut out a lot of important scenes, changed a lot of the scenes they included and, also, told the story more childishly than in the books. I’m really disappointed, I expected it to be so much better made. And why do they always change the scenes in the books? They were already perfect!

Maybe it's being the moms' age, but Conrad gets a HUGE "no" from me. Maybe in ten years. He's too young and doesn't know how to deal with difficult emotions, yet. He's also too young to process that adults don't always have it together and that has nothing to do with him (like his dad being trash is not his fault). He's not ready to be anybody's boyfriend.
